When I decided to tackle my first quilt as a gift for a new mom, I thought it would be a piece of cake. Cut the fabric, sew it together, bind it, done — right? WRONG. If it weren’t for the amazing staff at Broadway Quilts, my quilt dreams would have never come to life. After being totally overwhelmed by the amazing selection of fabrics, I ended up purchasing one of their quilt kits, which include a pattern and fabric. The ladies walked me through the entire process, and were so patient with me when I came in with no clue how to take the next step(several times…). It was definitely not as easy as I thought it would be, but had I let Pinterest teach me how to complete my quilt, I know I wouldn’t have made it through to the end. When it finally came time to give my quilt to my best friend, I was SO proud of the finished piece! Now I can’t wait to make another! Thank you Broadway Quilts!!!

Store is friendly but also professional. Huge stock, yet easy to navigate. Also important: the owner, Gerry, is a strong supporter of local quilt guilds, and is generous in support of community programs that benefit many. It just seems right to shop with someone who gives so much back to her community.

Meet Gerry– The most helpful shop owner around. Good old fashioned quality service! I have been driving by for the past two years, and finally had the time to stop. I took an old quilt in and asked if they had any advice on how to repair it. They laid it out, took everything into consideration, and then advised me how to make the repairs. When I stared blankly back, Gerry, the owner, told me to come back when I had some time. Two days ago I stopped in, and Gerry patiently walked me through the repairs. I spent 3 ½ hours in the store working, getting instruction, and then working more. She was so kind and helpful. She sold me some beautiful fabric to bring the piece together, and I watched as obvious regulars came and went, always with what they needed and a helpful piece of advice to share or take home. Can’t say enough good things– the building is stocked floor to ceiling with amazing fabrics, quilts on display, and fun little projects for different ability levels. Such a wonderful asset to our town! I agree that there is no «clique» feel that some sewing places manifest– just sweet people sharing creativity and excitement over sewing!

Absolutely friendly, you won’t get that«cliqueish» feel you find at some places. Well stocked, knowledgeable staff, all the trimmings. They have a little bit of everything, and will guide you through your project from first quilt to intricate work. Prices are on par with a quality quilt shop. They also have classes and books. Easy to find, too – right on the main thoroughfare.

I am so glad to have this well stocked and well staffed shop in town. No, this is not the discount or bargain type of craft store you find in strip malls, but a quality independent business. Almost anything you need for home sewing is available here. They are nice to novices and extremely well versed in quiltmaking so advanced techniques and trends can be discussed as well.
