Came here on a Monday around 5:45 for dinner, I made some reservations just in case, glad I did because it got pretty busy Ordered linguine and shrimp good not to heavy Cobb salad good Truffle onion rings was good Tomato basil soup was good with some pepper Servers here are friendly and on top of their game I would come back to check out the pizza if I was in the neighborhood.

Slooooow service. Underwhelming. I probably would not eat here again not because of bad food, but due to lack of inspiration or beauty.

I like this restaurant but sometimes it can have weird taste in the food can be off it but the waiters are nice. I like their salads because they make them really fresh and they put just the right amount of stuff on it The pizzas are good and they’re really crispy and they taste really like golden brown and really nice

Three stars make me sad. My visits have gone something like this: 1 = 5 stars 2 = 3 stars 3 = 2 stars 4 = 5 stars… You get the idea. I want so badly to give them five stars across the board but consistency is something they struggle with. Generally speaking the customer service has been one of their stronger suits. However, when they’re running like a fine tuned machine– watch your waistline and wallet! Their crust is textural heaven, sometimes the rest can be a little bland. What pasta I’ve had I’ve enjoyed. I also don’t go during peak business hours because that’s when I’ve had the more lackluster experiences.

I loved this place. It was one of my favorite places to eat in Sonoma. I came back a couple years later and it was just awful. Service was horrible, food was the worst. I had the caprese salad and my friend had a burger, completely simple dishes that tasted like ass. I wanted to try something else and my waiter declined saying that I would have to pay for both meals. And what if the second meals we ordered were just as bad? Well I guess that doesn’t matter to them. There are MANY delicious places to eat in Sonoma, I wouldn’t settle with dining here.

Average situation with restrooms — only one inside with a line of five people and one outside with key(it feels like eating at a joint near a gas station) Cesar salad must be 1000% gross margin for them: just lettuce and 2 croutons that’s it, and fairly small, $ 9 Had to reorder to get more food — Mac and cheese for &12 which again is overpriced Cooking is nothing special. Maybe the pizzas are good but else I would pass on this place.

Been here twice in 3 weeks. The service is always great. They are great about letting you try the wine before settling and are very accommodating even when it’s busy. Have had a few of the pizzas. All were good but I felt they were lacking a little something… just a little more flavor. The crust was great and crispy on the edges and held up under the toppings. Caesar salad was fresh, but again I felt it just needed a little something. The octopus appetizer was good. Good compilation of the smokey grilled octopus and the fruit and the crisp earthy greens. There wasn’t a ton of octopus in it. I think we each got about 4 bite sized pieces. I will be back because I wanna try something other than their pizza! Their daily specials(I saw a pot pie) also looked great.

Awesome Pizza. We had the Scampi and the Vegetarian Pizza for takeaway. The Restaurant looks cozy.

Five of us went to The Red Grape to have some lunch and believe it or not, none of us ordered pizza. In hindsight, we aren’t mad about it at all. The Red Grape has some excellent hearty salads and a Mac and cheese worth high praise. Our waitress recommended the salmon Niçoise salad, which was a hit amongst our group. It has a nice piece of king salmon on top of a bed of mixed greens with pears, red grape tomatoes, and some boiled eggs. The balsamic vinaigrette dressed the salad nicely. Highly recommended! I personally opted for the Mac and cheese and made the right decision. The menu says it contains Tillamook cheddar fondue, which {Tillamook} is easily one of my top 5 favorite cheese producers. I added the bacon and broccoli to give it a little substance and that was critical to give it a nice added crunch packed with flavor. The portion was enough to fill me up without making me regret the lactose overload later. Aside from the obvious wood fired pizza, the menu appeared to have some burgers, sandwiches, and other pasta offerings that all sounded great. The service was a little spotty at times, but friendly nonetheless. This is a great stop for lunch before heading out for the day!

Used to be way better. The food was very so-so and service was lacking. So bummed because I used to love this spot. Good location– too bad it’s not what it used to be. I ordered the Cobb salad which would have been ok but there was like, no lettuce in it, and the bacon almost chipped a tooth. Maybe a good lunch spot but not for a nice dinner.

So this place was probably not the most amazing place to come to dinner in Sonoma, but it was decent for the cost. FOOD: My friend had some stuffed shells that she was not pleased with, but my husband and her husband had some burgers they loved with some pretty amazing fries! If you rated this place on their fries, it would be a 5. I had the feed store pizza which was a great concept, but just needed a bit more of the cheese. AMBIANCE: So interesting, there are nice menu item choices in a quaint downtown Sonoma, but the restaurant kind of gives you a high end chain type restaurant. I feel like they could change it to be a little nicer. OVERALL: All and all, go here if you need a deal, but I am sure there is better eats in Sonoma.

Oh no! The Red Grape is not nearly as good as I remember it being a couple years ago. On a recent visit, the service was gruff, the ambiance outdated, and the food was just average. Everything felt tired and uninspired. We went for a late lunch, ordered the soup + salad combo option. The«famous» tomato soup tasted strangely sweet, like Campbells. The caesar salad was SO fishy — way beyond a hint of anchovy — I had to send it back. The polenta sticks appetizer was the best part of the meal, but even those were just good, not amazing. I used to think of Red Grape as a casual, affordable lunch spot in Sonoma. Hope they can step up the service and add some quality controls to the food to regain their former Yay! status.

