Let’s Sea is a Thai-style seafood restaurant in South Gate. LOCATION Garfield Ave via Firestone Blvd. It’s next to a Starbucks and a few other shops. The sign is easy to miss if you’re not consciously looking for it. PARKING Parking is usually sparse at least the few times I have been in the area at around noon. ENVIRONMENT Casual. Clean. A few TVs. Bench style seats not attached to the tables. They offer a few selections of beers and also frozen margaritas. When I picked up my to-go order on 1÷5÷16, the place was dead. SERVICE Nice for the most part. Somewhat painful making a phone order due to language barriers & background noise… or maybe that was the rain. THAIICEDTEA $ 2.25… It tasted fine. I have no complaints. It was ready to go when I got there a little later than expected(thanks to the rain), but they kept it in their little fridge for me. LUNCHSPECIALS There were several to choose from, but I chose the… — sautéed garlic shrimp($ 8.95). The shrimp was cooked nicely. The garlic sauce was good. I’m not afraid of garlic, though, and there was a good portion of it. The lunch specials also come with… — «fresh green salad» — mine was not completely fresh. Had a few limp pieces. — steamed rice — good — egg roll — had salt practically caked on the outside — too much! Even after scraping it off it I could barely make out what I was tasting Overall, I liked it, but I was hungry again 30 minutes later. They do not seem particularly baby/toddler-friendly, so I’m not sure I could try this place again for a while. TIPS — AYCE crab legs on Tue. — they deliver to a 3-mile radius — there’s another location in Koreatown off of Western Ave Review #442 ’16 Challenge #5

HORRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE. I was initially impressed with its cute decors and cleanness, as well as the variety of the food choices on their menu. They also have lots TVs and easy parking. HOWEVER, after having to wait and call out our waiter repeatedly(despite our table being the ONLY customers on this day), having a waitress who lost our receipt, and being forced to pay for a 15% tip for a large table, I really can’t love this place too much. Not alone that I really didn’t like the seafood soup I ordered. Too sour and too fishy. Also, why doesn’t seafood soup have ANY shrimps?! I can’t comment on their«boiling crab» shrimps because I didn’t get to try them the first time i went. But unless they get new management, I might never get to try their shrimps lol.

I just realized that I have been to this place 9 times, as I sit and write this review. It’s located in a busy shopping center and parking can be pure hell sometimes because of Starbucks and their drive-thru, especially if they get backed up. Walking in, the place is very clean and eclectically decorated in a simple fashion. They have a lot of TV’s that mostly play the sports channels, but I like that they aren’t so loud that you can’t have a conversation. I usually get a water with lime, but I have had their tropical iced tea and it is super bomb… way better than I ever expected. They also serve alcohol, such as beer, wine, and even margaritas. I came for a UYE(Unofficial Unilocal Event) with some other Unilocalers and we thought we were getting a small margarita to share between two people. It ended up being the biggest margarita that I had ever seen and it was large enough to share with all five of us! Oh, and it was SO strong that had I drank more, I would have been dancing on the tables in a non-clothed kind of way! I heard that this place was similar to Boiling Crab, but I’ve never been there, so I had nothing to compare it to. First and foremost, I really like the customer service! Nick has come to know me and my bestie who come in at least once a week. He always greets us and asks if we want our usual table. We always get a pound of shrimp each with the spicy threesome sauce, but I have also had the sauces separate. I love the Cajun and I get it spicy. The taste is really good and doesn’t leave a strange after taste, so you can tell that the ingredients that they use is fresh. I am not a big fan of the garlic butter by itself and I have never had the lemon pepper by itself, but the threesome is a combination of all three and it is delicious together! We have also had their Cajun fries, which are also really good and for once a place that uses enough seasoning on them! The garlic bread is bomb! I have a weakness for bread anyway, so maybe I’m a little biased, but it’s really good, to me. I usually get some to go. The only thing is that the price for it is a little high for the amount that you get. I wish they’d give you more. They certainly need to have a frequent visitor stamp card or something! As much as I go here, I’d be coming up on free stuff by now. I’ve had their seafood Tom Yum soup for the first time in my life and it was very sour to me(from the lemongrass), but it was still good. I don’t know that I’d order it again, but if someone else did, I would eat it. It wasn’t nasty, but it was just a taste that I wasn’t used to, again probably because I hadn’t had it before. I want to try more on their menu, but I can’t seem to get past that pound of shrimp or the crab!
