Great little hole in the wall. Went in on a Sunday afternoon for some burgers and beers with friends, the bartender was really friendly and service was great will definitely be back.

Went there on a Sunday = burger night. Great selections for a good price. Life changing coconut shrimp! It may look small and empty because of where it’s located buy it’s amazing

Great local hangout, super Bloody Mary’s, fresh baked tortilla chips and fresh lobster! The burgers are the bomb! Definitely a laid back bar with a lot of great stories & memories that all share. Just stick around for a few

So glad we ignored the negative reviews and came here anyway, this place is great! All we really needed was a Bloody Mary and someplace that would let us sit outside with our dog and grab a bite to eat before we started our long drive home in Sunday Cape traffic. Well, our burgers were awesome, the Bloody Mary was one of the best I’ve ever had(and I’ve had a few…) and the staff were wonderful! Our server was attentive, friendly, funny, and another woman(maybe the owner?) saw us with our dog and brought him right over a water bowl without us having to ask. What a relief it is to have someplace with good food and drink and is dog friendly! We were there for an hour or so and literally all of the staff(and some of the regulars too) all knew my name! That’s my favorite kinda place! We’ll be back every time we’re in the area!

I don’t like writing negative reviews, but, I am going to write this one. The gentleman who owns this place needs to know that it’s not okay to treat customers in a way that makes them feel unappreciated and disrespected. We were loyal customers until one night I got a bad chicken meal. It was very busy in the place and the waitress didn’t come to our table until everyone had finished their food. I asked her to take my meal off the bill and it was very embarrassing when she handed us a bill which included my dinner. A friend who was with us insisted that we were not going to pay for a meal that was inedible. Thank goodness for pushy friends! We always tip at least 20 percent or more, we knew the waitress, we ate there several times a month and were very good customers. The owner didn’t want to take the meal off of our $ 100. check. We haven’t been back since. That’s it. Never again!!!

All of our experiences here have been terrific. Really outstanding burgers(large, flavorful, and on a great bun), and the other entrees we have had have been delicious and large, too. In my personal experience, I have always felt welcomed. It has very quickly become a place we much enjoy. Lots of TV screens, too, for those trying to follow some game or other.

Glad I didn’t let the negative reviews stop me from trying this place. Although it is very small, and yes, mostly locals(not seeing the issue with that considering we have a home here) it’s a great spot to go to have a drink and something to eat. When the weather gets better there is also an outdoor seating area. Went here with not the highest expectations, and so glad I did. Sandwich was great, fresh real chicken, and cold cold beer. I’m happy. :) long story short, check it out. It’s not the place for everyone, but give it a shot. You might be surprised.

This our go to spot on the cape. We are not seafood eaters so it is difficult to find a place where we can enjoy We love the burgers. They are moist and messy. I often put too much on my burgers and one time I just took it all off and ate the meat. Moist and well cooked. When we go I try to convince myself to try something else– maybe a chicken special? But the burgers call is too much. We have tried some apps and they are hearty and well cooked. We have had the brushchetta and nachos. Pub fare. We try to go where the locals go and we were not disappointed.

My daughter asked me where to get the best Bloody Mary mid Cape. I told her to take her friends to Black Sheep. I feel bad I made this rec. She went today with her friends, all 21 years of age. Rather than quote her comments, I will share her experience was less than welcoming from the bartender. If you read my reviews, you know, I rarely ever post one star and always rate my own experiences but I am Skyping my daughter(am out of the US) and am sharing her first hand experience. Sorry, Black Sheep, you lost our business thanks to your rude ornery bartender. By the way, all of the girls are local with huge families. Too bad your bartender gives your place a bad vibe.

