I see the past review as being a negative one, but then I read the rest of their reviews of other businesses. ALL negative(hmmm!). This spurred me to say something here. Crown Cleaners does a Fantastic job! As a local, I support my local businesses simply because it is the right thing to do, and while I have the option to have my services rendered in Napa, Marin, San Francisco. I believe that when you find a good thing, you STICK with it. I have trusted my laundry, dry cleaning, tailoring, and anything else that deserves a careful touch with Crown. If you are a quality-conscious, LOCAL supporting Sonoma resident or visitor, then Crown is your spot.

The best place to rent formal wear in Sonoma. Raj the owner is very nice and very knowledgeable. I got fitted at another formal wear store on the east coast, called Raj with the measurements and he had everything ordered and ready to go. Crown Cleaners has a convenient over night drop off for your formal wear so you can drop it off any time.

My husband and I were in Sonoma for a family wedding and he needed to rent a tux. Raj was extremely helpful and the tux was ready to go when promised. We had some fitting issues that were caused from our local tux shop’s measurements that were not correct and Raj was able to get him the correct size the next morning.

Raj is a gentleman and my stuff always comes back just how I would expect it. Prices are a bit high, but fitting for downtown Sonoma.

This place is a scam. I brought in 3 drapery panels that I wanted cut in half to make a total of 6 panels. I dropped them off almost 3 weeks ago. I was told that 1) they would not know how much it would cost and 2) it may or may not be done in a week. I asked for 2 things: To be called when the article is ready and to give me a quote on how much it would be. Neither of these things happened. I called at the end of the week and told that their tailor is ill and falling behind and they needed 5 more days to finish just one of the panels. I was still not given a quote to how much this would cost. Fast forward to Thursday 4/24, I get a call from their cashier that my drapes are all ready to be picked up AND the total was $ 45. I come to pick them up today, Friday 4⁄25. The owner says to me «ok that will be $ 145.» Excuse me? Then he looks back and says«oh nevermind it’s $ 95.» No, actually I was told $ 45 over the phone. «No that was only for one set of panels.» Why wasn’t I given a quote like I asked I would have gone somewhere else. «Well tailoring is a lot of work and we aren’t really sure why we bother sending it out and doing it anymore because it’s too much trouble.» Infuriated at this point, I reminded them that they ran late with getting me my order, that the only thing they did was cut the panels in half and seal the seams. That’s it. They wanted more money than what I paid for all 3 panels(one from Restoration Hardware). They also never gave me a quote and now I can see why… so they can charge you whatever they want once it is in their possession. So the cashier rings me up to $ 135. I said the owner just quoted me $ 95. She grabs him and he says«Oh yea it is $ 135 because the one set of drapes was heavier than the others.» At that point I threatened him with a claim with the BBB and DCA. He offered to give it to me at his cost and I just gave him a check for the original $ 95 since I had already written it out. Now the worst part of all of this– they RUINED2 sets of curtains when pressing them(which I never asked them to do) and now the material is destroyed upon inspection. How does a CLEANER manage to ruin material when this is what they do for a living??? I have been bringing my clothes to cleaners and tailors since I was in high school and this is by far the WORST experience of my life and cannot believe the lack of professionalism and business ethics here. I will be contesting the charges and making sure to have it documented with the BBB. This transaction was a complete joke and I cannot believe they are still in business. AVOID this place like the plague. Check out Maxwell Cleaners instead.

Terrible customer service. Brought a bedspread in to get cleaned, which he lost. He said you can have another one that ‘looked’ like the bedspread, and he wouldn’t charge me for it. This guy is crazy. Will never go back again

Last month, I brought a very expensive, very sentimental dress to Crown Cleaners. This dress was a black halter(satin) with a gold foil lily pattern down the left side of it. It was a gift I had only worn it twice, and have had it successfully cleaned before. Crown Cleaners totally destroyed it. A relative picked up the dress for me, saying the cleaners claimed they«hand washed» it. All the gold was completely stripped off the dress, with nothing in its place but adhesive. I was devastated. When I called the business, the owner then stated they«dry cleaned» it. Funny, because the label says PROFESSIONALSPOTCLEANONLY! I appreciated that the owner admitted he may have made a mistake, and asked me to bring it in. He took my contact information and said he would get back to me. I waited a week. Never heard back. So, annoyed, I finally called and asked wtf’s the status, Gladys. He said, yes indeed they messed up and asked me to return yet again. In the store, he said since I looked like a «nice girl», he would give me $ 100 for the dress(because, clearly, it was still wearable) and a $ 30 cleaning credit. I said, this is still wearable, huh? It looks like there’s glue goo all over my black satin dress, where the gold should be. I also asked him to please return the $ 20+ we spent to get the dressed cleaned in the first place. I also asked him to please reimburse me more than just $ 100, since the SALE price of this dress was listed at $ 180(no where close to what it originally cost). He argued with me with no good reasoning that he wouldn’t pay anymore. I then said I would rather he write me a check for the $ 30 store credit because I had absolutely intention of bringing any business back here again. Instead, he wrote me a check for $ 112 — $ 100 for the dress and $ 12 for part of the cleaning fee. He started getting hostile and yelled at me in front of another customer. He also had the NERVE to ask me if he could keep my dress!!! F this place. My family used to bring significant business to Crown Cleaners, but not anymore. In all honesty, it wasn’t the fact that the dress got ruined. Ultimately, it was how poorly he handled this situation and how he treated me, the customer. He didn’t even have the professionalism to return my call, as he said he would. The check he issued me said«experts in formal wear» on it. At least that part was good for a laugh :\ Needless to say, this was the worst customer service experience of my life.

Always very helpful and friendly. I think the prices may be high compared to other towns, but they send out coupons all the time. It’s the only place I go anymore.

We went to Crown Cleaners for tuxedo rental for a wedding in Sonoma in August. Kanak was extremely helpful and flexible, and made sure we had everything we needed in time for the wedding, despite short notice. We had thought we needed to go to SF for tux’s, but got everything we needed(including great selection) at Crown Cleaners. Thanks!
