You gotta go to the lunch truck for some reason the truck taste way better best meats to get is the tripas medium and the carnitas on point and yeah they even have birria tacos real chivo goat bomb… ask for carrots and drizzle leomon on them too good. lunch truck leaves at 1am sun_​thur fri n sat at 2am

First time here and I ended up having lunch there and 8 hours later I find myself there again for dinner. One the most authentic Hispanic food around. Would of gave 5 stars but they only take cash, no debit or credit cards, but overall the variety of food will have you coming back for more.

I read in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune that they where shut down for a few days due to roaches, nasty!

What else can I say but what is advertise on Unilocal is 100% true the tacos here are delicious it would make you not want to go eat tacos anywhere else. So I’m not a fan of the al pastor that they serve here, it could be better but every other meat here is tasty especially the tripas. I was utterly disgusted by thinking of ordering a taco de tripas but since other Unilocalers praise it I had to try them. Everybody here is absolutely right the tacos de tripas are amazing I am addicted to them.

! Their nachos are better than Casa Garcia. Yes, that’s right I had the, I guess what some of you would call «audacity» to write that just now. Great service, good price and they always grill two jalapeños for me, for free with my order. Love it love it! Try the asada nachos. Magnifick!

I can honestly say that the only thing i usually order is the carne asada huaraches. They are bomb. Horchata is bomb too. Parking is very small though. Theres always a line so i always call in my order b4 i show up. Everything on the menu is good too. Tacos burritos. Theres so much to choose from. Meat is fresh and well cook.

I’ve had several street style tacos from all sorts of trucks, restaurants, etc. and this place is my favorite. The meats are seasoned and full of flavor. Their salsa is no joke, mucho caliente!

. This place is hardly a hit or miss when it comes to consistency. Their food nearly always tastes the same and they are very cheaply priced. This is Mexican tacos at it’s best IMO.
I am always meaning to try other things but usually I get a variation of tacos/​burrito and every now and then, a sope. Their quesadillas are pretty good here also.
There are a few negatives that aren’t really negatives but more or less I can live with it, those are cash only and small parking lot.
The inside of the establishment is very basic but I generally eat at home or inside my car if I’m on the go. There is usually an older woman that sits out front and sells Mexican candies. Don’t leave without getting a Sangria, Jarritos soda or an horchata to wash it all down. Karina’s does not disappoint! If you stop by late night and they are closed, wait for the truck but be careful, it is always busy. but that’s a good thing!

Just tried this place out for the first time today. Considering I have tried other similar restaurants in the area, I didn’t have high hopes as I had already been disappointed by said establishments.
BUT… This place really surprised me! I tried their Carne Asada burrito and a Al Pastor taco (just to try it out). The Al Pastor was little too greasy for me, but it was tasty. The burrito however, was fantastic! The meat was well seasoned and the texture was just right; not too moist, not too dry. The rice and beans inside were very good as well. The salsa was just okay, but since the rest of the burrito was very tasty, salsa was not necessary.
Service was lightning fast (in and out in about 5 minutes)!The best part… The price! A true bargain! But, it would be nice if the place wasn’t cash only… Luckily I had a couple of bucks in my wallet. Well worth trying it! I’ll be back soon!

Very flavorful tacos. I ordered the sopes and has a huge amount flavor unlike king taco sopes.

These have to be the best cooked tripe tacos ever. The tripe is super crunchy and delicious! Their cheek tacos are great as well!

Love coming to this place, we been coming to this place since I was little. Love the service they are very friendly people. You order your food take your seat the longer you wait for your food is less than ten minutes. The food is great love their tripa tacos. The place is overall clean. The prices are economically great (Cash Only)

I’ve only been there once, last night, but in the one visit I can already tell I’ll be coming here more often. We arrived and saw the taco truck on the street. We parked in front of their restaurant which is in the same lot. There was plenty of light and parking in front of the small restaurant. Also, the restaurant was closed for business but open for anyone who wanted to use the restroom.
We walked over to the truck and there was a crowd of ppl either waiting for their order or waiting to order. It wasn’t a long line to order. Our order was ready in about 5 – 10 minutes and we walked over to where I parked and ate the tacos there.
Each taco is generously covered in salsa so there is no need to ask for more. Our first impression after the first bite was «Wow! These tacos are really good!» we ate them and agreed that we now have found ourselves a new taco spot.
Highly recommendable place.

This is my go to taco place around the San Gabriel Valley area. Great tasting food at a good price. I’m a big fan of tripas and this truck has had the best of any place I’ve been to. If you’re a fan of crunchy tripas this is a place offers that at a good price. Their carnitas is also very good and has a lot of flavor. They aren’t too stingy with the amount of meat they give you unlike most places, which is nice. I’ve only had the burritos and tacos so I can’t say much about anything else on the menu.
The workers are the truck are nice and very welcoming; the ladies at the actual restaurant is a different story though.
Plenty of parking in the lot right next to the truck.

They do not like when you ask for anything extra! My friend asked for extra chile!!! The man told her no because she had one already.
This place does not deserve your money!

I went on Cinco de Mayo at around 10 and the wait was 15 minutes. I thought they were going to be really good because of the reviews on Unilocal.They were pretty slow and the tacos werent that good. I’ve had tacos elsewhere for cheaper that are better without the wait. Sorry wont be back.

Taco Tuesdays all day everyday! They actually don’t acknowledge Taco Tuesdays but their tacos are always $ 1.35 each.
They have 3 separate stores all in one plaza. one inside the larger plaza and the other facing the main street, then they occasionally have their food truck out by the street. The food truck is the best. Employees have heavy Spanish accents but the food truck people are super nice. However, in the store facing the street in the tiny plaza the cashier looks like she wants to punch you in the throat… and the stores inside are pretty dirty with flys buzzing around. +2 (for the food truck)
Can we talk about why we’re even bothering to come out to El Monte for Tacos? Because they’re so flippin amazing! They’re juicy and flavorful and actually leave you incredibly satisfied! I always only order Lengua (beef tongue) and it’s never disappointing. But I tried their Buchea, don’t know the correct spelling, (intestine) and it was pretty delicious as well! Quite chewy and a more distinct taste to it. +3
We try to make a trip out to Karina’s once a week whenever because everyday is Taco Tuesday!

Very deserving of it’s 4 out of 5 stars on Unilocal.During lunch they are super busy. Everything is pretty much made to order. Service speed is pretty reasonable. With a staff of 3 for lunch, they are definitely not slouching around. Prices are reasonable, but they accept cash only.
Tacos, recommend ordering only if you are planning to dine in. The tortilla can get kinda soggy if you have to travel far.
Tortas, they have a specialty one here, it’s called the Torta Cubana. $ 7. My coworker seems to like it.
Combos, you can have pretty much any type of meat paired into a combination plate (combo). I’ve had it with the Cabeza (head meat), and it was the best thing ever. You can also have Birria for $ 7(that’s lamb). Think I might try that next time. They do a chile rojo and verde combo plate too. Just too much good stuff. For the combos, they let me have fried tortilla chips when I asked for it. No extra charge, and they fry it fresh! So it’s nice and hot when you get it.
The pickled carrot was surprisingly declious. Not too spicy, not too sour, it was pretty much perfect.
