This place is great, and Lina is the nicest lady you will ever meet. It was so nice to meet her today. Since this was my first time, she gave me a pen with her information on it and even some Halloween candy as I was leaving! Don’t waste your time on the big guys; support this genuinely local business.

I have done my research, and there are only a handful of tailors in the South Bend area. I can assure you none of them has the charm as Lina. It’s hard not to like her. Lina has been running this shop for decades, and being from Italy, she knows her craft. I brought two items to her, a corduroy sport coat that I wanted brought in, and she did so beautifully, keeping the fabric smooth despite its imperfect fit. I also had her hem some new dress pants with just a hint of a break, and she executed that perfectly. Lina knows how to make you look good, but also knows how to make you feel good. When I brought in my pants, she recognized the quality material and exclaimed that the material was«heavenly». Lina also doesn’t try to sell you on anything you don’t need. On my second time back I brought in several other items, including another coat, and I had her check the fit. She thought aspects of it were fine and assured me I didn’t need a few of the adjustments I was contemplating. The sleeves needed shortening so we tackled that. One of my shirts had a snag tear, and she offered to fix it for free. There is a large body of clientele who are dedicated to her shop, and now I can see why. I’d encourage any of you to consider using Lina for your services. There are folks who come down from St. Joseph MI just to see her. There are also several other tailors in the area that exhibit a bit of attitude. I don’t know if it’s the testosterone or what, but Lina will treat you like family. Every time you see her or call her, she wishes you her most heart felt blessings and good will. What’s not to love?

First off, I am struggling to write this review because I can’t find words that are positive enough to describe my interactions with Lina and the quality of her work. I had her alter my non-traditional wedding dress for me on two occasions — once for my actual wedding and then again so I could wear it to another event. She was very meticulous with the work. The dress is made up of a few layers of a sheer, billowy fabric with some more solid layers underneath. The outer layers are the sort of material that doesn’t mend and show every flaw. She altered them beautifully both times to perfection. I don’t have clothing altered that frequently, but I will bring any future alteration needs to her and I strongly encourage others to do the same.

This is one great seamstress/tailor! Walk into a cramped space, not sure what to think and be greeted by Lina. I was in town for business and a couple of buttons fell off my winter coat. I asked if she could sew them on while I waited. She said she would. She has a loyal following just witnessing the people that came in to pick up their clothes. I liked the autographed picture of Brian Kelly, the ND foitball coach. This is a throwback to the old days that your don’t realize you miss until you see it again.
