Worked with the luxe for our wedding and I had a mixed experience. Long delays in communication prior to the wedding and had to repeat often the information. On the day of the guys installing the lights were left with a wrong brief and no supervision and I had to have them re-do the installations from scratch a few hours before the ceremony, delay catering and work around it. I had to oversee all the work myself to make sure all was done as we agreed in the contract. Of all the vendors involved in the wedding, the Lux were the only one cutting corners and not paying attention to very clear demands and references. For the price they charge I was expecting a much more refined result and attention to details.

Can comment only from experiences in the communication(mostly by eMail) but always prompt, courteous, and efficient. Big plans, big promises, and big delivery. What more can a guy(or gal) ask? R

Contracted with The Lux after being referred by my awesome wedding planner. What we wanted was pretty straightforward– some blush uplighting because we were getting married in a dark cave, 2 pin lights and most importantly, a GOBO monogram light for the dance floor. Setting up the contract and what we wanted was very easy, all done by email and a 50% deposit by check. Day of– I was horrified by the GOBO light. It was both upside down(not the hugest deal) but it was actually BACKWARDS. I sat down at our sweetheart table and my jaw dropped. It was so embarrassing to have it lit at the wedding that I asked to turn it off. After speaking to the rep at The Lux after the wedding, she said it had never happened before and she was very apologetic and waived the rest of our contract price. I would have been happier to pay the full price to have the GOBO done correctly as that was one aspect of the reception I was most excited about. 2 stars for uplighting because the pink was beautiful and it was very straightforward and simple to put up.

Really really happy with the Lux’s service. We used them for an interior ballroom with uplighting, draping and a few other pin lights for the cake and bar. The work turned out perfectly and the staff were super easy to work with, especially Sam. I would use them again.

We recently had our wedding in September 2013 and worked with The Lux to add drapery, lighting, lounge furniture, and a dance floor to the Barrel Room at the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena. Kate and her team did such an incredible job. I initially had a phone consultation with Kate, then met with her in person and continued to correspond with her through email during a 9-month period. Kate was very responsive to any questions I had and was flexible in making revisions to our proposal(which she did countless times). She was also understanding of our budget and tried to find ways to minimize our costs. The Lux arrived on time the day of our wedding and had everything set up prior to our guests entering the Barrel Room for dinner. Everything was absolutely beautiful, and we were very pleased with The Lux’s service. I highly recommend them for any special occasion!

Gillian and her team did an amazing job for our wedding on 10÷9÷10. they took an ordinary barrel room and converted it into a parisian night club. We had chandeliers hung over tables and a large chandelier over our sweetheart table. The room had wall washes in red and a fantastic draping over the front of the hall. Gillian was fantastic to work with throughout the process. I had the utmost confidence in her vision and attention to detail. We were not disappointed and our guests were amazed at how great everything looked. Once I get our photographers pictures I’ll post some of them. I can’t recommend them highly enough!!!
