Very clean and modern. Our single room with two queens was nice and spacious for my family of 5. Had a fountain drink and coffee station available 24 hours. Free breakfast was great and plenty of food. I would stay here again.

Why did we get channels in the living room we didn’t get in the bedroom? One of the remote controls didn’t work. The tub… entirely too big. I felt like it was going to swallow me whole. Extremely long sink counter in the bathroom… but only one sink? Why? 2 stars for the décor of the room only. Btw, no one helped us with our luggage. We hardly got a greeting.

Not happy with my stay. Booked thru Hotwire. 11 day reservation over Christmas. I was put in a room over the equipment/maintenance room. Railroad track in the back about 30 yards from my room. Plenty of trains too. Door key card needed replaced 4 times in the first 5 days. I was fortunate enough to be able to get out of the last 6 days of my reservation. The Holiday Inn Express next door is owned by the same Franchise owners… FYI

We stayed at this hotel over the Thanksgiving weekend and I am writing this mainly in appreciation for their hospitality. You see we had booked for Wednesday and Thursday night through Hotwire but the terrible storms impacted our travel plans and we could not come in on time. We contacted Hotwire to shift our dates to Thursday and Friday nights and they refused to help us. The company we bought trip insurance through also refused to help us(wouldn’t recommend paying extra for that– what a scam). So finally, I called the hotel. They were able to quickly make the change and were extremely understanding and kind. The hotel was very clean and decorated nicely for the holidays. Beds were comfy and they had a delicious complimentary breakfast. The hotel was also very well located.

nice breakfast — no restaurant but you can walk next door to the Holiday Inn — The hotel is near the railroad so we heard every train that went by — nice rooms with frig. and microwave — our tv wasnt working but it was fixed in matter of minutes —

Great stop while in transit with a rental truck. Arrived on Tuesday when they have a nice manager’s reception– plenty of wine(kept offering to refill) and veggie tray including asparagus. Nice lobby & breakfast/snack area. Very comfy room. Restaurant next door at Holiday Inn is so-so but after some wine we didn’t really care. Breakfast was decent. Will definitely stay again if in the area!
We were on a long drive back. And they only had one room size available. The room was nice but the woman at the front desk was not very pleasant. But granted it was like 1:30am when we got there to check in. Only went here because it was the only one reviewed on Unilocal.Doubt I will ever be in Charleston again but if I ever do. This will not be my first choice. But if you don’t have a option like we did. It will do…

This is a really nice hotel and it’s only a few blocks from a cluster of little restaurants in historic South Charleston near the Mound. The negative to the location is that if you’re on the wrong side of the hotel you can hear the trains go by(this happens only a few times a day though). The room was nice and spacious with a desk and office chair as well as an easy chair with ottoman and a bench. The closet actually had 2 magnetic doors instead of just being a cubby. There was a little nook which contained a waist-high mini-fridge, coffee maker, and space for an optional microwave. The shower head was nice and had adjustable flow. HUGE plus here: outlets that I didn’t have to move furniture to get to! There was an outlet integrated on each light fixture. It made it SO much easier to charge my camera, phone, and laptop. This hotel has a really nice breakfast, including coffee, tea, several kinds of juice, 6 dry cereals, different flavors of oatmeal, pastries, bagels, toast, fruit, a waffle maker, and several hot items(sausage gravy & biscuits, cheese omelets, bacon, scrambled eggs, etc.). In the evening, they put out snacks: cookies, fruit, peanut butter and jelly sandwich materials, and a soda fountain. It’s nice to get back from work and grab a small snack before getting ready for dinner. There is plenty of seating in the lobby areas and the computer, fax, and printer in the business area worked fine. The wifi in the room worked great too. I would have given this hotel 4 stars, if not for the hideousness on the comforter. I shall tell the story. I stayed here 2 nights for work. I got in late, my roommate was already in bed, so I just brushed my teeth and tucked in too. I woke up in the morning to find that there was a 2“x3″ smear of dried blood on the comforter. I can say with certainty that I was not bleeding in the morning, nor did I bleed that night. It looked like someone had had a nosebleed and then not bothered to mention the soiled comforter to the staff. GROSS, people! I called down and the night maintenance guy(it was 4am) came up and immediately replaced all the bed linens. There were no other cleanliness issues. The comforter has a sheet on one side and a cover on the other, so I doubt I actually touched anything hazardous. I’m GLAD there are white comforters so that I saw this before touching it. On a floral comforter I probably would’ve sat on the mess.
