The location formerly known as Juma’s is now Sonoma Smog Center — went there looking for Juma’s, stayed and am very happy with the service. It’s now a test only center, personable folks there, including the owner, and good prices. My cost was 60 total for the smog check (I have a ’95 car) and that included the fee to the DMV. In and out in 30 minutes. The guys were straight up about my emissions, showing me the numbers as the machine churned them out. Moreover, the new owner is improving the place, looks wise, from the Juma days. There are comfy chairs, a big TV, and in the works are wifi, a new logo, and a partition separating the smog check from the waiting area. Definitely would recommend to all — easiest and friendliest smog check I’ve had in a long time. *thumbs up emoji*

Many smog shops do a free pre-check to see if the vehicle has a problem. If there is a problem there is no charge, and you get the vehicle fixed without getting a failed test on your record. This place is no bargain, they failed my truck and charged me $ 45.00. When I returned after having the repairs done, I wanted to have a pre-test done as I didn’t want the truck to fail again. The tech told me to do the pre-test, and the test was another $ 60.00.
I told him where he could put his smog test, and went to another test station that gave me a pre-test and a smog test all for the same price. The truck passed the test.
The tech at J & Z Smog seemed to be trying to find a way to make the truck fail. They make more money with a failure than a pass.

I sent my teenage son here to take care of the smog test on his own. They were helpful, professional and fast. I highly recommend them! You can grab lunch at Sonoma’s Best if you do have any wait.

These guys are really professional, courteous and do a very good job. I never have to wait a long time for a smog. They are also very efficient and honest. Usually as a woman when I have to go to any auto place I get nervous but these guys make you feel so comfortable they are polite and professional. I’m in and out quickly. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Car number 3. They can’t keep me away. Same great people, same great service. In one sense I don’t want to tell everyone about this hidden gem because I’ll have to start waiting in long lines. But, on the other hand, it would be wrong of me not to praise and promote a great locally owned and operated shop.
Too bad our 4^th car is a Prius otherwise it would be making its rounds here as well.
