Not the best but not the worst. The staff is friendly, the food portions are huge but the food is very blah. Lots of locals in the restaurant so find a lot out about the area.

Quite excellent! The three of us had basic breakfasts — eggs/potato/bacon/biscuits. Big portions and it all was delicious.

Family dining at a friendly, accommodating place. Been following Juan around the area for a long time – glad to see him and family serving up delicious dishes. Go hungry! I always order ½ order of hashbrowns. You will not walk away unsatisfied. (Ask Violet if she is making tamales or pasties!)

We had a day full of hiking planned so we decided to pop in this little café prior to setting off on our adventure. It’s small but cute, easy to find and parking wasn’t an issue. After walking in the waitresses allowed us to seat ourselves and then promptly came to our table with menus. Both my boyfriend and I ordered coffee and we agreed that it was pretty darn good, and definitely hit the spot. For food I had the Denver omelet(ham, cheese, peppers and onions) with a side of fruit and a biscuit w/gravy. It was delicious, flavorful and BIG! The boyfriend ordered a three meat omelet, with two biscuits and gravy, and country potatoes and his portions were just as huge. My bf is an avid body builder and let me tell you, I have seen him put away massive amounts of food, but about 2/3rds into the meal he had to throw in the towel. Our sweet waitress even tried to warn him but he insisted he was up for the challenge. Needless to say I have a box of left overs sitting in the fridge right now with his name on it. The staff was very warm and friendly. Our waitress even took the time to talk to us and help us plan our hiking adventure. All in all I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to this little café for brunch. The charming small town atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food really started our day off on the right foot!

Great food, great service I had one of those big greasy burgers that are hard to find theses days was awesome. My son said his pancakes were the best he’s ever had and my wife said her burger was great as well. Will stop again next time in the area

We’ve tried their veg breakfast burrito and crunchy French toast. Their food and customer service is great!

The servers are so pleasant and the food is amazing. My husband and I both got omelets and they were huge! I highly recommend the vegetarian omelet! The side of fruit salad was so fresh and the biscuits are gigantic! I would definitely go back!

This review is just for the totally awesome breakfast that I had the other day. I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito and it was nothing short of perfection. It was ginormous and I ate every last bit of it. I can also say that I have had my first breakfast burrito that had cactus as an ingredient, yay me! My coworkers also enjoyed their breakfasts as well(chicken friend steak and avocado omelet), so it was mission accomplished for finding the best breakfast in Sonora. The Foothills Café is a little off the beaten path, but definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a super-yummy breakfast.

My wife and I discovered this little restaurant today. If you’re familiar with the area, it’s in the site of what used to be Doc’s BBQ(whimper!). I had the chili burger daily special and my wife had an omelette. Mine was a tasty, good size burger(1⁄3 pound I believe) with lots of chili topped with cheese and onions on top. My wife said it was one of the the best omelettes she’s had. If you care about such things(and I do), they serve Coke products. If you’re in Sonora, it’s a lot closer than Papa’s New Roost and the Woods Creek Café(which are also worth trying).

Super good breakfast spot. They give you a lot for your money. My breakfast burrito was massive and they made it the way I wanted. My drink was never left empty. Super good food and service! I definitely will go back and try more stuff.

We usually good to Woods Creek when in town but decided to try something different. Foothills Café has good food and service. There were four of us and we all tried something different. Dad enjoyed his chicken fried steak. The buttermilk pancakes were better than average as was the greek omelette. Their bacon is thick and delicious. Coffee is pretty good. Overall, a solid choice for breakfast.

There don’t seem to be a lot of breakfast options in Sonora, but this little café off the beaten path turned out to be perfect. It gives off an unassuming vibe, but turned out to be just the place for a hardened bay area resident, like myself to unwind and enjoy the countryside culture that I had long forgotten still existed. The food is very good. I especially encourage you to try the Mexican breakfast burritos. You also can’t go wrong with typical fare like the french toast and eggs. But even better was the friendly service. Our waitress, Morgan, was always patient, pleasant and helpful. It was so refreshing to be around down to earth people. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

Humble locale and building with big heart and taste! Please do yourself a favor and try the bacon maple syrup cornmeal muffins. Incredible. I took them to a work potluck and didn’t stop hearing about how good they are for weeks. I don’t know why but finding a decent breakfast/brunch place in The Tuolumne and Calaveras areas is a real struggle. The Foothills Café loses a half star for ambiance. If someone could put some real money into a more beautiful dining room, perhaps an outdoor patio, it’d be perfect! Well done, folks. Well done.

Great food. Interesting menu. Personal staff. Clean. Special orders, no problem. My favorite is the feta artichoke and bacon omelet with sweet potato fries. Their salads are great too.

This place is awesome! My wife and kids all got something different and it was all very good. I got the three meat breakfast burrito and added chorizo. It was by far the best breakfast burrito I have every had. The chorizo is a real treat. If you like chorizo you have got to try theirs. French toast, pancakes and omelets that my wife and kids got were surprisingly awesome as well. Totally stumbled on this place. I will definitely make the drive back. Oh and the waitress was very nice, friendly, very attentive at all the right moments. Awesome place

Went back, decided to have the grilled cheese — I was expecting it to be like The Rock’s grilled cheese — which is divine… this had no flavor at all and was swimming in grease. I was very disappointed, along with that… the fries didn’t come out at the same time and the waitress never came back to check on us. It was like we were an inconvenience to them. My husband tried to order Eggs Benedict, which was on the menu board outside, but we were told it’s only available on the weekends… that was off putting as well… oh well. Now we know.

Best fries in town. Wonderful breakfast and lunch. This is my family’s favorite breakfast place. Try the BAM omelette: bacon, avocado and mushroom

I called in a breakfast burrito order to go, the person who answered the phone was very helpful. Upon entering the restaurant I happy to see how clean it was and that I was greeted with a smile. My order was hot and ready for pick up. The burrito was very tasty lots of flavor and large enough to split up into 2 meals.
