If only there was a way to give them no stars. I scheduled with them twice, both times I took time off work to be here when the guy came. BOTH times they cancelled at the last minute, leaving my house in pre-​handyman disarray and forcing me to burn vacation time. I had used them last summer and they were great, but not any longer. Steer well clear of them.

Finally getting around to reviewing Boston Maintenance Solutions.
I hired Noah about a year ago when he was first starting out in the business. At first, it seemed Noah was the perfect choice for the job… After I closed on my South End Condo, Noah came by to take some measurements. He left and emailed me a quote which I thought was reasonable. Noah stated that it would take no more than three weeks to finish the project. It took much longer. I will say his carpenter, John was a man who knew what he was doing. His work was nothing less than professional. I would hire John for a project without hesitation. Noah seemed a unorganized (he emailed about closet door measurements asking if I could measure them for him again) not something you ask a guy like me with a very busy schedule. Some of his emails were unprofessional and he seemed to have too much on his plate so to speak.
All in all, I’m not sure I would hire this company again for a renovation. John’s work was professional but the scheduling done by Noah was confusing at best. Noah really pissed me off toward the latter part of the reno but I paid my bill and moved on. Lesson learned. Noah is young and hopefully learns from his mistakes.

These guys are great! They built an entrance way between two of our classrooms. They were extremely nice to our students with special needs and overall did a great job.

After I wrote my review, I wrote a follow up note about Noah’s lack of follow up. Noah called me and very loudly complained (screaming was more like it) how he could not believe I had mentioned on Unilocal about my experience and turned the tables telling me how difficult it had been working with a demanding person. I confess, I am a demanding customer having been a contractor for 27 years, but I only asked that he respect our contract time tables and work we had outlined together. I will not lower my rating because the quality of this work was 4 star, but I do want customers to know there is an unprofessional side to watch.

This is a revised version of a 3-​star review I originally posted. My original issues concerned miscommunication between BMS & the handyman who actually did the work (and did a good job), that involved a late arrival and little knowledge of the task I had contacted BMS to do. The work was done EXTREMELY well, but the office-​side of things was a bit disappointing. In response to my original Unilocal review, Noah from BMS reached out to me on email to let me know that they had held a meeting to discuss the issues surrounding my appointment, it shouldn’t happen to someone else in the future, and offered me a refund. I’m happy to let this review now stand as a testament to the quality of work done, the response from BMS, and the power of Unilocal

Nothing but positive experience in helping me prepare my condo for rental. Three weeks worth of work, delivered as scheduled and priced. Very flexible with small changes, appropriate billed for big changes. Easy to work with, professional and solid.
Nothing pleasant about home improvement or repairs; it’s disruptive, it’s expensive, there’s many unknowns. Communication is key.

After reading reviews on Unilocal,I decided to use Boston Maintenance for some minor work in the house. The person that came out to do the job rushed through it. Afterwards I did a bit of research on the work that should have been done and realized that a few steps were skipped. I mentioned this to the company, and Noah, who is extremely nice called and rescheduled to have someone else come out to do the work. A week after the work was done a second time, it started to come apart and eventually, I did it myself.
Although Noah and everyone that I spoke with are very friendly and nice, the workmanship leaves much to be desired.

Look no further for a contractor– Boston Maintenance Solution is the BEST by far!
I am a first time home owner who recently purchased a condo in South Boston. I had several ideas of what I wanted to do to renovate the apartment but was worried and very anxious about finding a contractor. Boston Maintenance Solutions took all the worry away the moment I came in contact with them. Noah who handles the logistics of Boston Maintenance is beyond friendly and very quick to respond to emails and phone calls. He does whatever he can to make the client happy and strives for perfection from the Contractor’s and Crew.
Noah set up a time that worked for us to meet with the contractor, John… this happened to be after 5 o’clock on a rainy Tuesday evening. John was 15 minutes early and spent 90 minutes walking through our home giving us honest opinions on what could be done. He priced out several options for us (I got a little carried away and at one point wanted to renovate the entire apartment). Noah and John priced out everything and gave us a reasonable quote. My boyfriend and lack of budget quickly talked me out of remodeling the whole apartment and we decided to get new floors and fix a few holes in the wall.
Noah provided us with a list of glowing references and then set up a time for the work to begin. We chose two weeks after the closing on our condo. Of course, our closing got pushed back and I called Noah absolutely panicked because I was afraid they wouldn’t be able to do the work prior to us moving in. Noah set my mind at ease and was able to find us a new time on very short notice.
Once we closed on our condo, the work began the next day! Despite tearing up all the floor and patching a few holes the apartment still appeared neat and organized. Noah and John were on top of everything.
My floors and walls look absolutely AMAZING! Boston Maintenance did a great job and made the process of renovating stress-​free and dare I say fun? I can’t say enough wonderful things about Noah and John and the crew.

