This place deserves 5 stars, but I’m not giving them 5 because they don’t serve micheladas lol. Other than that I was very satisfied with what I got. First timer and I won’t be my last :)

The sampler ceviche is the best! My favorites are Zombie, Klauser, and the Chamango! I also recommend the Vida Loca Tacos! But the other food items like coctel and caldos need work… mainly flavor :(

Lobster Nachos! Yes, you read that correctly. The audacity to take a beloved Mexican/American staple like nachos and elevate them with lobster is both sacrilegious as well as genius. Hats off to the chef because the flavors are incredible. Every element compliments the lobster perfectly. The fresh chips, the avocado, the diced onions, the cilantro, the tomatoes, the mozzarella cheese, the white sauce, are all so darn good. I can’t really say enough. My co-worker ordered them two weeks ago and I couldn’t stop thinking about them. I finally ordered them for myself and I only wish I had ordered 2 instead of 1. They cost like $ 17 but man you get a lot. I shared mine with a co-worker and I still got full. One tip, don’t share these nachos. Be a hoarder and gooble these up all by yourself.

Espectacular! The flavors are different that the usual sea food place but exquisite, to the point that we had to double up and reorder more tostadas. We couldn’t stop eating! The place is clean, prices affordable, servings sizes in the abundant side and staff very welcoming. Definitely coming back!

Best Ceviche and Shrimp tacos I’ve had in a long time. I’ve tried the Mariquita, Zombie, Mango shrimp tostada. The Shrimp Taco a la Diabla is also really good. My husband ordered Tacos Mi. Ida Loca which are fried tacos with potato and shrimp. We will definitely be back, I think this might be our go to spot for a while.

First time eating here. This place came highly recommended and lived up to my friends hype. I took my dad with me and we each ordered a sampler mine had the Zombie, Changito, and Mangito his had Chipotle, Changito, and Conejito. We each had a shrimp taco a la diabla as well. All three of mine were absolutely delicious I will definitely order them again when I go back. I may need to order two samplers for myself just so I can try them all. Each tostada was so full of flavor making it difficult to pick a favorite from just one visit. The hostess Marianna was a doll too! Great service extremely attentive she went over the menu with us and told us what the most popular plates were. I just got home and I can’t wait to go back.

I knocked down two stars for managing, speed cleanliness and a cook mad dogging my boyfriend but I’ll get to that later. We decided to stop by because like always I’m craving fish and shrimp tacos and I’m usually on the hunt for a good taco. So after having it bookmarked for a good while we finally stopped by. We placed our order to go since it was very loud and the tables that were unoccupied had not been bussed. I ordered three tacos. One fish taco, one shrimp taco and one a la diabla fresh taco with a side of rice. A very frantic young lady took my order as she took phone orders. There was one other round man who smiled alot and kept on running back and forth doing prep work. I didn’t expect my order to take as long as it did because working in a similar restaurant myself I k of that fish and shrimp tacos with a side of rice is not a difficult task that annnnd everyone that was seated already had their food except for two ladies off to the side. I went to the bathroom and came back. Took a seat and waited I began to grow impatient when 15 minutes came and went and the smiling boy looked at me confused asking if I was dining in or to go(I responded with my order was placed to go) the young lady seconds later goes«was your order for Robert?» I told her no and gave her my name. Concerned that my order had not been started I walked up to the counter my order had just been sitting there. She apologized for the wait and told me we were just waiting for my rice. This is where I got to observe the cooks in the back working at a ridiculously slow pace. The young man in the front continued to chop God knows what as he told someone else to get my rice. Ten minutes went by before I got my rice and the only reason I did get it was because my boyfriend looked at the young man cook and asked for the missing side of rice. The whole time this guy didn’t take his eyes of of him… As for the food it’s okay. The rice unfortunately was not worth my time. Out of the three tacos I ordered I recommend the a la diabla. The sauce made it delicious. I recommend they bus their tables faster and complete your orders before sending them out. Take it down a couple notches on the attitude. If you don’t like upset customers fake it or pick a job where you don’t have to deal with it.

