My friend and I heard about this tasting room in a Fodor’s guide. The Pangloss Tasting room is conveniently located off at the Square. The tasting room is nicely air conditioned, beautifully decorated and has a number of seating options including tables, a tasting bar and restoration hardware-like couch seating. Our wine guide Logan was well versed in the wines and took time to talk though each varietal in advance of our tasting. He was very friendly, had a good sense of humor and helped to suggest fall and spring shipment options. We highly recommend this tasting room!

Everyone here is amazing. From Jeff to Mischa to Logan and everyone in between, you could immediately tell they wanted you to be here. It was a great feeling to be immediately welcomed and have a fabulous conversation with not only the staff behind the bar, but also the other guests — you could tell this was a result of the atmosphere and culture. This is a must-visit place place in Sonoma. Try the Monte Rosso :)

A bit more staff would help. This place is still amazing. The very little staff they have a exceptional. It’s spacious, relaxing and they have a great selection. Great place to meet with buisness partners and friends.

I may be a little bias because I am a member here, but i am a member for a reason! First things first, the tasting room is gorgeous! You can grab reservations for the lounge chairs or do tasting at the table! The place gets pretty full on the weekends, especially when it’s nice outside, so call ahead! Leah is always the best and always has a beautiful smile on her face when she is with customers. She is the one that easily convinced my friend and I to join the wine club and we don’t regret it. I have since been back with my sister to show her and definitely had a «red carpet» experience. Can’t wait to go back again and again. Their Rose is amazing(though you can only buy by the bottle) and their white wines are crisp and fresh! My go to place!

A beautiful spot to sit, relax, cool off and enjoy a tasting or a glass of some quality wines and the company of some friendly staff. Logan was knowledgeable and entertaining.

I love the ambiance of Pangloss Cellars. It feels like you just stepped into a Restoration Hardware magazine! We have visited a couple of times and they have a fantastic pairing menu, especially if you love Cabernet. You can also just opt for a glass instead of a flight. I have ordered a glass of their Cabernet blend and it has always been fantastic. The service is attentive without being obnoxious and the entire experience is just a treat. Worth a visit if you have never been.

One of the things about wine tasting with a bunch of other 20-something year olds is that the wine pourers often roll their eyes and expect another group of kids just looking to get drunk. This place was nothing like that. Our pourer was Ethan, and he was not only hilarious and friendly, but he took the time to explain each wine in depth, tell us his preferences, showing how knowledgeable he really was about Pangloss wines and wine in general. For $ 20 and 5 pours, it was a pretty good deal, especially considering the interior design/space and the service. A great place to stop by if you’re in Sonoma Plaza(especially after 5PM when most of the tasting rooms close)!

Very beautiful space. They gutted what had previously been there, so one side of the building is all stone, and you can see the old rustic rafters. It’s a great feeling space and for that alone I might go back, but wasn’t crazy about the wines. Since it’s in downtown Sonoma, and we went on a holiday weekend, it was a little crowded and the hostess was a little ‘do you have a reservation’ snotty, when we walked in, but once we got listed for a table of 3, gave them my cell phone number to text me when the table was ready, she kind of lightened up. We didn’t have to wait long and I enjoyed looking at the jewelry at Chicos next door. Seriously. I did. To enjoy Pangloss’ offerings, you can do flights or by-the-glass, and they have food and flight pairings which all looked good, one of our party got the White and Caviar combo, and he liked it. Personally my favorite white was a chardonnay, it was not your typical chardonnay, which is good, out with the oak and in with new… but I really didn’t like any of their whites, I truly just settled for that chardonnay because they only had 3 to choose from and I liked the others even less I usually don’t drink red wine during the day, and therefore may have missed out due to the focus on reds with some beautiful looking blends, however my friend had one of the Pinots and it was WAY too tobacco/smoky for me so not finding a good fit for my pallet is why I’m doing 3 stars. Since they produce a relatively small amount of wine each year, their model is direct to consumer through this bar and the wine club, which makes the wine bar feel that much more ‘exclusive’ The service was very nice at the table, all cute girls! I would come here again if I was with people who wanted to do a wine and food flight downtown and the weather was inclement, blazing ass hot, or otherwise not conducive to going out to wineries.

We really enjoyed our tasting here. First, it has a terrific location in the Sonoma town square — it was extremely convenient. My husband an I enjoyed our tasting with Ethan. He was informative and friendly. Bottles were reasonably priced and the tasting room was lovely. We would highly recommend.

