Here’s the thing… The wine is actually decent(though overpriced), but the place is a total shitshow, full of messy bachelorette parties and tour buses. They also charge you for a wine tasting but if they don’t have an open bottle of what you want to try at 3:30(!!!) they tell you it’s too late to open another one. I’m not new to wine tasting. This is a dumb rule whether it’s because we «don’t serve yesterday’s wine» or not. You are essentially turning away potential buyers. Most vineyards I’ve been to serve open bottles the next day, but they know how to store them so they don’t go bad in less than 24 hours. Crazy. Anyway, if you are looking for more than a ‘let’s shove wine down people’s throats so that they buy’ experience, go elsewhere. We were actually told not to come on a Saturday because it’s too packed. Long story short, the wine is good but it doesn’t make up for a crappy experience. But hey… there’s goats!

I love these hard working guys. I’ve known Tom Lorman for many many years. About 15 years or more. He has always strive for quality product. You never take shortcuts. In that time I’ve watched the business grow and transform into what it is now. I’ve seen his family grow, and I’ve seen generations of the famous family dogs. I remember when the place was just a big barn and a field and now there touting a wonderful tasting room and a huge clientele that returns time after time for a quality product. I would recommend if you live locally that you join their club. No need to get the savings but you get to use the facilities there with your wonderful to take friends when they visit. I can sit here and talk about one of those wines that I like the best but then I’d have to choose one of those wines that I like the best. That’s the problem. I invite you to come out and see this absolutely beautiful location where you can sit outside comfortably play bocce ball enjoy the weather and have a glass of wine. Everyone that works there has always been more than helpful and it’s been a pleasure to go there time and time again. Be sure to do a sample tasting there and pick up a bottle to take home. They also have a cheesecake in there now where if you forget to bring some food with you a little bit would be able to be purchased there at this time. Be sure to say hi to Tom when you come in. Or throw a stick for the dog.

This is one of my favorite wineries in Sonoma. They are a bit off of the beaten path in that you head down a little side road(path?) off of HWY12. It is a great place to spend the day. They have a ton of delicious wines. I particularly like their 3 Lab Cab and their Sauv Blanc. My friends are completely head over heels for the Pinot Noir. The winery is dog and kid friendly. They have a great open field for picnics and tons of picnic tables. There is a great roped off area of members if you decide to join. I held my 30th birthday celebration here and we had a great time. We played bocce and cornhole and had our own tasting. We got two picnic tables and I brought in a bunch of décor and food. Larson is really popular. I got the feeling that they were not staffed well enough to handle the demand. I had to call 5 or 6 times over the course of 2 months before someone was finally able to book my reservation. It was worrisome because I am a planner and I like to have things nailed down, but Larson is such a great spot that it was worth the extra stress.

If you want a friendly, relaxed atmosphere to taste some great Cabs with a wide range of(reasonable) price points, this is your place. This place made our list of places to visit by having a little something for both my husband(Cabs) and myself(doggies). We didn’t walk in anticipating joining their wine club, but they have a fantastic deal to join and we got suckered in. Now that we are two shipments into our membership, we still have no regrets. Even if you are just looking for a spot to soak up some sunshine and visit the three Labs, stop by Larson for a tasting($ 10 for 5 tastings) and prepare to be impressed.

Beautiful grounds for a picnic, great wine and friendly hosts(including 3 labs!). Will definitely be back for some more of the 3 Lab Cab.

Love the friendliness of this place. $ 10 for a 5 flight tasting. Organic wines sans sulphate are on the menu Hanging hooks under the bar table as in most places now. family dogs roam the area — so sweet! Black chocolate and yellow labs Pete buster and bubba 2012 zin is excellent so is the Malbec.

Larson get five stars automatically for being family friendly. They have a little sitting area with coloring books in the tasting room, and trucks and tractors they can ride on outside. Seriously, a winery that not only allows kids, but encourages you to bring them… big deal. I’m a wine club member here and it is one of the best deals in wine country. Free tastings for up to four people, and additional discounts on wine you buy(including glasses). I have come quite a few times with friends: We taste, grab a glass to take out back, picnic(lots of wineries don’t let you bring a picnic, they get bonus points for that as well!), and play bocce ball. Perfection.