I’ve had El Coraloense bookmarked for awhile and my husband had a craving for some mariscos on a Sunday night, so off we went to try it out. Since we’re a bit of a drive from Bell Gardens and since we left about an hour before closing, I called to double check the hours. Yep, they close at 8pm on Sundays. We had time. So we get there about 7:40 and they are open but no longer serving hot food. I wanted ceviche anyway, but my husband had shrimp tacos in mind – the fried ones, so he was disappointed and ready to leave. It was irritating too: we drove 20 minutes to get there, all excited, and I called! The girl that answered didn’t think to mention that detail. Apparently they stop serving hot food a half hour before closing. But I wanted ceviche anyway, so I ordered the three taco sampler for myself and my husband ended up with Pioneer Chicken. I got the mango ceviche, zombie, and mariquita. I don’t know if they got sloppy or what, but the mariquita and zombie tasted very similar except the zombie had pickled onions on top. I ordered the mariquita hoping to taste more of the«finest peanut and walnut sauce» but I hardly tasted(or saw) any of it. I honestly thought at first that they gave me the wrong one. Both tasted good, it’s just like I got a double order. The mango ceviche had a fresh, sweet flavor from the mango that paired well with the citrus-flavored ceviche. Probably because they were ready to close, they gave me a regular-size of something(the tostadas? ceviche?) rather than the mini I ordered. At any rate, I paid $ 8.50 for the tostadas, which was a good deal for the amount of food. I also enjoyed the salsa roja that comes with the ceviche and the mini tostadas. I would definitely come back because I did enjoy the taste and preparation of the ceviche and would love to try other items on their extensive menu. Camarones a la diabla? Yes please! The molcajete? Yes! I just wish they had let me know about the availability of the food(or lack thereof) before I made the trip.

The three ceviche sampler platter I think is one of the best ideas, but THEE best idea is truly the lobster nachos! Homemade tortilla chips topped with jack cheese, crema oaxaqueña, pico de gallo, roasted garlic, and chunks and chunks of delicious LOBSTER! How can you go wrong?! You can’t. You just can’t. I also had a piña passion all fruit smoothie, which I believe was made with real pineapple; not overly sweet, well balanced, and cleansed the palette quite nicely with the seafood overload. In short, this place is amazing.

Came here with a few foodie friends and this place knows ceviche! I counted 22 different variations of ceviche tostadas. that’s insane! We ordered 3 different kinds, all shrimp, but with different toppings. I forgot the names of them, but one was mild, one had nuts on it, and the last one topped with strawberries. Strawberries? Hey, it works! It was my favorite! Aside from the ceviches, we ordered the Lobster Nachos. These were amazing! It’s a must order when visiting here. Friendly staff, and they’ll help you navigate through the ceviche choices, just ask!

This post is about 2 weeks late but here I go … Walked in and it wasn’t busy at the time but as soon as we left it was poppin. Anyways, the way to order was a bit weird. There are photos of the food they serve on top of the walls. The cashier was helpful and recommended their top choices. We ordered and sat and noticed the table next to us wasn’t cleaned off. Not sure how long is was like that before we got there but we were there maybe 15 – 20 sitting down and it still wasn’t cleared. Moving along, our table wasn’t stable and to get someone’s attention wouldve taken much effort so we got some napkins and put it under our table. It wasn’t perfect but did the trick. Food came out about 30 mins after ordered. One dish after the other. Everything was great expect for the fish al pastor taco. Not a fan and I like al pastor. The fried shrimp quesadilla taco was awesome. The scallops were spicy but yummy. I forgot the name of the coconut seafood mix we had but it was delish. The 3 mini tostadas were also great. Will come again

This isn’t the first time I’ve been here but I am writing this review on past visits. The location where my pictures were taken is now closed on Lakewood Blvd in Downey. Sucks but I don’t mind the drive to the original because the food is awesome! I haven’t had one dish that wasn’t great here. I like El Coraloense’s take on civeche’s and unique spin on other dishes like camarones ala diabla in quesadilla form. I’ve also had other dishes that aren’t posted in my images such as the camarones ala diabla tacos, tortas, fish al pastor tacos, etc. All dishes have great flavor and great presentation. This location is in Bell Gardens and is well worth the drive from any location. Lunch 1÷5÷2014

OMG this place is amazing. Their ceviches are amazing and have really great flavor profiles. The shop is very cute and breezy and it reminded me of seaside seafood shops when I went to Vietnam. They also have a bunch of imaginative dishes like sea wings(I haven’t tried them yet but I definitely will). If I lived near this place I would be here every day! The prices are very reasonable, especially given the fact that it serves seafood; most seafood restaurants are way more expensive than their land meat selling counterparts! The staff was very helpful and tried to help us pick some dishes. The only thing I might pass on are the ceviches with the carrot sauce. It was a sweetness I am not use to and am not a fan of. Everything else though I think is great! Even the chips and salsa seemed well constructed(some sort of whole grain chip with a very interesting complex nutty salsa).

LOVELOVELOVELOVE El Coraloense! A family owned business, so they treat you like family. Y toda la comida como hecha en casa. There are no complaints on the food, every plate that I’ve tasted is always yummy and the seafood is always fresh. Keep in mind that some dishes will take a little longer to prepare since everything is made from scratch. No canned food here! Some of my favs are: , caldo de pescado, orgasmo, el conejito… and much more. I highly recommend this place!
