This was our third time at this location. I ordered the House Dumplings, requesting pork. They are mixed pork and shrimp. I did not like them, nor did my significant other. We did not eat them and left all but the first bite on our small plates. The staff became furious. We were served our main dishes, which we good, and within a few minutes, the older, shorter woman came and cleared our plates, tableware, and even told my partner to drink the last few sips of his drink while she waited and took his glass. We sat for five minutes without anything on the table waiting for our check. I’ve never been thrown out before! And I paid for the dumplings I did not eat — $ 45 for two without any alcohol. Good food but terrible people!

Service was speedy and great, food was even better. 12 bucks for a plate of stir fry vegetables and chicken with ginger and a side of rice. I’d recommend this place to anyone.

We came here with a large group of 12 and everything was awesome! The service was quick and friendly and the food was the best Thai we’ve all had in Santa Cruz! All 12 dishes and appetizers ordered hit the spot! The egg rolls are a must and the Tom Kha with chicken was like the waitress said«best Tim Kha in Santa Cruz»! Can’t wait to come back!!!

Dinner for two. TomKah(coconut soup) very good. We waited over 10 minutes to be seated. Fish Cakes inedible, as they tasted pasty and were luke warm. Thai iced tea, while usually sweet, was so sweet I couldn’t drink it. Service could use an upgrade. There are better choices for Thai restaurants. Especially since this place was rated«Best in Santa Cruz» by the Good Times. Hmmmmm

We don’t live in Santa Cruz but always make it a point to stop by our favorite Thai restaurant whenever we are traveling south! We stopped in today and their service and food reminded me that they deserve a great review! We are always blown away by their quick service! The people who work here are always smiling and making sure we have everything we need. The food is delicious!!! We are so thrilled we came across this cute, comfortable, reasonably priced restaurant. Even though we are only here a few times a year, the staff always makes us feel at home! Looking forward to returning again soon!

Very delicious food and friendly service. I had green curry with tofu with vegetables, and it had just the right amounts of coconut creaminess and zingy spice. The wait staff was quite patient with our restless preschoolers too, bringing out a box of coloring supplies.

I LOVETHISPLACE! We always go to Sawasdee when we want Thai food! We used to live in Soquel, but recently moved to Felton, yet we still make the drive to Sawasdee because they are the BEST Thai restaurant around! The Panang Curry, Spicy Papaya Salad, and Tom Kha Soup are SUPERYUMMY!

After stopping at a few antique shops, we decided to grab lunch. Based on the reviews in Unilocal for Sawasdee, we decided to give it a try. It was maybe the best Thai food we have ever had! There were only two of us, but the choices sounded so good that we picked three entrees. We had Chicken Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice and Green Curry Vegetables. The flavors were all so distinct. So good. And everything was really fresh. Not only was the food good, but our waitress was nice, paid the right amount of attention and the food came out quickly. We live over the hill, but will find a way to make Sawasdee a regular.

Service: great Food: yellow curry with tofu was cloyingly sweet, the green beans were almost raw, inedible, and I couldn’t find any tofu whatsoever.

Can’t beat the friendly family service and the coconut soup. Really anything on the menu is worth getting. My daughter loves the fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce and I dig the green curry with eggplant. Rock on Phil!

The best Thai in the county. I’ve loved Sawasdee for a long time, and I appreciate that the staff always remembers me. The food is always consistent and delicious, and I’ve never had any problems with the service. Some of my favorites are: pineapple curry, Pad Kee Mao, Pad Kra Pao, Singapore noodles, their Tom Kha soup, basil fried rice, etc. Though I live much closer to their second location, I think their original shop is better and I’m not sure why!

I’m just gonna start off by saying this is one of my favorite places ever. the food is amazing and the staff is usually very nice. my boyfriend and I go once or twice a month. but if you get an older waitress with short gray hair and glasses, HAVEHERREPEATYOURORDER! I’ve had her mess up my order on two separate occasions. the first time was no big deal; the second time was terrible. I went in with a friend for lunch last week, she ordered green curry with fish. it seemed like she got the order down but then she came and asked her«honey, do you want any meat or tofu?» my friend replied, «just fish.» the waitress nodded. they brought our food out at different times which was awkward. they don’t usually do that. and we didn’t have any silverware so we had to steal it from another table. but that was no big deal. the really awkward part was that she brought my friend massaman curry with no meat. she asked the waitress, «is this the green curry?» and she said«no, you ordered massaman.» my friend was super nice about it. she said«oh, I’m sorry, that must’ve been a misunderstanding! I actually wanted the green curry with the fish. I’m sorry about that!» then, instead of just taking the plate back she gave her a lecture on how to order her food clearly next time, and then asked her to pay for both dishes and take one home to a friend, and then went on and on about how now the chef was going to be mad at her, and how she didn’t make very good tips at lunch, and now she was going to have to pay for it. it made us so uncomfortable!!! and she didn’t just do that once. she came up to the table five more times and mentioned something about it EVERY time! it was super unprofessional and made us both feel really uncomfortable, and it was annoying because we both knew she ordered green curry. the word massaman never came out of her mouth. so, like I said, great restaurant, awesome food… but have them repeat your order back to you. UPDATE: I received an apology and everyone since then has been kind and helpful.

Their house special spicy basil fried rice is delicious and very flavorful. My husband loves the chicken Gai kua. The papaya salad and tasty as well, it had a lot of papaya and very little carrots… i hate carrots in papaya, but this place made it well. The chicken satay here is a must order as well, its season perfectly and is very tender and juicy, the peanut sauce perfect. We finished our meal with coconut mango sticky rice which was rich creamy but not too sweet the mangos were perfect, they don’t serve it unless the mangos are good. how ever. the pad thai is is just ok… the best pad thai in santa cruz really is only served by Thai basil…
