Had dinner on 6÷3÷16 after a 6 hour drive from South Jersey. Always a great experience. The waitstaff are very interactive and kind, the owners/managers constantly circulate and check in. The food is varied, fresh and delicious. I had my favorite short ribs in sweet onion gravy. My husband usually has a fish option and is never disappointed.

We went here last night and everything was excellent! We come to the cape every year and somehow had never come here! We will definitely be back. The food was great and generous portions of everything! Service was great as well! Was very pleased with the bathroom having a legitimate changing table for my baby. Can’t say enough about this place!

Delicious food and attentive service without being intrusive. Beautiful Old Inn. Dishes not only looked pretty but tasted great. Entrees were priced fairly and large portions. They were served piping hot too. Panko Encrusted Halibut was flavorful, and prime rib was perfect. Staff was kind and efficient. Chowder was delicious. Strawberry/Rhubarb shortcake did not dissappont.

My boyfriend and I went here on our way out of town after leaving behind the B&B reservation we’d made. It was so nice that we thought about trying to stay there instead. I asked the maitre’d and he said they didn’t have lodging anymore(the restaurant had been expanded), but he made some calls for us, which really impressed us– great customer service, and not even from our waiter. We sat at the bar, initially waiting for a table, but the bartender(we didn’t get her name, but she was a middle-aged woman with short hair and glasses) was so delightful that we just stayed there. She was a kick! She also gave us tips on what to order, and when we took them, we were not disappointed. If I lived in the area, I’d definitely be a regular at the bar. The food was quite good. They brought us warm bread, which was heaven, and the butter was tasty, too. My boyfriend got the panko haddock(recommended by the bartender) and I got the prime rib special. He really liked the haddock and accompanying asparagus and potatoes. The prime rib was very good and cut easily, but I was overwhelmed by the size and only ate about a quarter of it. The sides were broccoli and cauliflower(ok) and a twice-baked potato(omg on the inside, but the skin tasted a little weird). Still, a solid dinner, and I’ll be having the prime rib for lunch today. And maybe dinner, too, heh. My boyfriend loves crème brûlée, so that’s what he had for dessert. I went with the recommended profiteroles, which were scrumptious, especially the dark chocolate sauce. I’m not usually big on vanilla ice cream, but it was a real team player here. Would have again. It was a busy night, but the atmosphere was convivial and fun as opposed to loud and crowded. We could tell that a lot of the customers were on a first-name basis with the staff and came often. I’m a city girl, but watching everyone there made me think that there are definitely nice parts about living in a more rural area. I’d give this place four stars for food and five for service, especially for our bartender. If I’m ever in Yarmouth Port again, I’ll definitely come back. In fact, the only bad part about coming home early is that we didn’t get to return for what I’ve now read is an excellent brunch.

This is one of my favorite spots on the cape. I love eating in the tavern, we always have excellent service at the bar. I love how old the building is, and the history of the place is very interesting. The food is very good, consistent.

Fabulous owners and a fabulous menu! My fav is the cranberry chicken! All plates are«home helping’ size«and along with a great meal they provide extremely professional wait staff service. Casual nice dress…& Make a reservation during the summer or there is a long wait. They are hugely popular here on Cape.

We have never experienced a bad meal here. The food is always fresh. The filet Mignon was tender… you could cut it with a fork. the staff are friendly and work together as a team. A very relaxing atmosphere to dine as a couple or large group.

