Really good food. I got a burger with the house chips. One of the best burgers I’ve had and the chips were awesome too. The only thing is the server could use some coaching. Otherwise great place.

I want to love Café Wave sooooooo bad… But i cant. I have driven by café wave many times over the years they have been there. But something about it just didn’t feel very inviting(like not being able to see through the mirrored blue windows and see if anyone else is inside enjoying there self’s). We had them stop a menu by our offices on state street a few weeks ago and I decided what the hell we will try something new. Upon arriving in the strange little strip mall with parking stalls that are way to narrow we went inside to see the most confused restaurant I’ve ever seen. This place seems to have a massive identity crisis. What is its theme, why is it so open, why is the seating sooooo far from the tables in the booths and why is the place setup like a theater for the cooks but you can’t sit and watch the show because there is no seating? Couple that with a rundown feel to the place and it’s just hard to cope with. Service blew! I mean bad. The gal who sat us at our tables didn’t give a f#ck and made sure we knew it. No drink refills, no visits to the table and we were 2 guests with only 6 more in the entire place. The best way I can describe the place is a totally dysfunctional and needs to be on a reality tv show. The food was honestly amazing. The best burger I’ve had in Utah hands down. You can see the chef cares and cooks because he loves what he does. But my guess is his wife resentfully works the front of house and shouldn’t be the face of the restaurant. Honestly its the only thing that makes sense because anyone else would have fired her. She is a cancer in the business. The atmosphere and the attitude just won’t work for me and I wouldn’t be caught dead bringing my clients there for a bite. So much potential… So much fail…

This place is great, had the best Burger and sweet potato fries. They had some great looking salads on the menu I will try next time I come. Service was great as well, very friendly. They have smoothies and my son got hot chocolate. I would recommend this to all my friends.

What a great place. I love small places where the food is great and you get to meet the owner. The food drips of the love put into creating it. Most of the sauces are made in house and I suspect they are a huge part of the experience.

This café is very conveniently located for me. Tonight me and my boyfriend went her to grab a quick to-go order as we had a long day and neither of us wanted to cook. Boy were we surprised by this little gem! The owner was the one who happily served us and chatted us up for a little while while he made us our food. Of course he had some recommendations but my boyfriend and I chose two burgers: He got the heat wave burger(recommended) And I got a cheeseburger. Both of us opened our to-go order once we got home to find two delicious looking hamburgers and two separate containers full of fries, seriously so many!(If you’re going to get the same kind of fries, I would suggest to get just one order). Anyway, both of our burgers were delicious. I would 10⁄10 recommend. We will be returning! The owner also talked to us about his hours and he said that the restaurant isn’t open until ten but he’s usually there earlier if you would like some breakfast or a coffee. Same goes for Sunday’s(which he is not open at all). Try this place, it’s awesome!

This place is really, really good. The location is killing it though. I hate to think of how many people are going to so many mediocre burger chains on the other side of the freeway. Traffic was awful, so we decided to get dinner sooner than later. We were already in the area and were driving down the street when we saw Café Wave and said let’s eat now. We barely made the turn as it was a last second decision, parked, and went in. The interior is nice, the booths are comfy and clean. We looked at the menu for a bit and I decided on the Heat Wave with fries. The food took around 15 minutes to come out, which is fine for something fresh cooked like this. The burger was amazing. I would buy a bottle of the habanero aioli if they sold it. It was seriously good. The meat was great as well. Much better than your average burger. I was in awe of every ounce of this burger. The bacon was thick, not too crispy, very flavorful. The roasted jalapeños were fantastic as well. Some fell out, but I was sure to eat them up as fry toppings. The pepper jack cheese complemented everything very well. Overall this was a great burger. This was so good that it causes the issue where I really want it again, but I also want to try the rest of the menu. The fries and fry sauce were great too. They were there perfect thickness. Not the skinny shoe string or too large steak, but just in the middle. The sauce was great, next time I’ll ask for a side of habanero aioli to mix in with it. Overall this was a great trip. I ride the frontrunner a lot and have always wanted to stop by each time that I’ve noticed it. I wish I had gone a long time ago, I’ve been missing out on great burgers. At this point my mouth is watering and I might need to stop by for dinner.

