I came here on a Sunday at noon. Let me give you the good and the bad. Bad: they only accept cash, They were already out of some of their meats by noon. The service both in getting orders taken, follow-up and getting your food is very slow. Never was offered a drink menu so I can’t tell you what they have. Their coleslaw is bland(thinks it needs a kick of acid) Good: Their patio in the back is very inviting and comfortable especially on a warm day. Sweet potato fires are very good as was their pulled pork. We also had their cubano sandwich which was ok. Might go back if I was in the area, but won’t make a special trip.

We decided to try this place because we saw it on Diners, drive-ins and dives. We really wanted to like it but will think twice about Guy Fieri’s recommendations or at the least do a little more«homework». On the positive it’s a dog friendly establishment — eating outside there were well behaved dogs and they all had water containers provided by the restaurant. The staff was nice and attentive. On the down side — their menu had next to nothing and it wasn’t cheap. Two sandwiches — they come with a side dish, we added an extra side of salad, 2 cans of Coke and the bill was $ 46 not including tip.

Stumbled across this place driving by & am so excited we did! Loved my BBQ Grilled Cheese Sandwich! Also ask for a side of their homemade potato salad– you won’t regret it!(And they serve $ 5 mimosas on Weekends!)

We went to Scheville BBQ for the 1st time on Memorial Day. Get this — we got the ribs dinner. You know why? B/C that(or cheeseburgers), were the only thing left for the day. And it was 2:00pm! They’ve got good vibes, but ribs on this early afternoon were … well, … a ‘lil tough. Just a little. That’s why 4 stars. Also cuz service a ‘lil slow — even though only a few tables. Go figure.

If I was just reviewing the food it would be 5 Stars. Unfortunately after 3 different times of calling to confirm their hours and then arriving to find no one there… even after waiting for over 20 mins and calling again… we won’t be going back. It is a nice place and great food but if you want to go here for a meal I would suggest having a back up plan ready.

We went there for dinner… it was the best smoked bbq I have ever had. We both had the chicken and ribs. I had the garlic fries, yummm. The waitress was very friendly and accomodating and the service was great. The owner is also very friendly. If I lived in the area, I would be there for dinner at least once a week.

Food was decent, but holy hell the wait. 40+ minutes… for sandwiches. FOR. SANDWICHES. One of which(the pork loin) was lukewarm, if not actually cold. The brisket sandwich was nicely hot, leading me to suspect they were possibly making a new batch of the gravy for it. You’d think someone might offer a free drink or some munchies if things are going so slowly, but our server didn’t stop by that entire time. It would’ve been nice to get a «I’m very sorry things are taking so long. Here’s a basket of fries to munch on while you’re waiting.» The friendly couple next to us even remarked that their food had taken a while, but nowhere near as long as ours. Would be 2 stars, but +1 for pleasant, dog-friendly outdoor seating and nice manager who stopped by to give our pooches some pets and biscuits. Cash only.

Service was bad — so, so bad. We waited at least 45 min for our sandwiches and no one checked on us. We literally had to flag someone down for everything, including our food and the bill. Several tables seated 20 min or more after us received their food, the bill, and left before us. No one even apologized for the wait.(Prob bc they didn’t even notice…) Food was ok but nothing too exciting. Don’t bother with the«chipotle» sauce — mine had zero chipotle flavor. I think it might have been sour cream. Would not recommend this place.

What a fantastic pulled pork, grilled cheese. Heavy on the amazingly flavourful pork — nice chunks of meat, with thick slices of a rich cheddar hugging it, melted nicely. The bread was not made up of massive slices, allowing the flavour of its filling to be highlighted. A great way to end a trip to Sonoma.

This is hands down some of the best BBQ in the country. Matt and everyone here just kill it on a daily basis. Try everything but my favorite by far are their ribs. Mouth is watering just thinking about them. The back patio is a great place to chill out after a long day of wine tasting. A must stop at spot for anyone visiting Sonoma.

BBQ is pretty darn good. Front of the house service although nice and polite is chaos to say the least. Sign says wait to be seated but then they say sit anywhere. Seated anywhere you have to call out to a random server to come by with menus. Once finally ordered it took a while which they warned us. Never had the same server twice always had to ask for everything. Hope they tighten up service cause the food is pretty good.

BBQ grilled cheese makes my day every time! It’s so good! Definitely not light, but a perfect place to eat before a day of wine tasting! The service is very friendly, but slow so you can’t be in a rush when you get there. Pet friendly and kid friendly with lots of charm!

That was the most unsatisfactory experience I’ve had at a restaurant in such a long time. Our mac n cheese cost us SIXTEENDOLLARS and it tasted like hamburger helper. Then we weren’t told that it was cash only and had to spend an extra $ 3 to take out cash to pay for our disappointing meal. How the f*ck are you going to have an ATM but can’t buy a square card reader or even bother to put up a sign that you only take cash? So not worth driving all the way to Sonoma for. If I wasn’t in the restaurant industry, myself, I wouldn’t have even paid for the food. I still can’t believe I spend $ 40 on lunch for TWO people.

