Best chocolate covered Oreos that I have ever had. Selection is great, quality is amazing. I love visiting this place everytime I am in town.

I just visited the chocolate cow for the very first time. I received a very friendly service and the sampling was fun. My favorite Chocolate was the sea salted carmel and peanut butter cups. The town of SONOMA is charming and so is the chocolate cow.

The ice cream was ok. Unimpressive. Tried several flavors and they just weren’t delicious like I’d hope for. Would try something else next time I’m in the area.

Good variety of flavors. Delicious options for gelato as well. The cow theme is adorable. A perfect stop for ice cream and to cool off.

I rolled here in my Whip Black Beauty with some Friends after an Event . Its a Cute and Quaint little shop . They have a large selection of Chocolates and Candy . They also have Ice Cream. I ordered a Multiple Flavor Ice Cream Shake. My Server was Very Attractive Woman and was Friendly and Accomendating . I paid by Cash and Rolled out. I would stop here again if in the Area.

This review is NOT regarding the ice cream or the food that they serve ! They have some of the greatest ice cream in Sonoma, hands down!!! This review is regarding that rude, disrespectful and uninterested employee !!! We walked in today around 6pm and we were a party of 7! Mind you, I had two toddlers with me! No hello, no smile, just«what flavor would you like»!!! We picked one, then he kept asking back to back and mind you, only one other person was behind us and the other employee that was just standing their, could have helped him out! He still insisted on being rude and arrogant! I finally was fed up and said, listen, we are a party of 7, you need to give us a minute!!! He then rolled his eyes and walked away! Came back and all of gelato and ice cream were half empty! My husband asks him why they half empty for a $ 5.75 scoop, he says because it’s expensive, that’s why! I truly hope the owners read this and speak to him because he was just as rude to the guy that was in line behind us!

Unremarkable. The ice cream here is not impressive. The people who think of this as quality ice cream have not had actually great tasting ice cream and I’m sorry — you need to get out there and explore what the sweet tooth world has to offer because this is a poor representation. The Gelato is okay, I’ve had better. Mysterious unidentified chunks in the vanilla bean Gelato. The affogato is served in a small cup that was handed to us overflowing and sticky. Horrible ratio: too much Gelato hardly any coffee(possibly because she spilled it first before handing to us). If they can’t handle serving this without spilling all over themselves they either need to get bigger containers or get tidier servers. However, the store is quaint and cute in a folky way. There is also a decent selection of candy as well. I did not try the truffles, chocolate, or fudge here.

Drove all the out into town plaza to find out that the Chocolate Cow does not open until 10pm as it is listed on Unilocal.Very disappointed! Giving two stars for the great location in the plaza and clean interior.

This was the top ranking spot to go for dessert near by. Glad I did, the Crème Brule gelato was really tasty and the salted chocalte caramel had me wishing I bought another piece! I’m a chocalte kind of guy, so when I’m back in town I’ll definitely be stopping by again!

The quality of the ice cream here is totally unexceptional. You can do better by just picking up a pint of Ben and Jerry’s or Haagen Dazs. The milkshakes are WAY too sweet. Part of the problem stems from the fact that they don’t use actual milk to mix with the ice cream to make the shake — they use some sort of nasty vanilla-flavored mixer liquid.

Was pleasantly surprised by the selection! They not only had unique ice cream flavors but also smoothies and snow cones options! I tried the Marionberry sorbet(first time trying marionberry) and it was awesome. The perfect companion for walking around Sonoma Square on a hot afternoon!

Wonderful selection! They have fresh made ice cream as well as gelato. The place is very quaint, clean and staff is friendly and helpful. Next time I go back I will try the homemade peanut butter and chocolate cups. I like the almond bark and the coconut, macadamia nut, caramel clusters, dipped in dark and or milk chocolate. Yummy!

I think this is a great local place. I always like to sit on the bench and watch people’s expression as soon as they see the ice cream shop. It’s like wow xmas again. I like the chocolate peanut covered and the pecan covered with milk chocolate. I also get the dark chocolate with coconut. Its all yummy for my tummy. i rate this four stars.

The Chocolate Cow is a small shop that sells ice cream, gelato, shaved ice, handmade chocolates, fudge and all types of candy. There is something for everyone if you want a sweet treat. It is a very busy shop but the lines move quickly despite their two-person staff. It’s no wonder that this place was crowded with groups of people because of it’s prime location. It is in a mini plaza across the street from the park. I liked that they allow you to have two flavors within a scoop of ice cream or gelato. I decided to have a scoop of gelato in a cup($ 3.95) — half spumoni and half bavarian mint. It was good for what it was. Overall, decent local sweets shop. There isn’t any seating inside CC but outside they have a few tables.

I came here on a Thursday after having dinner at the red grape(only a few blocks way). I was really excited to try this place, as I never come to Sonoma(I live in Santa Rosa) after rushing dinner I looked up the business hours on Unilocal, and it said that they closed at 7. I arrived here at 630 and it was already closed. What gives? I’m pretty disappointed

Food: 2 Décor: 3 Service: 3 Came here and got the chocolate covered strawberry and vanilla bean gelatos after sampling a couple items. None of them of the ones I sampled were that great, but I felt obligated to buy something after sampling.

Gelato, ice cream, and shaved ice. What’s not to like? They sell a t-shirt that reads«Sonoma makes wines. Napa makes auto parts.»(Will post photo later). Wine trash talk!

I love to go here for a treat of their delectable truffles. The service was nice and it is a great, clean candy shop. The chocolate is high quality and I am never disappointed(well, I am when it’s gone!). Yum!

We came here as part of a wine tour and we stopped here for some dessert after lunch. The tour guide had recommended the ice cream here and this entire place is a huge candy store with a lot of childhood favorites! Everything was really fresh and I got the spumoni. It is layers of chocolate, vanilla and pistachio gelato, with fruit and almonds mixed in. I didn’t think that I was going to like it, but it was their most popular flavor and I just had to try it! The candied fruit threw me off for a second but the almonds and the mix of all the flavors was quite satisfying. I would recommend coming here for some sweets and it is very reasonably priced! It is a very small shop and kind of a like a gem that most people wouldn’t find in the small town of Sonoma!