Pangloss is awesome so we joined the wine club! With the club you get two shipments of 12 bottles per year. The two perks are that you can select your wines and you have access to exclusive wines not available to non-members. The tasting room recently opened and it’s beautiful! I could hang out there for hours. I can’t wait to return. Wine Sonoma Pangloss

Went for a couple glasses of wine. Got the wine and chocolate pairing which paired a locally made chocolate with the Pinto Noir, Zinfandel, and their Moon Mountain Cab. Was excellent. The chocolates all paired perfectly with the selected wines. The wines were really good and got a bottle of the Cab. Service was excellent and everything was well explained. Check this place out.

For posh wine tasting in Sonoma, this is a great place to go. The name comes from Voltaire’s optimistic character in Candide, as the owner was a philosophy major turned chemist at the University of Chicago. The staff is very friendly and talkative. Our guide, Jeff, was informative and even gave us a taste of a wine not on the menu! Overall, I think this is a great place for exploring and tasting interesting wine in Sonoma. I think in a few years, Pangloss Cellars will really hit its stride. But for now, it is definitely a great place to check out!

The former Glen Ellen location which has relocated to our town of Sonoma(in the former«Enotecha space, which underwent a bunch of renovations and clearly they spent A LOT of $$$$$$ and it shows!) FINALLY! An elegant, chill, laid back Wine tasting room(or should I say living room?) which looks like a showroom straight out of Restoration hardware! I experienced this beautiful facility last week with a friend. We arrived minutes before they closed(6:00pm sharp!) we were greeted very nicely and were sitted in a semi private section on a very stylish and comfortble couch, we ordered a Wine flight each(4 glasses of various Pangloss wines, ranging from a Pinot, a Cab and a Syrah and one other I can’t seem to remember?) all were great! I ordered a cheese plate as well(note: you cannot order a cheese plate with just a glass of Wine, as they are not a restaurant, just to be aware it needs to be with a Wine flight, meaning more than one glass of Wine) We didn’t feel rushed at all(especially after our having arrived just before closing, as there were plenty of people in Pangloss) I would definitely go back(looking forward to it!) and I have recommended my clients to their Wine tasting room as well as friends. 5 stars all the way! Pangloss, WELCOME to Sonoma!

Beautiful new space in downtown Sonoma. The original brick walls have such a warm, romantic feel to the space. Beautiful tasting bar, and super friendly hosts. Glad we walked up on this one on a whim. Nice Sauv Blanc, slightly Oakes, and gorgeous Pinots and GSM. The GSM is called Tenancity, and we took home two. Awesome place to even sit in their comfy chairs and have a glass instead of the tasting option at the bar. Loved everything bout this tasting room!

Love the tasting room itself with its mix of modern and rustic along with the most welcoming staff. That being said, the wines themselves were largely just okay and appropriate for the price point. I did really the pinot noir though with its brambly fruit notes. The lounge area around the bar is very inviting where one can order wines by the glass or a flight. If anything I’d opt to do that if you’re with friends in the area after going through the portfolio once. Of note, the price for the tasting is very good at $ 20 for 6+ generous pours though cannot be waived unless you buy 3+ bottles.

Attention to Detail!!! It is no wonder the wines are so good. From the minute you walk into the door and take in the amazing details of the building, to the great service, great cheeses, meats, and anything you would expect from the hospitality industry. Pangloss has it perfected. Their attention to detail really is quite amazing. I love every thing about this place. I can not wait until it rains and I can go sit on the cozy couch with a nice glass of amazing red wine and look out the window. So happy to have such a classy place on the Plaza!

What a lovely addition to the Plaza. A big spacious space that is welcoming and beautiful. Lots of different options for tasting or for just hanging out and having a glass. Very reasonable bottle pricing. We only tried a few wines but they were very good.

This tasting room is elegant, rustic, and comfortable. The wine is excellent and everything about this place feels good. The staff is friendly, knowledge and they serve the wines and lovely plates of food pairings with kindness and pride. They have flights, flights with food pairings, and wines by the glass. With large windows with a view of the lovely Plaza, a beautiful bar, and comfortable seating throughout the beautiful space, it’s the perfect place to spend time enjoying wine country. My personal favorite is the Tenacity wine, a lovely blend that encourages me to slow down & enjoy the moment. I cannot say enough great things about this amazing new addition to the Sonoma Plaza. The staff, the wine, the atmosphere… it’s all exactly what an afternoon in Sonoma needs.
