Delicious ready made tortas, the jamon con queso is really good. Tried the menudo on Saturday morning, beware it’s spicy. They have lots of pan dulce, hot drinks, and tamales also.

Talk about an authentic Mexican place, this place has the best breakfast tortas! I had a chorizo torta and it was amazing!!! I also tried their tamales which were very tasty! Will definitely come back soon!

My Wife wanted something Sweet so I looked for a Bakery not to far off the Frwy. Came upon Daisy’s. Tucked away in a Little Strip Mall. Very Small. But What a Find. First, The Pan Dulce. Excellent and Not just because it was Fresh. Great Tasting as well. My Fave was the Mexican Wedding Cookie. The Champurado. Outstanding. Great to See that we will no longer have to drive into East Los Angeles for it. Tamales. I really don’t like Pork Tamales. I find them mostly tasteless with little meat. Daisy’s Bangs it Out Of The Park. Best Pork Tamale I have Eaten. Chicken Tamales had more chicken than Most Chicken Plates. Cheese were Cheesy and Spicy. I was Just Blown away. I wonder how many little places like this are out there. We need to keep our Eyes Open and Give All these Places a Shot. It’s Great that we found this hidden treasure. Oh and By The Way. The Sweet Tamales are Out of This World. If you can get any. Went in at 5:10Am and they had already sold out.

I had a concha, too bad it was in the afternoon, I should have gone at 8am as mentioned by a previous review. I did however enjoy the concha and I was about to grab some churritos just because I was feeling nostalgic as always.
They have Coffee, Atole, Champurado, Oatmeal and some type of hot Mexican drink. They have the traditional items you would find in a liquor store but you can also get pan dulce, warm drinks and lots of Soccer team hats. You can pay ATM but they will charge you. They share a parking lot with everyone but parking was a breeze.
If you go to get pan dulce, get a pan and thongs from the front register area to grab your pan dulce in the glass display case. Near the front exit you have your choice of warm drinks, I should really come here in the morning, silly me coming during lunch.
In the end I paid one dollar for two pan dulce conchas. However, I am still thinking about those churritos, they gave me pleasant flashbacks to my younger days. Mariah Carey once had a hero come along, today, I had a churro come along.

I love this place!
I usually go in around 8 am and the smell of all the mexican sweet bread (pan dulce) just soothes your soul. Now I’ve had my fair share of sweet bread, but this place I’ve found to be the highest quality and most consistent. I’ve had some weird tasting pan dulce, some not so fresh, some bland but not here! They always come out really soft and wholesome.
My favorites here are the white concha’s (i don’t even know if I spelled it right but it means sea shell in spanish!) and these other crunchy breads that are firm and sugary. I call them Ojo’s (eyes in spanish). But I think I have the name wrong, i’ve seen it go by a few names at different places so I never know what to call them but I recognize them when I see them!
Also one of my favorite things about this place is, if you go in early and at the right time you see the store with anywhere from 2 – 6 people inside it. It has that «slow» morning feeling. You can tell the people work hard and are about to start their day by nourishing themselves with some good ol’ fashioned comforting pan dulce! I love that feeling in the morning when its calm, and everyone is moving around at ease and trying to stay warm. Everyone’s spirits are high, I don’t know about you guys but i’m having a moment right now thinking about this! I feel like I can connect to people better in the morning lol. Sorry for the sentimental rant! I just love pan dulce!

Every home should have sweet bread in their kitchen. Its a personal favorite to come to Daisy’s in the morning and grab a Concha to go. Their Concha’s are soft and sweet and crunchy. The top is covered in sugar and its like biting into a cloud. The location is small and they have a little of everything. Go early and you will see the bread being made and you will smell the bread being taken out. The store also offers champurado, tortas, tamales, aguas fresca also. I recommend eating the sweet bread fresh for the best experience.