How do you distinguish between a 5 Star and a 4 Star review? I think it’s got to be the attitude of the people that run the show. We had a great visit at Larson over the weekend. It was everything I love about Sonoma County vs. it’s more snooty sister to the north — good wine in a relaxing laid back style. We were welcomed by 1⁄3 of the 3 Lab Cab team — he was on his back(in the middle of the tasting room) waiting for a belly scratch. Our server was both knowledgeable about the Larson wine as well as local history — a great conversationalist, I forgot his name(too much wine I guess). The wine was really solid. It spans the spectrum of great $ 15 — $ 20 «everyday»(the Wingo) wines to more in the $ 30 and up variety. We didn’t really plan on joining the club; but, we did and whether intended to or not — our pours got a little bigger and our flight much more flexible. Membership has it privileges peeps! They have a great outdoor area as well. Numerous picnic tables you can reserve, a members only bar, a couple of corn-hole spots, bocce and a huge wide open field area where people were throwing balls for their own furry friends. All in all, a very cool place to enjoy a sunny day — bring the kids and the dogs, it’s fun for all. BTW — we really did like the wine, we left with a mixed case + two jugs of the«Dago Red»!

Great price point for quality Sonoma wine. Property is great to have a picnic, play some Bocce while enjoying some wines. Nothing stuffy about this place, great vibe to spend a few hours or an afternoon in.

Well, I didn’t expect to enjoy this quite as much as I did, let alone join the wine club. Beyond the wine being pretty solid(which it is), the service here is just outstanding. I wish I could remember the gentleman’s name that gave us our(wayyyy too generous) tasting but that’s what I get for waiting more than a month to write this review. The Three Lab Cab and sparkling rose stand out the most and the wine club ended up being a great deal(especially considering I’m sharing it with a friend) — so we have some bottles to look forward to in fall and spring. The winery itself is very different from the others we visited in Sonoma — kind of a down country feel(almost bordering on gimmicky but not quite) with lovely views, tons of outdoor seating, bocce courts and ample shaded areas. Oh and the DOGS. Almost as if on cue(maybe it was), we were standing at the counter sipping the Three Lab chardonnay and a yellow, black and chocolate lab all rushed into the tasting room, all wiggly and waiting to be pet. For five tipsy girls, this was a dream come true. I loved it here. Good wines at a reasonable price, excellent staff, furry friends, and a wholly unpretentious, welcoming atmosphere. Will happily spend money here and can’t wait for my wine shipments.

Great outdoor space with lawn games(bocce, bags, and cowboy golf) but lots of families and kids. About 15 picnic tables in both the sun and shade. They have several dogs at the winery and I think other dogs are welcome if yours are joining you. The wines are middle of the road in my opinion but the cost is reasonable at $ 10/tasting which is waived if you buy a bottle($ 20-$ 40). So whether you enjoy this winery depends on how much of a wine expert you are and what you’re looking for in a tasting experience. I think it’s best for novice tasters and/or those who have kids or dogs in tow… However you may also enjoy if you’re looking for some sun and a lawn game to break up your day of traditional tasting rooms.

Wine was good and pourer Michael was great. Dog friendly environment. Over all, good but not great. Will try again in a month or so before making a final decision on this place.

Stopped by on a lovely summer Saturday – I was tagging along with a large group of my boyfriend’s coworkers. They made the reservation, so I was happy to just come along. Pretty straightforward, we had 2 big reserved tables, and they came by with our tastings. Didn’t get a chance to visit the vineyard or explore too much, but I’m coming back because I ended up signing up for the membership! haha. The last guy was especially helpful, I believe his name was Danny or Daniel? Thanks man! He actually closed the deal with us. really convinced us to join. Haha. It was quite lovely: there was a Bocce Ball court and bean bag toss as well! It was also really cute to see the family dogs hanging around. They really had a family feel to the winery. Until next time! :]

This place was more than welcoming. It was very relaxed and user friendly. If you have children they have an area to play. There is even an area for adults to play. Most importantly, there are table and chairs in the shade where you can have your own picnic and a tasting or a bottle. You can have a cheaper tasting inside if your intention is just to taste the wine. We didn’t have a picnic but we did have a toddler in tow so we paid the extra and sat outside. The other bonus of this place is that it is Unilocal friendly so make sure you check in,

Fun, little ranch style winery. I loved the Three Lab Cab and their Guerverstemeiner(yeah I butchered that spelling and am too lazy to look it up). It would be so nice to bring a picnic style lunch. There are outdoor tables with umbrellas, corn hole and bocce ball. Also, dog friendly! The Unilocal wine tasting deal is only good for the indoor tasting FYI. They also have a little chocolate and olive oil tasting table.

I can’t thank this winery enough for making our trip to Sonoma so much fun. The employees and management were a BIG part of our overall wonderful experience. We arrived in a large group, which is typically VERY frowned upon in Sonoma and Napa. We did not have a reservation for the reserved picnic tables and the staff did everything in their power to accommodate us and make us feel welcome instead of sending us away. We bought about a dozen bottles of various wines and camped out in the gorgeous picnic lawn. Another small group purchased formal tastings and sincerely enjoyed the educational process in the tasting room. 2 people from our group purchased memberships. We are excited to come back!