The old saying«don’t judge a book by its cover» sometime supplies — but in this case I don’t believe it does at all, the food that we found inside this somewhat normal looking barbecue joint was spectacular… if it does not have a Michelin star, it should. My wife, son and I decided to have a little barbecue feast so we took a bit of a «road trip» to purposely end up at this place. We ordered just about everything on the menu, which resulted in a little bit of a surprise when I received the check because it is not necessarily your normal inexpensive barbecue, you might even say it’s a bit pricey — but well worth it; you can tell by the quality of the ingredients of the food being prepared. Matthew, the gentleman that waited on us, who I believe to be the person responsible for everything that happens in this joint, has quite the personality — and is not afraid to let you know what you should order, he was quite helpful and by the time he was done our bill was well over a hundred dollars. All in all it was a fantastic experience, well worth the money, and I look forward to going up north again. I can assure you it will be one of my first stops through the Napa-Sonoma area. Take a minute out of your busy schedule, and do yourself a favor and put it on your road trip list even if you’re not in the immediate area, you won’t be disappointed and hopefully even«Mateo» will be there, he’s quite entertaining…

I. Love. This. Place. Seriously the BEST French toast I have ever eaten(scrumptious cinnamon bread with lots of perfectly cooked egg dip) and PERFECTLY crisp bacon(not charred but cooked to crispy perfection). Eggs are literally always perfect. Love their onion rings and their Mac and cheese is TODIEFOR. Matt is a genius with his thoughtful and unique recipes and his barbecued meats are always mouthwateringly AMAZING. MUSTVISIT when in Sonoma. Matt rocks!

Freaking phenomenal. Service, atmosphere, all that was fine. The food was AWESOME. Ribs just came off the smoker and fell off the bone while eating. Awesome bbq sauce served on the side. The sweet potato fries were the best I’ve had. They cook them perfect so they are crispy on the exterior and soft in the center and they put a little spice and salt on them. The pulled pork grilled cheese is legit. This place really just makes good food. I can’t speak to anything else on the menu, but this was enough to make the 30 minute drive for any day of the week. I will be back, whether I can try anything else on the menu I’m not sure, I’m sure I’ll order the ribs every time I go because they were so damn good. Best BBQ in the area, wish they were in Napa!

maybe we’re snobs from living in the south, but we weren’t overly impressed by the BBQ food at this cute joint. The atmosphere was relaxing and nice, especially outside on the patio where it feels like a backyard bbq at the neighbors. We enjoyed playing trivial pursuit in the sunshine. Service was pretty good. An older man waited on us and was quite attentive. On top of our waters and gave us suggestions on the menu. I ordered the pulled pork grilled cheese and my husband got the ribs. The sandwich was good, but mediocre compared to many I’ve had in Virginia. My husband had the ribs and was disappointed that they did not fall off the bones whatsoever. You couldn’t use a fork on these ones. I was excited for the garlic fries which were sadly just regular fries with some minced garlic thrown on top. I wouldn’t spend the extra $$ next time. On a positive note, the sweet potato fries were amazing and the cole slaw was drenched in a yummy bleu cheese sauce. We may not return for amazing bbq, but the atmosphere & service did make it worthwhile.

We had the best food here and I really wish that I can give it a higher rating. However. The SERVICE. First off, the complain isn’t for me. We walked in and stood awkwardly for three minutes before one of the servers pointed to the a table and ask if that’s okay. We showed ourselves to the seat next to a large group. As we were seating down, the server were giving them menus. Another server, a small dark haired woman with a retro looking glasses came swiftly and gave us a menu while taking our drink orders. She was back quickly and we ordered right away since I’ve heard that their service can be slow. While waiting we played with the trivial pursuit cards on the table. That’s a great idea actually and made me wonder why there’s no other restaurants doing that. The food arrived in a reasonable time and soon we were eating. We ordered the pork loin(not served all the time) and the brisket sandwich. Both were delicious, though I think the pork loin tasted slightly better and the brisket a lot messier. They were both served open faced with a pile of fries on top. It was probably one of the better BBQs we’ve had in the North Bay though nowhere near as good as regular BBQ places in Texas. We were halfway done stuffing our faces when we noticed the very hungry family sitting next to us. They still did not have their food! They told me that they were waiting for menus for half an hour before we sat down, and now they have waited more than an hour since arriving and still no food. I felt kinda bad since they had two kids along. Their server moved very slow and was even argumentative and complained about how busy they are when one of the customers said they’ve been waiting for an hour and when she gave them the wrong thing. In contrast our server was attentive, responsive, friendly, and was great. Normally, I wouldn’t ding the restaurant rating when I personally have had good service and food. But while we were there several customers arrived around 2:30 and the same server I’ve complained about told them that the restaurant is closed. This happened about three times while we were there. The restaurant was closed at 3pm. If they don’t want let people in after 2:30, then why not say that’s when they closed? So come here for the great tasting bbq and the nice dog friendly outdoor seating. But if you want great service, find the nice dark haired retro glasses wearing server we had, or simply keep driving. And don’t forget to arrive more than half an hour before they close!