I give 2 stars because during the phone conversations Noah was very nice and welcoming. We had a miscommunication and I had to patch a problem by myself during my trip to Boston (I live in the West Coast!).
Then we entered into a negotiation for a major remodeling. Noah dumped me with lame excuses, simply because he did not like my starting point and … because he can afford it!
Eventually 2 5-​star ratings are not a good statistics, as well as my 2-​star. Good luck to those who will be dealing with them

We needed our closet to be redone and, after checking the reviews on Unilocal,asked Boston maintenance solutions to come in and provide a quote. John was fantastic… came in and considered a couple different options with us. Noah provided us with a totally reasonable quote and both John and Noah were awesome to work with. The finished product is great and we will definitely contact them again when we need work done. Highly recommend!

I contacted Boston Maintenance Solutions to repair my doorframe. I had actually broken in to my apartment on two separate occasions when I was laundering clothing and *forgot* to carry my keys but still left the door locked. Alas, the door frame was weak to begin with and I thought I would save on calling a locksmith by smashing through the door and later super-​gluing the door back. not a good idea if you do not actually own the condo.
It turns out that I did end up saving money, however. After an initial email, I was contacted expediently by Noah, one of the employees. Him and another came to visit and provided an estimate to repair my fractured door frame — which was less than what I would have paid a locksmith.
Someone came and repaired the door frame while I was at home and did a beautiful job without much damage to my wallet. I cannot imagine a more painless end to this tragic story!

I recently worked with these guys to install a screen door at my condo in Davis Square and had an awesome experience. Noah responded to my initial inquiry and was my main contact throughout the whole project — a small detail I really appreciate, because I hate getting passed around and having to re-​tell my story.
They were able to get me on their schedule quickly after I purchased my own supplies. Todd came out to do the work and we quickly identified a few flaws in our initial plan, but he was awesome. It was supposed to take 1 day, but ended up taking 3 different visits, to NO fault of these guys, and what impressed me was that he came back 3 mornings in a row and the job was done promptly and my door came out great. The price point was fair and reasonable and I will absolutely be calling them again for small, or big jobs around my condo.

*SO* Happy to have found Boston Maintenance Solutions. I am a small biz owner and had a pile of handyman type projects building up. I was nervous about trying out a new company after the last one didn’t work out great (they hung shelves up without the plastic brackets and yup, they came out of the wall. Who does that?!), and to my delight BMS is courteous, efficient, polite and economical. Thanks John and Noah! Will definitely do more work with you guys!

So when my boss asked me to find him a good contracter for his kitchen remodel (oh the joys of being an office assistant), I pretended like I knew exactly what I was talking about while secretly wanting to cry. I’m a recent grad who has relied on my dad, boyfriend, or landlord to fix anything and everything, ever. My «tool kit» is floral patterned. I have trouble with the concept of drywall. I once superglued shelves to a wall. Thankfully, a friend of a friend had recently used Noah for something or rather and told me they could make this all better.
And they did. They were awesome– responsive, never made me feel bad about not knowing what things even needed to be done, and totally reasonably priced. My boss was so happy with the kitchen remodel that he asked them to renovate/​retile the bathroom as well. Score one for this minion.

It happens to the best of us.
Stuff breaks. Little stuff. Annoying stuff. Stuff you can kind of live without fixing because you’re busy, you’re lazy, you’re tired, whatever.
Light bulb stuck in the socket? Oh well. You have five more overhead lights that are working perfectly fine. You can see well enough.
Curtain rod too heavy to install on your own? Meh. You can get dressed in the closet.
Master bathroom toilet won’t flush? That’s what God made guest bathrooms for!
And so on — until that one thing finally breaks that pushes you over the edge… and then you’re screwed because you have no idea where to turn to get everything fixed.
This was my life until I discovered Boston Maintenance Solutions. For a very reasonable price, they will come to your house and FIX STUFF THAT’S BROKEN. Quickly. Competently. Cheerfully. They also paint, do plumbing, handle electrical stuff, and pretty much anything else you need done in your home. What’s more, they’re based in the city of Boston, so you won’t hear any whining or complaining about how «it’s too hard to come into the city» (a perpetual gripe of mine back in the olden days when I used to use Angie’s List).
I have been looking for a solution like this forever. I am so thrilled with these guys and so grateful I found them. The best part is, I feel like I accomplished so much… without having to lift a finger!
