I have nothing but great things to say!
We handed our design to them and they did exactly how we wanted! Prices aren’t bad either. Everyone was so impressed with these cakes we ordered. Too bad we don’t live close by anymore, otherwise I would order from them every time.

I don’t like to leave anything less than a neutral review, so it is unfortunate that I cannot rate this place higher. Perhaps their service and quality have changed since I used them in 2009. I’d like to hope they have.
I chose this bakery off a list of bakeries that was included in the wedding package that I ordered at Luminarias. They were the first place I did a cake tasting and liked the samples of what I tried enough to know that it was good. My husband and I had a less than usual wedding cake request, which was that we wanted chocolate and banana cake (really, when have you been to a wedding that served that?!). The sample assured us that we’d be satisfied.
The real reason for the bad review is because not only did I order my wedding cake from them, but also my «grooms cake.» No, I am not from the south. It just so happened that we were having our wedding a day before my husband’s birthday and I didn’t want it to be totally overlooked by his friends and family so I thought this would be a good way to include that. I ordered his cake from here because I figured since they were already delivering my wedding cake I could have them deliver this too. And this cake, because it was for him and because he is so special to me, was supposed to be a very special cake for which I paid outside of the wedding budget.
I wanted a TRES LECHE cake in the shape of a basketball jersey and with Lakers colors. I had them put his high school number on it and write something special from me on it. I provided numerous pictures of the back of a lakers jersey from different angles so they could see what I wanted. They sooooooooooooooooooo missed the mark. Not only did the cake look awful, but it was not very yummy. Maybe the phone conversation I had with the baker THE MORNING OF THE WEDDING better explains it.
9:45am wedding morning my cell phone rings as I am inside the mall (with bad reception) getting ready to get my makeup done. I answer.
Me: Hello?
Loud man on other line: Hello Stephanie, I call about your cake.
Me: Yes. And? (mind you this is my mother freaking wedding day!!! My heart is RACING!)
Man: What kind filling you want in your tres leche cake?
Me: What do you mean what kind of filling do I want? It is tres leche. I dont know how its made I just want regular tres leche cake.
Man: (now yelling cause apparently my phone had cut up what I said) What kind of filling you want inside your tres leche cake?
Me: (now yelling cause I dont want him calling me the day of my freaking wedding to ask how the hell to bake the cake he told me he could make!) No filling. Just 3 milks! TRES LECHE!
(call dropped or he hung up)
(He calls back)
Me: Yes?
Man: What kind filling do you want in your cake?
Me: NO FILLING!!! It is tres leche cake! I want three milks in my cake and that is it!!!
Man: You want strawberry or banana or peach?
Me: (now screaming in public!) I DO NOT WANT FILLING IN MY CAKE!
(phone is silent, dropped call again)
(Man calls back)
Me: LISTEN TO ME. STOP YELLING ME AND DONT ASK ME WHAT I WANT IN MY TRES LECHE CAKE!!! I dont know how to make tres leche cake because I am not a baker, you are! Now make my cake and don’t call me again!
Man: Ok.
Yes, sure I was exceedingly bitchy, but you’d have been too! Please see the pictures to see what my «special cake» looked like and what my wedding cake looked like.
The ONLY reason I did not give 1 star is because the wedding cake did taste good and from THE RIGHT ANGLE it looked as I’d wanted it to.