Great food, super friendly owner & staff. The Heat Wave burger is yummy. Laid back atmosphere but pretty quick service too. I’ll be back :)

After being seated we waited 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. I got up and asked the waitress if we could at least get some water which she handed a pitcher to me and said with an attitude«I’ll be right over». When she finally came over she rushed us through ordering and it definitely showed that she wasn’t paying attention because she got our order wrong. My coworker ordered a burger(north by northwest) with mushroom, onions, and cheddar cheese but got a burger(the heat wave) with jalapeños, anaheims, habanero aioli and pepper jack cheese. She didn’t say anything about the order being wrong cause we had to get back to work after waiting so long for our food in the first place. The burger was so spicy and she only had one glass of water to wash it down with cause the waitress never offered us more water. The fries were great, the burger was ok, and the blue cheese dressing on my salad was horrible. I won’t go back.

Just left Café Wave and I have one word for this restaurant: AMAZING… from the food to the service! The owner is also very nice and seems to take great pride in his restaurant! My boyfriend and I enjoyed the food so much that it was the first time in a long time that we finished everything on our plate. We will for sure be coming back to this awesome café!

We arrived at 11:45, ahead of the lunch rush. We got menus right away, but it took ten minutes to get water and orders taken. Food finally arrived at 12:24. Only one waitress for a café full of people. The food was good, but not outstanding — more bread than filling on my turkey sandwich and my husband’s fries were lukewarm(maybe because of the long wait?) We probably won’t go back. There are several other burger and sandwich joints nearby.

Am very happy with this spot. It’s right across from my hotel and has good vegetarian food. Fresh, delicious. I had super food salad and liked it a lot. Now trying black bean burger tonight. Worth trying it out for sure.

Food is quite pricey and quality not that great. Maybe it was an off day? $ 11 for a mushy burger on a not so good bun. Fries weren’t cooked all the way through either. No drink included.

I love this place! I am vegan and their bean veggie burger was the most flavorful I’ve ever had. Sweet potato fries were delicious. Owner is so nice. Don’t listen to the people who say the food is too expensive. $ 10 for a burger and fries is not that bad! The ingredients really are high quality. Everything is made in house.

I work close by and tried it for lunch. The service was a little slow but it was pretty busy as well for the lunch rush. Once the food came out, I forgot about how slow the service was. I got the braised beef melt which was delicious. I got a half and it was a good sized sandwich. The sweet potato fries were also yummy. I will definitely be back. The prices are reasonable and I love that there is a non-franchise place close by my office.

The food is really good, wide selection of options to choose from, and its always fresh. They have changed there hours to 10−7pm which is alright but I’d rather have them open earlier. They need to update their Unilocal page to say 10 – 7 instead of 7 – 7. I am bumping there stars up to 3 now that I know there new hours. Still some issues regardless.

I’ve worked across the street on and off for two years now, I was sad to see Boston go but was interested when this place moved in; thought I’d give it a chance. First that caught my eye where the prices, which are higher than you’d expect going into a place like this. I went with a the Bacon Bleu burger and a pastry. The portion was a little but bigger than normal but the taste of both the burger and pastry were bland and lack luster. For the price I was really expecting more. The service was just ok but felt like I was getting attitude. This is a new restaurant and I guess we’ll see how long they last like this. My bet is not very long. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere for food.

I stopped at Café Wave early this morning when dropping off my husband at the front runner station. He said it was new and hadn’t checked it out yet, so I decided to stop in. I am a big fan of non-chain restaurants/local small business, and after moving from California a little over two years ago I have found that those restaurants are harder to come by in Utah. I already had picked up my morning coffee so I stopped in to check out what they had for breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised when looking over their menu. They not only offer breakfast, but lunch, dinner, dessert, pastries, coffee drinks, beer, wine… A full menu. I ordered the Wave-o ranchero… Pretty clever name ;)(see attached photo). They offered several different kinds of bread to choose from(sourdough, gluten free, croissants, bagels… to name a few) so I asked what he recommended it on, to which he suggested sourdough. It was very good, and a large portion. The black bean salsa was nice, and the chipotle sour cream was delicious. Not too spicy either, but a lot of flavor. The breakfast potatoes were pretty standard, not much different than I have seen at most places… But still delicious. They just opened a couple of days ago so at the time of my visit I could tell that they were still getting set up with the final touches. The pastry case up front was pretty empty, but my guess is that it will get filled once they are completely up and running. Overall, I am really excited to see a new small business open up not too far away from home. I would like to come back for lunch and/or dinner to check it out. For now I am rating Café Wave a 4 until I try their lunch/dinner menu. However from the breakfast sandwich I had, it was great!
