The place looks run down. Trash and old construction supplies liter the grounds. The air conditioner rattles loadly and the display is broken so you can’t see the set temperature. You can see outside around the unit. There are cob webs in most of the corners. The shower has very low water pressure and the water was brown when it was first turned on.

They need to close this hotel down. The new owner was pleasant enough and said he was trying to update appliances etc. But it seems to need a racking ball to demolish it to the ground. Every hotel in South Boston was completely booked. I had an family emergency and could not make reservations to the better «Marriott» just down the street from this hole in the woods place. Please don’t waste your money or risk your health. Not only to do you have to be concern with bed bugs but frogs seem to overtake the place in the evening hours. Dead roach shells where they were smashed and left on the wall. I could not rest peacefully, ended up sleeping in my car. I really don’t understand how they pass inspection. The smell was retching also. Sheets stained where you could tell someone bleed on them. Just disgusting. As of March 2014, it was crappy.

I stayed here on a trip to VIR. The hotel is very cheap. It is an old hotel, worn, remodeled many times, not aging gracefully. It won’t impress your wife or snobby friend who drives a Porsche. The room was clean, towels were the thin type common in cheap hotels. Microwave & refrigerator in room. I could feel the rotten floor near the AC unit giving way below the carpet — eeek. The staff is friendly. Free breakfast is included, if you aren’t too picky. There are better choices nearby if you are willing to pay a few dollars more.