One of my favorite restaurants on the Cape, hands down! Quite simply put, it doesn’t matter if you’re looking for lunch, dinner, brunch, a function, etc. There isn’t a place that delivers satisfaction more consistently and professionally than Old Yarmouth Inn. From the moment you are greeted by the host until the moment you leave, every aspect of the experience is about YOU. Food, Drinks, Service are all top notch. The Wine list is award winning. However, If you’re not looking for Wine, their bartenders know how to make your drink of choice the right way! Trust me when I say I have tried just about everything on this menu. I have not found a single item that disappoints. My favorites, however, would be the Filet Mignon, Prime Rib(when available), and Baked Stuffed Lobster(when available). They are to die for! Arpad and Sheila ensure their staff are customer focused and providing the best service at all times. The majority of the staff have been with them for years and truly work as a team to guarantee your satisfaction. Just sit and observe for a few minutes and you’ll see they don’t skip a beat. It’s quite remarkable to watch. If you’ve never been to their Brunch, you’re quite possibly missing out on the best Brunch you’ve ever had. It’s Phenomenal! Bring your appetite because you won’t want to stop eating. Lastly, if you’re looking to have a function… this is the place to go as well. Arpad and Sheila just know what they’re doing because they’ve done it so many times. The layout of the restaurant allows for incredible flexibility no matter how big your party is. Check out some of their testimonials and you’ll quickly realize you’re in the right place. One of the easiest Five Star ratings I’ve had to do!

Best brunch on Cape Cod! Ok, I haven’t been to every brunch on the Cape, but this brunch is absolutely phenomenal. If you want to try it, and you really should, it’s on Sundays and you should make reservations. You may be able to get in without them, but word is spreading fast. All food is included in the price, which is very reasonable considering the options. The menu: basically everything. The hot stations are incredibly fresh and feature everything from steak tips to baked mac n cheese. Their omelette station is FAST and super fresh as well. Aside the stations, visit the dessert table for some rather mind melting deliciousness… like French toast bread pudding. Oh yes. You can also order other fresh breakfast food from the kitchen! Everything from perfectly poached eggs Benedict to Belgian waffles with fresh strawberries. Let me tell you, so many breakfast places cannot poach an egg, Old Yarmouth nails it. Should you desire a cocktail, they have a menu of those as well, excellent combinations that perfectly compliment brunch. Like I said, best brunch on Cape Cod. 5 stars.

Intimate Wedding Reception: Stacey and Arpad were great to work with. They explained all of the options and pricing which made planning from the west coast a snap. We did get to stop in to meet with Stacey and she happily showed us the room and setup. We were in the red room which was private and had a great ambiance. Because of the small size, guests were able to order from the menu which they loved. Dishes came out hot and very quickly. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. They even flexed their typical menu offering to include our favorite dessert, Boston cream pie(which was amazing). The staff were super friendly, professional, attentive and overly accommodating. More than we could have ever asked for. Thank you for making our reception PERFECT! I highly recommend this vendor to others planning events on the Cape and can’t wait to visit again.

My boyfriend and I went on a little«weekend» trip and ended up having dinner here. For two semi picky eaters we were a bit overwhelmed with some of the food. We are not big seafood eaters. Regardless of that fact we loved everything that we had. I got the chicken Francaise and my boyfriend got the roast maple farm half duck. This was our first time trying duck and we actually both loved it. We also both got martinis which were not shy in the liquor, calamari that was amazing and for desert we split the lemoncello cake. We also thought the staff was very friendly they are not overbearing but attend to all of your needs. I definitely would recommend going here. I’m looking forward to going back some day.

On the Cape for Labor Day & have gone here twice. The old world charm, pleasant staff, wonderful drinks & superb food make it worth the trip. The Sea foods are scrumptious, get the bisque, good bread = good everything else. They differentiate the experience from the Dining room or Tavern. It has a different menu and I haven’t eaten in the Tavern section but would imagine it would be just as good. Of yes, having a reservation would be advisable, enjoy.

This is an outstanding restaurant. This is the second time we’ve been there. We arrived there approximately 10 minutes before they were supposed to stop seating for lunch! You could not tell. They were incredibly pleasant and accommodating. We arrived with a large party at eight! When they went to go set up a table for us we had two other people hosts see us standing there and they asked if we were being helped. They were so nice to us and did not rush is out — they also offers is dessert and we’re happy to tell us their personal favorites. I have the swordfish and linguine special which was wonderfully season, others in the party had a hamburger, clams, calamari, shrimp scampi. I had a great time all the desserts were wonderful too. Outstanding place to take family members!

