Ethan Allen Motel

Older motel in need of renovations and updating. Non– smoking room was so offensively stinky of stale smoke that I took my bag in the car with me when I went off for the day. Didn’t want my change of clothes to stink. When I went to hop into my lumpy bed I found a disgusting stain on the underside of the bed spread. I through it on the floor, as it was too late to go to the office. The next morning I went to the office and asked the elderly gentleman that runs the motel to please have it laundered. He apologized. I came back at the end of my second night, (parents weekend and everything is booked in Burlington) and went to hop into, what I as subsumed was a clean lumpy bed… The gross discussing unlaundered bed spread is back on my bed!!! Yep! I’m pissed and grossed out! Never again! I’d rather sleep in my car! Unacceptable!

The main selling point of this motel is its price. At the low price of $ 58 a night, I doubt you would find a cheaper alternative in burlington (the hostel is $ 40 a night but is unfortunately women’s only this winter). Besides the price, the room is clean and spacious. You get an electric stove, oven, microwave, mini fridge AND a restroom with a shower that provides instant hot water when requested. The single room is also fitted with a queen sized bed
Now to the negatives, the walls here are paper thin so you can hear your neighbors quite easily (mostly shuffling feet). Luckily, both my neighbors were by themselves so there no chatter to be heard. Guessing most people who stay at motels are staying there by themselves so I doubt you will have a problem either. Another thing I did not like was that the motel seemingly has no wifi. I say seemingly because there are networks available but I could not connect to any of them.
In summary, the Ethan Allen motel is the best bang for your Buck. It offers a comfortable stay at a ridiculously low price that even I cannot complain. Combined with the fact that it is also walking distance from the airport, the Ethan Allen motel is a no brainier for the dollar conscious traveler.

Friendly, Family owned Motel. So much better than a chain. Rooms are neat and clean. Convenient to Burlington and the Airport.
