If you love good service, then this will be a favorite! Jesus is literally the best! Food is good, atmosphere super pleasant. The duck ragu will make you happy!

This was the perfect place to eat great Italian food after a day of wine tasting. The outdoor patio is very quaint and service was great too. Manuel, our waiter, was very friendly and accommodated us even though we didn’t have a reservation. Would definitely recommend it!

Went here after a healthy intellectual discussion. Burrata was on point. Minestrone soup was one of the best I’ve had… kinda sambaresque. Chicken and pork tortellini was creamy af and delish Salmon and risotto was fantastic just like N’s Will be back hopefully… dope fountain and rubber ducky

The service was very friendly and accommodating. They have a lovely back patio but make sure you make reservations if you want to sit outside. All the dishes we had(mushroom penne and gnocchi) were delectable and sauces tasted so fresh! Highly recommend if in the mood for Italian while near Sonoma square.

Very cute restaurant with a great patio, but we almost decided to dine elsewhere because the hostess was incredibly inattentive and rude to everyone who walked in the door. Her behavior was really disgusting and I was appalled to see how she spoke to another gentleman and a few other couples. Nonetheless, we stuck it out and, while there were a few other service quirks along the way, we had an average/good meal. While I feel bad saying this, I really think this restaurant would benefit by replacing the hostess. She’s the main reason why I wouldn’t go back.

Very friendly staff, good service. Beautiful garden to seat in. We enjoyed both the wine and the pastas we ordered. All and all, a good experience in a romantic spot.

My husband and I ate at this restaurant during our visit to wine country. He’s Italian and quite, ahem, pretentious about Italian food. Della Santina’s did not disappoint! He ordered the duck ragu and I ordered the cannelloni. We also ordered the spinach garlic salad. Everything was deliciously prepared — you could tell the pasta was fresh and the chef put his own twist on the cannelloni. My only slight negative is that service was pretty slow but to their credit, we had dinner about 30 minutes before they closed. I would definitely recommend eating here and would likely return.

I’m super selective on Italian restaurants. My heritage is 50% Sicilian and my grandparents owned an Italian restaurant in Detroit… so I mostly just cook my own Italian food. But, we needed a place to go on Mother’s Day because my Sicilian mother and I didn’t want to cook that night! We were already in Sonoma wine tasting. We didn’t have a reservation, but they took us since we got there right at 5:00. Ok, THEFOOD? It’s good. Really good. This picky Italian was happy. I ordered the Pappardelle Al Sugo Toscana, which had the duck ragu that day. So good, get that! Everything the 5 of us ordered was great. Tortellini alla Panna, Lasagna Bolognese, Spaghettini al Pomodoro e Basilico, and a prawn dish… were all great, and every plate was wiped clean with their italian bread. Try this place out and as my grandpa always said«MANGIA E FATTIGROSSI!»

My little sister and I went here for dinner after a day in Sonoma! They have a cute wine bar next door to wait for your table if you are a little early for your reservation and you can take your wine from there to dinner! I deducted 1 star because I felt that the waiter was a bit pushy with us to purchase things that we did not want and that was a bit unpleasant as my sister and I were just trying to have a nice sit-down dinner since she was visiting from the east coast. It is a beautiful outdoor venue and great food and wine. I got the Duck ragu which was delicious! Would definitely consider coming back.

Bland food. Blah service. Not worth your time or money. Will not repeat. Should have gone to The Girl and the Fig.

This is my second visit here and while the last one was over 8 years ago, they were both great. The server’s were fantastic. Our waiter was extremely helpful and let us taste a number of different wines before we choose a very nice Pinot Noir. My fiancé and I had shared an antipasto and and pappardelle pasta with a crushed tomato, basil and olive oil sauce that was to die for. The atmosphere here is certainly part of the whole the deal. Go for the food but enjoy the ambiance.

Wonderful dinner that hit all the right notes an Italian restaurant should, starting with a warm atmosphere and friendly service. There weren’t a ton of veg-friendly mains on the menu, but the basil in the linguine pesto really shined through, and everything else we’d ordered(burrata and a white fish) was similarly fresh-tasting and delicious. Tiramisu also gets top marks! Would happily return during another weekend trip to Sonoma. Book ahead and come early! The house(not huge to begin with) was completely packed by the time I was leaving.

The folks from Sebastiani made the recommendation and a great one at that! Manuel was our server and he was AMAZING! Such a caring service oriented waiter that made great wine pairing recommendations. This place definitely did not disappoint and I highly recommend it. Manuel’s personality really stuck out and actually made it a great experience. GREATJOB!