The food would have earned 4 stars(except for the lobster bisque which was not good) however the service and atmosphere lowered my rating. We arrived early(5:30) and were seated right away. The inn is a historical structure with low ceilings and dark tavern feel around the bar. Considering the light and bright dining room was totally empty I found it odd that we were seated in the dark and dismal bar area. There is an early seating dinner menu that offered a nice selection of their entrees as did the children’s menu. As mentioned above, the lobster bisque was not good and the chowder was ‘eh’. Our entrees(& the children’s) were delicious and very nicely presented. As far as the service… Our waiter seemed annoyed that he had to wait on us. He took excessively long to visit our table initially to offer a drink and was more dismissive each time he visited our table. I think he forgot he was a waiter.

Stopped in here as we were passing through after a trip to Provincetown. We sat at the bar and food was decent. However service was amazing. Dani was tending bar and she was friendly and attentive. She made us feel welcome and comfortable. I felt as though we had become part of the local crowd! We would go back specifically to see her!

My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful dinner here last night! The atmosphere is very cozy and well spaced. The décor is nothing too fancy, but more than enough for a well-dressed evening dinner. The food was awesome! The lobster bisque was the second best I’ve ever had. Simply amazing! Only the Soup Man in NY was better. And I’m talking about when Al Yeganeh was making the soup himself back in the 1990’s, not the current commercialized version. I wouldn’t stop making sound effects to my wife on how good that soup was. And I’m a born and bred NY’er that has eaten at some great NY restaurants! Anyway, my wife had the filet mignon and I had the haddock which were both just so good and of generous proportions! Our server Shannon was absolutely on top of everything, gave great advice to help us decide our entrees, and was so genuine in her kindness. On our way out, the owner was nice enough to grant our request to take pictures of my wife and I and gave us a tour of the expansion of the restaurant through the years. Also had some good conversation on the history of the restaurant and of our respective NY roots. All around a very enjoyable evening and will undoubtedly be returning on our next Cape Cod visit!

Maybe the most pleasant holiday meal in a long time. Very excellent service in this country inn setting. Try the chowder(of course) and the scallops, which were very good. We were able to get right in without a reservation, but it was the middle of offseason, so don’t chance it. Pricey, but casual, although perfect place for a dressed up evening as well.

We concluded our little weekend getaway to Cape Cod here and, like William M. said, it was an amazing way to end it. Before coming here, I knew this place was old, but I didn’t realize just how old. Established in 1696, it used to be an inn(hence the name) but it now operates solely as a restaurant. We wished it still was an inn, because after feeling as full as we did upon finishing our meals, we easily could have crashed on-site. It just so happened we were lucky enough to be on the Cape during restaurant week so we knew ahead of time we were coming here for the 3 course pre-fixe($ 35/each). Before sitting at our table, we went to the bar where a very patient bartender ultimately helped us find a bottle of red we liked. We had to be his worst nightmare, but he handled us well, even giving us new glasses each time we sampled a new wine. Classy, and the way it should be done. On that note, try the Runquist 1448, a delicious blend that should please everyone. For the first course, we went with the spinach salad and the vodka oysters. The salad was nice, light and refreshing, but nothing to write home about. The vodka dipping for the oysters was a little heavy on the vodka. Kind of felt like I was taking a shot. These were hands down my least favorite oysters while visiting the Cape, and I ate a lot of them on that trip. For the entrée course, I went with the pan seared day boat scallops(served with shallots, garlic, honey and sherry butter over asparagus risotto). The scallops were out of this world. They were huge, the risotto was cooked perfectly, and as for the sauce, I wanted the recipe so I could attempt to recreate it at home. The lady went with the beef Wellington. I realize this dish is tough to execute, but the filet came out half medium, half medium-well. It should have been closer to rare, but she was happy with it. For the dessert round, the crème brûlée was not good. The sugar was too brûlée-ed and the custard smelled as if the eggs were old. The chocolate chip Macadamia nut cookie, vanilla ice cream, warm chocolate ganache, on the other hand, was awesome. My only significant regret is I ordered a glass of the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc with my dinner. I am now obsessed with it and I’ve since ordered a case for my summer stock. Overall, the outstanding service and the ambience make up for the not-so-memorable oysters and crème brûlée. I would definitely come here again.
