I’ve eaten at the Lost Dog at least two dozen times and never have I had a bad meal. From baked, broiled and fried seafood, prime rib, and special pasta dishes, this is one of the best local eateries. Parking can be a challenge as it so popular, but it seems there is always a spot. The service is outstanding, whether eating at the bar or a booth. The noise level is to be expected at a small pub like this. Good food, a fine pour for drinks and great service. I hope they don’t lose the formula.

This little place is somewhat unassuming. You may drive by and never know it’s there. Actually we have been living about 5 minute drive away and after about 2 years, we just finally decided to try it. I wish we tried it much sooner! This local pub is a small and homey place. Neighbors and friends are at the bar chit catting. We sat in the small dining room in a booth. We stared with the warm crab dip. It was definitely gooey and yummy comfort food. Then we ordered the buffalo shrimp appetizer. It was delicious. A nice change from the normal buffalo chicken! Along with that we ordered, from the specials menu, a salmon pizza. It was delicious. It was a 12″ pizza… perfect for two. The crust is a bar-pizza crust. Not big and doughy but not thin and cracker-like. Very good… with a lemon cream sauce, capers, salmon and arugula. We are fans of the Lost Dog Pub and will make it a regular stop.

Great pub. The cosmos and other drinks we ordered were great and fries were awesome. Nice environment.

Fast becoming one of our favorite places for a casual evening out with friends. Very good food, excellent service. They get crowded during the season, so be aware it may be difficult to get in.

A great local bar that welcomes everyone. It gets busy at lunch, after work and then for dinner so they are doing most things right. Menu is kept simple with seasonal specials as available and majority are reasonably priced. Staff remembers what you drink and is quick with the attention.

Bugers are ok, stuffed quahog was very bready, and the absolute worst fish and chips I ever had. It was a frozen patty that was awful. You would be better off eating a Mcfish sandwich from Mc Donalds then that crap.

My stomach is still churning from last nights dinner. Beef Marsala was greasy. The jumbo shrimp with vodka sauce on linguine was better. I will go back but Lost Dog is a burgers and appetizers place. Pub food is what they are best at i’m sure because summer time and even in the dead of winter the place is busy just don’t expect high end food and you should be ok.

This is strictly a local yokel-type place. Smells funny when you walk in(carpeting from the 70s, I would guess is the source). Dark, a bit dank. It was pretty full, so maybe the food is good? But I wouldn’t know because we bailed about 15 seconds after entering.

Great service, good chowder, and our food came fast. There was no issue with having our 2 year old there either.

went here the other night with my dad for dinner and was really impressed, the food was great! I had the cod sandwich which wasn’t coated is gross heavy batter but light and moist! the slaw was great, fries were crispy– totally delicious! my dad had steak tips which he said were really good but he had a few bits that were really chewy and inedible. personally I eat nothing but seafood on the cape because well, its the cape. the service was fast and friendly, we sat in the bar area which was a little crowded but to be expected as it was a Saturday night. we stood waiting to be greeted for a little longer than normal but once we were sat everything was spot on. will return for sure! great food and very reasonable prices.

My favorite place on the Cape! Great food and a friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend the baked garlic brie appetizer, the baked scrod(which melts in your mouth), French dip, and what my friend says are the best fish and chips on the Cape.

Visited last week. Food was good. Waitress was good. Moderately priced for CC. Will be back. Not a high end place and doesn’t try to be. A legitimate pub.

Always a good basic choice for informal decent food. Had scallop roll, should have had burger, much better!

Came up to the Cape in early December and like usual, we stopped at the LDP on the way in. Lunch was fantastic, I had a pastrami ruban that was out of this world, added their home made spicy ranch on the side. The wife had a scallop wrap, that was magnificent, I took a bite to make sure… We also came back at night for drinks and the place was packed… It always funny, because the people know we’re New Yorkers and we hear about it!

The tale of two businesses. for Cape folks, think the Squire meets American Bar&Grille. The bar side is so comfy. reasonably priced drinks, good bartenders. the tight crowd of local regulars makes you work to break into a conversation but a fun challenge. The restaurant side is small but comfy. I was told to try the eggplant parm and it didn’t disappoint. my daughters turkey burger was super bland but she on us for ordering that in a pub! Overall a B for food. We went an hour before the Pats/Colts playoff game and were one of two tables in the restaurant. pub was filling up. Our server is what cost this review its 4th star. it won’t say her name, but we waited 15 min in an empty restaurant to be greeted and then only saw her two more times… good service would make this place great and we’ll try it one more time before passing judgement.

We’re in our late 20’s(I’m a month from 30, fiancé is 27) and we’re the youngest people here… by 30 years. Took until 6:30 to not be the youngest ones. Food was good, decent prices on drinks.

Evening out with my family was less then impressive. No wait for a table on 4th of July weekend should have been our first clue. We were promptly seated and a server came over shortly there after. Here’s where it begins… Our server(Kim) was rude, short, abrupt and brash! She rolled her eyes when I asked if the fish came from a local pier and again when I asked for our apps be wrapped up. I was cut off several times while speaking and she walked away from the table while I was speaking. I work in the industry and was horrified by this«service»! Either Kim had worked a double and hated being there or it was time for a new profession. Her distain for the restaurant was evident. The kitchen was really slow with 30 min between apps and entrees. Dinner took 2 hours and it wasn’t fine dining. Food was mediocre at best. My husbands chicken pram was like rubber and my sons burger required a saw to cut it in half. I did enjoy my local fish and it was prepared perfectly. I left a horrible tip(which I never do! Working in the industry I realize tips are income) but that is all that was earned! Won’t go back and advise management to hire better staff!!!

I really wanted to like the Lost Dog Pub more than I did. Got right in at 6pm on a Sunday night even though they were pretty busy. Had a very friendly waitresses even though she was not the best. There seemed to be a little lack of communication among the staff but overall everything ran smoothly. To start I had a stuffed quahog, which I had been craving. It was very tasty and perfectly cooked(I asked for it extra crispy) but there was TONS of sand in it, from the clams. It didn’t seem like they washed the clams at all before making the quahog. That was disappointing. My sister and I split the pesto chicken, because, well, it’s kind of ridiculous to charge $ 16.99 for a pesto chicken and pasta plate when the chicken was frozen chicken strips and not a legitimate breast of chicken. This dish was the same amount as the scallops, how does that make sense? It also was not good at all, neither of us ate much of it. My mom had a pizza and my sister and I ended up eating a piece of that. The pizza was definitely good, and when I go back I will probably get that. My dad had a fish sandwich that he liked. My sister also had the chowder which she said was good, but nothing special. A lot of the food going to the tables around us looked good. There was a lot on the menu and much more to try and hopefully the food will be better next time. Unfortunately, this place will never be 5 stars simply because of how high the prices are. Maybe they think they can get away with it being in a tourist town on the North side of Dennis, but the quality of food(except for the seafood) was not worth what they were charging.