Decided to try this place after we saw a review in the paper raving about their burgers. So you know upfront, this place is tiny, has kind of a «divey» feel, and the majority of customers sit at the bar. That’s totally okay with us, as we’ve had some of the best meals at dives around the world. But, this wasn’t one of those times. It has kind of a «Cheers» theme, where as you have a ton of locals at the bar, and while we are locals, we weren’t met with enthusiasm, but rather a lot of stares. Moving on, the bartender, Jim wasn’t friendly(we felt like we were a bothersome just sitting there), and he tended to cater to the locals at the bar, who were only drinking and playing KENO, rather than to us, when we had ordered not only drinks, but food as well. Had he been more attentive, and friendly for that matter, we probably would have spent more time and ultimately money. We ordered two medium cooked burgers, and we both found them to be overcooked, dry, and seriously lacking flavor and seasonings. The fries had not been drained of excess grease prior to being loaded onto our plates, and the excessive grease ended up saturating the bottom buns of our burgers. We both ate less than half of our burgers, a few fries, paid, and left. Whomever reviewed this place and voted them as having one of the«best burgers» on Cape Cod, really does not know what makes a good burger. Hit the«accelerator» on this one and continue on to Scargo Café in Dennis for a delicious burger(less than a few miles away on Rt. 6A). You’ll be glad that you did.

This place is a local Cape dive… in a good way. The burgers are big, juicy and delicious. Highly recommended. Two burgers with multiple toppings for exactly $ 20. Great value. Hang out, play keno if that’s your thing and drink a beer. Done.

Ah, the bah. Mom and Dad love it. It’s pub food at a locals joint, and we’re the locals. While the folks love this as a hangout and for a place to exchange some friendly banter, it should be objectively noted service is usually slow and fraught with errors(typical for the Cape, really) and the food is hit or miss(you will do better with grilled items, as the fried tend to be on the greasy side). Prices are also Cape-standard — this is not $ but $$. But the comfy neighborhood vibe makes up for a lot of shortcomings, so as long as you’re not in a hurry and you’re not looking for more than the occasional nice surprise with the sandwiches, you can do worse on the north side of 6A,

Stopped in on a Sunday evening. Place was quiet. We ordered Rubens and fries. The food was great and the service was good and the prices were fair. All in all I would go back again for a quick inexpensive meal.

Good food, but terrible service. Very condescending bar tender/waiter/owner. If u take too long to order expect him to make u feel uncomfortable. I asked for a lemon wedge after our meal and he brought it out with his hands and not on a plate – his dirty fingers were all over the lemon when he had just handled money. Gross.

Just meh. Nice locals hang out here to have a few drinks, but the bartender that night was a bit on the older side and walked past my empty wine glass about 20 times. The buffalo wings were kind of gross, I got four huge drumsticks and 1 wing for 8 bucks, and most of that was nasty, gummy breading.

I have been going this restaurant, located on 6A, since my parents bought their house five years ago. The restaurant is small but they fit nine tables, all but two seating 4 people, around the bar, plus more seating on the patio in the summer. The Black Sheep offers Buzztime trivia, the electronic game played individually against people from all over the country. I often went with my Dad, sat at the bar, and ordered the Pilgrim sandwich. Like many Cape bars, The Black Sheep serves an older crowd of regulars who all leave by 9 o’clock. The night I took my friends for a nightcap a small group of young people stayed around drinking until one threw up on the bar. I have ordered the burgers before. They were all large, meaty and satisfying. But was before they made Sunday«Burger Day and offered 25 options. The Open Texas Red Burger, which came with chili, served open face on Texas Toast, earned the title of meanest burger. Overall, the Black Sheep’s burgers are another case of great toppings but overcooked burgers. The person in our group most satisfied was the one who ordered the Pizza Burger because she really wanted pizza and not burgers. Our friend who ordered the BBQ Burger reported great peppers, onions, and mushrooms. I ordered the«Indy» Burger, which was like the BBQ Burger but with onion rings on top instead of vegetables. Had this had been a T.G.I.Friday’s menu, it would have bragged that the burger was«smothered» in BBQ sauce. The problem with American dining is that no menu brags about placing a reasonable amount of something on anything. My girlfriend reported that the Open Texas Red Burger’s onion chunks were too large. I expected to leave the Black Sheep Bah very happy, but left underwhelmed and bloated. Everyone else was genuinely happy. The Black Sheep Bah is a crowd pleaser. Perhaps I’ve just become a critic and thereby nothing seems original.

How embarrassed was I to bring a friend here with great expectations only to wait over 10 minutes for service on a Saturday afternoon with I’d say less than a dozen regulars at the bar? The beer was flat and we had to re-ask for ordered items. I definitely felt like our service was getting interrupted by regular barflys wanting to check Keno tickets.
