Tacos DF

I did read the reviews and I sadly I did not like their food. It was ok but not a spot I would visit again. I think it’s over priced for the flavor but they do serve big sizes in plastic plates, forks, & paper cups. Raised in DF & so far have not been to a place that can come close to the seasoning they cook with.

I love this place, the food and the people. He venido a este lugar ya por muchos años, y sigue siento uno de mis favoritos. The food really taste like it was made in Mexico DF.

Everything seems very fresh. I had the huaraches with asada and a quesadilla (I ordered with chicharron but I think they gave me chicken, honestly unsure. Lol) the quesadilla was made with the largest corn tortilla I’ve ever seen.
It’s got a hole in the wall vibe and they take credit cards. Food was made fast and they have a salsa bar. My total for the two items was 16.59.

Best quesadilla ever! I got the quesadilla con chicharron prensado after reading other Unilocaler reviews and I wasn’t disappointed! The tortilla is hand made (it is fried) inside they include cotinga cheese and crema with lettuce & tomato. Full of flavor and only $ 7 something!

I remember coming to this place and loving the food. But now It’s sad that I can’t say the same. The food is really bad now, only good thing this place has is the huaraches other than that don’t waste your money. The food is over priced for the quality. Also a place that uses foam cups and plates should already be a minus star.

Never dissapoints. I always come here when craving some good Mexican food. I’ve tried the burritos, tortas, and nachos… So good!

One of my favorite places in Southgate. Clean environment and nice staff. Always my place to go if I want a taco.

The tacos are really good. But the huarache was a total bust had no flavor it was very plain and boring. Also wish their salsa bar was better the chiles are not much in the taste department either. Service was average.

Checked this place out for the first time and meh… nothing special about this place. The food was ok. Nothing stood out and had me like WOW. We ordered the wet burrito, 3 tacos and a huarache. Fast service but I not very friendly (unless the ladies that work there are your comadres). I really wanted to like this place but I cannot lie to you fine folks.

Food was great ! My cocktail was very fresh and super tasty with a great michelada to go with it. Service was decent will come back again.

Been here a few times with my boyfriend, friendly service, good food. Wish it was located in a different part of town but it serves it purpose.

This is the best mexican place I’ve had in the area. The headache is so good and so was the quecas. Tacos were excellent and only 1.25. The taco so vapor is great. They also serve drinks! Coming back soon. I think the real name is restaurant la Fonda d.f.

I asked what the charge was for and waitress told me it was for two cokes. I had ordered water.
Will recommend if you are looking for a cheap mexican restaurant.

Food is pretty good. I like the chicharrón guaraches. I’d give them more stars if the staff took your order faster. Even on slow days they almost ignore you plus they hardly check up on you. The cooks are not the problem. They know their cuisine and the food is tasty and ready fast.
Management: please train your waitresses. If the food wasn’t this good I’d go elsewhere. I already drive 30 miles just to eat here.

Just plain bad. My friend found a worm crawling on his huarache. Sick! Told the waitress and she explained it was probably on the lettuce. We were told no charge for our food, no kidding!

I just LOVE this place, its the most authentic food I have ever had besides homade. If you are looking for Mexico City Style and taste, this is the place to go to. It even feels like you are in Mexico City. I always have the yummy pambazos, but everything is sooo delicious. Can’t wait to go back. I drove an hour just to taste that deliciousness!

I came today, Sunday afternoon for a bomb torta and menudo. We sit down, they take like 10 minutes to take our order, 40 minutes later, the torta is here, cold. Did they forget about us or what the fruit? I call the waitress to cancel the order for the menudo because I’ve been waiting for 40 minutes and she rolls her eyes. 2 minutes later menudo is here, cold. So what the fruit were they doing. Totally not leaving a tip.
There are better places with good customer service, don’t recommend this place for that reason. If you want the food order it to go.

I was sitting at home on a Saturday night, didn’t feel like cooking but was in the mood for homemade Mexican food. We decided to try something different than the usual tacos so thanks to Unilocal,I found this place.
I ordered Huarache de Pollo (chicken) I asked for chicken breast because I don’t like shredded chicken simply because you never know what kind of chicken meat you are getting. This was a huge portion and could not finish it but it definitely satisfied my hunger.
Both green and red salsas were spicy just the way I like them. I will be going back to try a different dish.
Giving Tacos DF 4 stars only because it’s my first time eating huaraches and I haven’t tried others to see if this is 5 star worthy. I will come back and edit when I do.

Absolutely incredible. I came for the tacos de chicarron prensado that Jonathan Gold recommended, and those were completely spectacular. But what really stole the show for me was the quesadilla with asada that I ordered — *the* best quesadilla I’ve ever had in my life, not exaggerating. Hand-​made tortillas that are much thicker and more flavorful than even most other hand-​made ones I’ve had. Also tried the tacos al pastor and asada torta and they were both divine as well.
Wonderful, wonderful place.

This place is awesome! Growing up in South East LA there isn’t a shortage of Mexican restaurants, so when you find a good one it is great. I had been driving past this place for quite some time, but decided to give it a try. I don’t have any regrets. Parking can be a bit of headache, but they have a low pro lot in the back so if you can find a way to get back there you should be alright lol.
The people there are really nice. Me and my girl are Michelada explorers so we always have one especially when it is a new place. It didn’t take my breath away, but it was okay. I think it is only $ 6 so that isn’t too bad.
The menu has all your standard Mexican dish selections. The pastor here isn’t that good so I would say to stay away from that option, but the asada and chicken are pretty good. Most people mention the Huaraches and that is definitely a go to here. The burritos are good and so are the tacos. The quesadillas are phat and will be worth the purchase.
I’m happy I decided to stop by here; they just got themselves a couple of regulars.

Colleague had the Huaraches del hombre. I had a steak quesadilla and an Al Pastor taco. Taco was good. Steak was tasty but dry. Colleague could not finish his food as the double layer of carbs were too much it seems.
The owner was very friendly. He recommended items as he realized that we had never eaten at the place before. Extra star for that.