ENVIRONMENT Came here on a Saturday night, very short wait. The crowd seems much older, but could be the area. The restaurant has a breakfast place vibe, but is open at night. STAFF Super friendly and upbeat. Attentive. Everyone at the table reported the food as fresh tasting. SALAD Southwest Chicken — has the option of coming atop pizza dough! Though, this might defeat the purpose of a healthy salad. Typical southwest mix with beans, chicken, chipotle, tortilla chips, corn, etc. the chicken is cold, which is strange, but it’s still good.

I was given a gift card to this restaurant, which I had been to before and had a decent experience, not good or bad just okay. Decided to try it again as I was in town visiting family. I ordered a pizza. I couldn’t decide between two so the waiter suggested I do a split pizza for $ 1.00 extra. Great idea! I went with that choice. My daughter went with a pasta dish, Fettuccine Alfredo, I believe, which she enjoyed. My pizza was extremely oily, and after one piece I decided it was not what I hoped for. We arrived between lunch and dinner hours around 4pm so it was slower than dinner rush but was quite difficult getting our server’s attention any other time after food drop off. We finally found another server to get our check and we left. The charge for splitting the pizza was not $ 1.00 either, they charge per half, so 2 halves, and I believe it’s more than $ 1.00 per side. Would be helpful to know what the correct charge is, whatever it is. Based on 2 meals, 1+ and 1– I wanted to love the pizza! Especially after reading all the fantastic reviews. So bummed!!!

A-ok. Came here based on a recommendation that they had a good thin crust pizza. I may be spoiled, but their crusts are definitely lacking. It’s a thin crust, but mostly tastes and feels like cardboard. The toppings are quite unique and we enjoyed the ‘feed store’ toppings with a unique mix of Gorgonzola, Gouda, pepperoni and fennel sausage, but it would have been much better had they had a better crust. The truffled onion rings are an amazing starter though — thick, just a little greasy but with an amazing taste combo of sage, truffle and Parmesan. Nice casual family friendly atmosphere. If I was in the area again and craving pizza, I’d try somewhere else though.

The owner of our B&B told us that we had to visit The Red Grape. She was right! My, oh my! If it is comfortable outside, take a seat on the patio, and start your dinning experience with a glass or bottle from their wine menu. We chowed down on their Fig and Goat Cheese white pizza: Black Mission figs, Laura Chenel chevre, parmesan, and arugula. And their BBQ Chicken white pizza: Grilled chicken, applewood smoked bacon, BBQ sauce, red onion and garlic with aged gouda. Both were excellent choices! We will definitely be coming back!

I’ve been here several times but this is my first review. This place never disappoints. Excellent service, a large menu on which everyone can find something they would enjoy. They are known for their pizza but their sandwiches and salads are wonderful too. We tried something different this time. I hadn’t noticed before but you can order any salad on a nice crispy pizza dough base. We shared a huge cobb salad(plenty for two people) and eating the dough base with it was a lovely treat. I will order this again. Try it, you’ll like it!

After an event at Sonoma Raceway, a friend and I stopped here based on her friend’s recommendation. Overally the atmosphere is relaxed and the plating was much better than I expected. The short rib potato skins were good but I was hoping for more flavor. The Chicken Scallopini was tasty but fairly burnt on the edges and soggy on the bottom. My friend loved her shrimp linguine. Overally, not bad, but I don’t think I would pay $ 17 for it again.

This was delicious, flavorful, and filling! Would definitely come back:) The place was spacious, it was easy to get a table, and the food was definitely unique in that I wouldn’t have been able to replicate it with home cooking. We had the flatbread and the shrimp linguini, which came in sizeable portions and kept us satisfied through the afternoon of wine tastings nearby.

Cute little pizzeria located at the heart of downtown Sonoma. It was pretty busy when we came here, so naturally there was a decent wait. They also have a nice patio area outback for nice afternoons, and 2 tables for 2 in the front that are dog friendly. The patio in the back however, is not. The service here was ok, definitely not the friendliest bunch, which sadly does make the dining experience less enjoyable. The food on the other hand was pretty good. Can’t go to a pizzeria without trying a pizza– my husband and I shared the Sonoma pizza, an ahi tuna salad and the truffle onion rings. Good recommendation fellow Unilocalers, on the onion rings. They were very good, despite them using the truffle sparingly. The pizza was super thin crusted(a little too thin for me– even thinner than a flatbread), and had a lot of flavor. The ahi tuna salad was decent, but I don’t think they seared the ahi too well– maybe because there was to much coating on the outside? I thought it was just ok. And as a tip, good luck finding street parking! You’ll really need to circle around this area to find anything.

My husband and I split a pizza like so: ½ Pears and Gorgonzola * Applewood smoked bacon, sliced pears and gorgonzola cheese topped with hazelnuts. ½ Works * Our housemade sweet fennel sausage, Zoe’s pepperoni, applewood smoked bacon, roasted peppers, sweet red onion and garlic, aged parmesan Both pizzas were delicious — I couldn’t tell you which one is better. Very thin crust but they are about 12″ so you can share a pizza if you order a salad or appetizer. Service was excellent. Our server brought over freshly grated parmesan cheese to top our pizzas. Best item on their menu though? The Truffle Onion Rings with parmesan, truffle oil, crispy sage, paprika tartar sauce. Yum. Yum. Yum. I ate up all that crispy sage.
