After a sub-par experience at Jacuzzi we opted to go small. I perused Unilocal for a smaller boutique winery off the beaten path and found Meadowcroft Wines. With a near perfect review rating I was totally game! Located in a little shopping center(but totally Sonoma chic!), the winery was front and center. With an adorable seating area out in front we made our way inside where it was warm. Only one couple were inside tasting — score! Our pourer was super sweet and friendly and welcomed us right away.(Side note — nothing is worse than walking into a winery and not being welcomed) She explained the wine flights and costs. This was my one real gripe. I found the pricing structure a bit high. I understand the need for tasting fees(it prevents giant buses of drunkards from winery-crawling) but I’m so used to having these fees waived with the purchase of a few bottles. In this case we spent $ 30 on tasting fees, which were only waived on the purchase of 3 bottles per tasting. Yikes. The wines themselves were pretty great. Due to the Holidays they were completely out of whites — totally fine by me. Their Cab Franc was exceptional, but sadly only available for purchase by wine club members. Which I do find strange considering it’s available for purchase by anybody online. Hmmm… My favorite was the Merlot; something I’m having a hard time saying aloud. All I can say is try it. In the end I left with a couple bottles that I’m happy to have in my collection… just not the Cab Franc.

Meadowcroft is a great small winery/tasting room located right as you enter Sonoma Valley. My boyfriend and I made this our second stop, and we really enjoyed ourselves. Darby served us during the tasting and she was very knowledgeable and kind. They have a great Riesling that is not too sweet(I’m not a fan of overly sweet wines) and the Cabernet Sauvignon was excellent. It was a bit hot in the tasting room, as I don’t think there were air conditioners. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue, but California was experiencing a heat wave while we were there and it was close to 100 degrees in Sonoma! But you can’t hold the weather against the winery. Darby was wonderful and actually grabbed a local magazine with a map of all of the wineries in Sonoma, and she proceeded to give us great recommendations of which ones to visit. That was really appreciated!

The winery is located near other small shops which was nice. The host was very informative. The wines themselves were very diverse. I was a little turned off by the fact that when I asked for a second tasting of the ones we had tried, she filled the glass and charged me $ 11. She didn’t specify that we only get to try each wine once and if we wanted more, we had to pay per glass. This place was nice but I liked Jacuzzi way better.

What a great find!!! It was my daughters 28th birthday and she was celebrating with 5 of her friends. We went to Gloria Ferrer and were turned away because of our group size(6). They told us we could buy a bottle and leave. Are you kidding me? Embarrassed and sad, we crossed the highway and found Meadowcroft. Wow! Our service was incredible, the wine is awesome. Half of the group liked white and the other half red. Our server picked out perfect wines for each of us. We sat outside in a comfortable seating area and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The Meadowcroft experience really made up for the rude and snobby GF. Highly recommend it for great wine and awesome service by really nice and knowledgeable people.

This place is awesome! Even though it’s just a tasting room it had a lot of character. I love the back story of the wine so please ask. We were able to sit outside on the porch and since it was slow an employee came out each time to pour us wine according to our preference. She was very nice and informative. Overall, it was a great experience and the wines were soooo good and smooth!

Awesome beautiful winery. They was some construction going on when we visited but it didn’t stop us from enjoying the wine here. The 2014 reisling smelled awesome but the taste fell a little short. Im not really a red wine drinker, but their reds are really good. I really enjoyed the sangiovese, probably the smoothest red I’ve had. Very sweet staff.

I really didn’t think the wine was that great here. Poseiden just a few steps away was better and the service was too. In addition, I randomly checked in and they had a check in reward that they didn’t honor, so either they area either shady or their marketing Is very misleading.

We had a great experience tasting the wine and chocolate pairings for valentines day. The wines were great, especially the port. I’d like to give a special thanks to Tom Meadowcroft. Not only did he take the time to talk to us about his wines, but he gave us a tour of the vineyard and spent a lot his time with us. It made for a very special day. Thank you Tom. The tasting room is in Cornerstone, a really nice complex of tasting rooms, shops and gardens. It’s a great place for wine, kids and dogs…

Such a cute winery in Cornerstone. They are a relatively small winery, but they have some crazy cool wines. My favorite is the Merlot which has a jalapeño taste(sounds weird, and it sort of is, but in an AMAZING way). The staff was very friendly — they were very knowledgable about the wines. They waive the tasting fee with purchase of bottles. If you are looking for some truly unique wines, this is an awesome place to go!