Stopped in for dinner and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious this little unassuming restaurant ended up. I love italian, but I wanted to try something different so I got the«Braciola di Maiale»(aka the oven roasted pork chop). It was served with a mushroom reduction, potatoes and kale. Ohmygodd, never have I had a pork chop so well seasoned and tender! It was literally falling off of the bone. 100% recommend. I took off a star for the parking, which unfortunately is only street, but this is absolutely a must try in Sonoma.

Since writing my initial review, I’ve returned several times. What is impressive about della Santina’s is its consistency. The garden remains lovely, the staff continue to be extremely friendly and attentive, the owner is always present and available and, generally, it does everything a good local restaurant should do. My only issue is with the food. It’s excellent by American Italian standards, but it does not really rank in Italian Italian levels. My most recent meal was a case in point: Our shared starter of burrata with radiccio was excellent — a huge portion and really excellently dressed. But our mains were only good: the pappardelle with duck ragout did not quite cut it — the sauce was both dry and slightly sweet(as it normally is in the USA) whereas in Italy it would be much more moist and also much more savoury. The Petrale sole was the most disappointing — it’s not a fish which would appear in Italian cuisine and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a preparation like that in Italy — slightly breaded, in a somewhat sweet sauce. But overall a really lovely time and a highly recommended restaurant.

Great location in the heart of Sonoma, vibrant Enoteca bar, and excellent homemade pasta. The first sign of whether an Italian restaurant will be good is with the bread and oil. This places nails both. They have house made olive oil and balsamic vinegar that are amazing. We shared our 2007 Barolo with the very attentive owner who wandered from table to table confirming with each guest that their experience was meeting his or hers expectations. Our server, Giorgio, has been there 19 of the 25 years they have been open. It is clear he loves his job and does all he can to make sure you leave wanting to come back soon.

First time coming to this place and it was great! I made reservations for my moms birthday and I’m glad I did because she loved it. A little expensive but I think it was worth it for the quality of their food. I got a ceaser salad which was nice and fresh then I got their chicken which was also really good. If you’re in the Sonoma area I would definitely check it out!

We love this place and come in each year we’re in town for our vacation. Tonight I had the gnocchi with tomato sauce. It was very basic but it was really tasty and hit the spot. The group also shared the large plate of prosciutto with melon and peach, that was really amazing. Overall, the food is consistent and we come back all the time to enjoy a pleasant family meal.

This place is a find! I saw this place years ago on Check Please! and bookmarked it for the future in case I found myself going to Sonoma and needing a place to dine. Well, that opportunity finally came when my friend and I were heading to Sonoma for a girls’ day out and we needed a good place for lunch. I looked up my bookmarks and there it was — Della Santina’s Trattoria! Yay! I promptly made us a reservation. I absolutely loved my seafood pasta! The seafood was plentiful with lots of shrimp, mussels and fish over fresh spinach pasta that was all cooked just right. I would totally get this very same dish next time which will be hopefully very very soon. My friend enjoyed her pesto gnocchi too. Service was friendly and helpful. Thank you Della Santina’s Trattoria and thank you Check Please!

I have been Unilocaling for a number of years and I don’t think I’ve been duped as badly as this place. There were so many great reviews and about how excellent the food was here so we were happy to hear that they had a table open for dinner. We get there 15min early and the host says that he can only seat us in 15min. It’s about 40 degrees outside and he suggests that we wait elsewhere. Meanwhile, I can see 2 empty 4 person tables and 3 empty 2 seat tables. I think maybe he has people coming in for those. We come back in 15 min and guess what? The same tables I saw were empty 15min ago were still empty and we get seated at one of the 2 person tables. Not a great start. It takes about 10 mins for someone to ask us if we wanted water and they don’t stay long enough to take our order. 10min later, someone comes back for our order and we get the lasagna and the tortellini. The lasagna was luke warm and there was a middle layer that didn’t even look like cheese. It didn’t taste like cheese. It was just a layer of white mystery stuff that didn’t taste like anything. The tortilini had a mushroom sauce and it was supposed to be spinach and mushroom. The inside was dry, so dry that it was like eating breadcrumbs. You can see specks of green but it tasted like nothing. If I were blindfolded, I couldn’t tell you it was anything because it tasted like nothing but breadcrumbs that were dry. For the price they charged, I cannot say how terrible this place was. I proceeded to obverse the host turn people away even though there were empty tables and when they sat down, taking forever to get served. Stay away. I don’t care how many people you see in there, this place is horrendous and it’s been quite a long time that Italian could be this bad.