Meadowcroft is a gem among the mass of tasting rooms in Sonoma; such a treat! I stumbled onto Meadowcroft by the Winery Finder app giving me a free tasting upon my visit(2 samples per person). Besides Meadowcroft, they also have another label named Thomas Henry for affordable day-to-day wine. During my Weekend, I stopped by Meadowcroft twice since I wanted to pick up more wine from them. It’s located inside Cornerstone Sonoma(cafes) making it the perfect place to have a tasting around lunch time. I would say both visits were pleasant, but their Creative Director was terrific during my second stop. Even though he was working solo, he was attentive to all the customers. I ended picking up an EXTRA, EXTRA bottle! 2011 Reserve Merlot — SALE $ 20.00 Velvety and sooo smooth. What I love most about is the cocoa aka chocolate finish in the end, I ended up picking two bottle, love it! Port — $ 36 Light Body Port that’s silky and so Delicious to drink! One bottle, please! 2011’s Oak Knoll Cabernet Sauvignon Although this wine was not for me, I love the experience I had with this wine. I TASTED Green Pepper in a wine for the first time, fascinating! After my visits, I am considering joining their Wine Club; 1-Tasty Wines 2-Affordable Pricing 3−20% off and $ 5 shipping. They ship 3 times a year; 4 bottles per shipment. You can choose red, white, or mixed. Thanks for the wonderful experience, Meadowcroft! Unfortunately we didn’t have Steven do our tasting, however we had a very helpful lady walk us through the yummy meadowcroft wines. Through the tasting our hostess explained aspects of the wine and would allow us time to enjoy them and ask questions. When we asked about different wines that weren’t involved in the tasting she was happy to substitute… I did that with the Pino Nior YUMMM! The logo is a very cute bumble bee which is tastefully displayed throughout the tasting room. The only thing I wish this had was a big patio a bit further from the parking lot. Overall the tasting sold us on the wine club… very excited for our first box to come in!

My husband came here as the first stop on the Platypus Wine Tour. I really enjoyed standing next to the vineyard, tasting the grapes right off the vine and learning how to taste wine. We had a small group tour and finished off by tasting a few more wines back in the tasting room. I have to say that I wasn’t a huge fan of any of the wines except the port, which I bought a bottle of right there on the spot! Otherwise the location, scenery and general feel of the places was excellent. Could imagine myself sipping wine there for hours if I could find the right wine.

First of all Stephen is awesome. The wines — better than average, but(for me) nothing to write home about. My husband brought me here as a birthday treat though. We had a private tasting under a willow tree out by the pond in the vineyards. Then Stephen sang happy birthday to me back in the tasting area. We sat by the beautiful water fountain set up outside which just mesmerized me. Stephen is awesome because he’s totally laid back and just a wine drinker like most folks coming out here to tasting wine. No snobbery here! Totally good time here.

This was one of my favorite wineries in Sonoma. We had a wine tasting underneath a willow tree right next to the vineyards– such a serene setting. If you love pinots, try Meadowcrofts.

We were lucky enough to have Stephen pour for us and even had the owner stop by say hello and recommend a delicious wine before he left. We started off with tasting 3 wines but then decided to stay longer and enjoy the ‘taco special’. We sat outside and enjoyed the wonderful May weather and atmosphere. Unfortunately the tacos were not up to par taste wise and seemed unusually tiny. Another unfortunate moment was that Stephan got a larger party outside and seemed to be running all around. We didn’t mind at all but it was a bit of a bummer when he poured, stepped away, we tasted and realized we didn’t like the wine and then had to wait about 10 minutes for him to come around again. All in all I will be back again and had a wonderful time!

Tasty, well made wines. Medium to high price points($ 25 — $ 60 /bottle). Simple enough tasting room, clean, modern, lots of natural light. Nice folks serve and socialize. Dog friendly.

Had a nice tasting of their wines for a friend’s birthday Sonoma bus tour — the first stop was Cornerstone and we had a chill time outside. They brought us our wines, glasses, and some bread/meats/cheese. There were umbrellas, chairs, shade from the trees, and various areas with outdoor furniture. It was really laid back(there were 30 – 40 of us) as we just got several bottles of each wine and got to serve ourselves, go at our own pace. To be honest I don’t remember much of the actual wines but they tasted good and I just had a nice time! Later on I looked at all the photos of the grounds and really regretted not walking around more — I didnt realize there was so much more to the winery that was so beautiful and people had weddings there! Make sure to explore if you have some time to at Cornerstone.

This past weekend I visited Meadowcroft with my boyfriend and another couple. It was our second tasting of the day so we didn’t yet know how to compare it to the other wineries. We were very impressed by the woman who helped us(I wish I remembered her name, but after a long day of tasting, I can’t remember much!). She even offered to take our photo, which was really nice… we didn’t even have to ask! One of the wines that stood out was the Mt. Veeder Cab which was absolutely delicious, but our favorite wine was the«All She Wrote» Port. We visited six other wineries and at the end of the day we ended up going back to Meadowcroft to pick up two bottles of the All She Wrote. I posted our photo that was taken there on Facebook and Twitter and quickly received a thank you. Not only is this a fantastic place to visit, but they are very active on social media, which is important these days. All four of us agreed that Meadowcroft’s wines were our favorite of the day. I am currently on a mission to convince my boyfriend to join their wine club. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. EXCELLENT experience. If you are thinking of going to Sonoma, definitely stop here.

An OK winery at best. I came here as part of a wine tour. It was a $ 5 tasting fee for 6 wines, which wasn’t a bad price. The wine glasses were a larger than usual so the 1 ounce pours looked really deceiving. We tasted the wines outside, they even had some grapes going under«veraison»(yayy for remembering stuff from wine class). They allow you to pick the grapes as well, although I chose not to do that. There was only ONE wine that I liked which was the 2010 Thomas Henry Sauvignon Blanc. Everything else just went haywire after that. The Chardonnay, Riesling, and the reds were just not good. There were quite a few bees around the area, which totally distracted me from tasting. It doesn’t surprise me that their hallmark is a honeybee for that matter even though that’s not how it came about. Yeah. I won’t be coming back here.
