I’m admittedly not very well versed in Hawaiian food. In fact, this was the first time I’ve ever had Hawaiian food. But if this is Hawaiian food, then dammit, I like Hawaiian food! I ordered the BBQ mixed plate. It comes with hawaiian pulled pork, teriyaki beef, and teriyaki chicken as well as a potato salad and sticky rice. It was good stuff fit for the heartiest of carnivores! If I had to sum up Hawaiian food, it would be tasty, sweet BBQ. Like it was cooked in the smoke of pineapples. Who knows if that’s even possible, but it helps the visual alright? Anyway, this is a quality place deserving higher than it’s 3.5 star rating. 4 stars all the way.

Food isnt what you’d expect at a restaurant. It is what you would expect to eat being invited to the dining room of a Hawaiian family. Only 1or 2 dishes worth eating again. Garlic chicken is glazed and yummy, however Teriyaki is out of the bottle flavor you can get at any super market. 3 stars because of lack of good flavors, and cleanliness of establishment.

Food tastes great. Great price and great service. I ordered the Katsu/Garlic chicken and it was amazingly delicious. Highly recommend this place for lunch or any meal really.

Spam moose-a-bee is some top notch nom nom. If you ever need to gain weight or cut weight for wrestling practice laniki is the place. Huge portions or huge small portions if you fancy. Their Mac salad is so authentic it needs a green card marriage. The teriyaki’s got a black belt, with that kick. Peaaaace

This place was great. We had a Groupon deal for two meals and two drinks for $ 11 – 12(don’t remember the exact number). We paid roughly $ 2 in tax and received enough food to feed Hawaii. The menu is a bit short, but the food was flavorful and satisfying. The garlic chicken was quite tasty, but it’s so rich you can’t eat much of it.

I was super impressed with this place as I came in with very low expectations, I decided to try it just based on reviews. I am happy to say that I will return to LaniKai. Ordered the garlic chicken and teriyaki beef I also ordered some fried bread, the garlic chicken was amazing and it was cooked nice, not dry at all. The fried bread was really delicious and not too sweet as they just dust it with powdered sugar. The servings here are very generous. I loved it and what was even better is that I got to eat here with a Groupon deal and even without the Groupon this place is still pretty affordable. Service was also nice and friendly.

We absolutely love this place!!! The teriyaki chicken is amazing and so is the macaroni! It’s literally one of the only places I’ll eat.

Food was great. Portions were reasonable and the staff were all very friendly. The only concern we had was how flat some of the fountain drinks were. We may have just came in on a bad day. Wouldn’t mind coming back to try other items on the menu.

I read the reviews here and got the coupon from groupon. came here for lunch one afternoon. Place was pretty empty at 1pm. ordered Garlic chicken and teriyaki beef. The food is really not that great. Portions are small(maybe because i used the groupon deal?). The beef was over cooked so it was tough. I wouldn’t recommend coming to this place. The menus on their website is outdated.

Since moving here to Utah with lots of beautiful Polynesians around. I was curious to try the food and this was a scrumptious start. What can I say? It was all good and reasonably priced. The garlic chicken, kalua pork, mac salad, smiley faces and themed music.

The BBQ short ribs are awesome! Just what you need when you need tons of flavor and plenty of food.

Since I have moved from California, I have been looking for a restaurant similar to ono’s Hawaiian bbq and L&L. Lanikai grill is a great place and their best dish is the garlic chicken. I tried the chicken katsu and the teriyaki beef but the garlic chicken was by far the best. When I first came here I was iffy but the garlic chicken is what got me to come back. I also bought he groupon deal and this place will be one of my regulars.

Love the katsu chicken. Delicious mac salad. No one does kalua pork better than my dad though.

This place is good. Not great but good. I had the Chicken Katsu. It was just what I was craving. However the Chicken was a bit over cooked and quite dry. That was disappointing. I should have tried the Katsu/Garlic chicken combo. The woman behind the counter didn’t seem at all excited to be at work. Sure I get that but in the world of customer service a little smile would be nice. And it goes a long way. The place is very clean. I really liked that.

Man. I hate giving any place 2 stars but it just wasn’t that good in my opinion. Other reviewers have mentioned the dry meats and I had the same. I swear the beef was beef jerky dipped in sauce. Chicken was dry also and dunked in sauce. Pork was moist but not much flavor. Couldn’t really figure out what the sauce on the table was. Seemed like really watered down teriyaki sauce. Thought the rice and macaroni salad was good. Service was real fast and friendly. Definitely the best part of the visit.

They have very good chicken and beef. I have eaten here now 5 times and it is good every time. A bit on the expensive side you pay $ 10 for a mixed plate but you can get 1 ½ meals out of it.

Great basic Hawaiian food! I had the kalua pork plate with two scoops of white rice, sauce, and macaroni salad. Everything was great! They sell guava and passion fruit juices in cans. Nice décor and friendly employees.

I liked it! I got the $ 11.50 groupon for 2 adult mixed plates + 2 drinks. Upon using my groupon, I was charged about $ 1.70 for tax. I switched out the fountain drinks for canned Hawaiian drinks in the fridge. With the groupon, it was a steal! They packed at least a pound of meat in each box with 2 scoops of rice &1 scoop of macaroni salad. I tried all 4 of the meats that were available with the Groupon purchase(teriyaki beef, teriyaki chicken, garlic chicken, kahlua pork). Most to least favorite: Garlic Chicken: This reminded me of popcorn chicken! Meat wasn’t overcooked, it was battered, and crispy on the outside! I really liked the garlic chicken and will consider it a must-try! Kahlua Pork: This was really tender and very much like pulled pork(imagine it without any bbq sauce). There were green onions spiked within the meat, so I loved it! Teriyaki Chicken: I wasn’t a huge fan of the teriyaki sauce in general… seemed too sweet to me, but the chicken itself was tender and moist. Teriyaki Beef: I wasn’t a huge fan of the teriyaki sauce, didn’t like the beef taste and the beef leaned towards the fatty side. Texture was tough as well, so I wasn’t a huge fan. Sides: Rice: I drenched the sauce with the sauce they gave me and it became more enjoyable ! I personally didn’t like the type of rice they gave… I usually prefer short-medium grained sticky type rices. Macaroni Salad: I normally don’t like macaroni salads because of the mayo, but I actually didn’t mind this one! I really enjoyed it actually and thought it was a great contrast to other parts of the meal. +1 Star: Good service. Everyone smiled at me and was really friendly overall. +1 Star: Good food. They started to make the food right after I ordered, so everything came out piping hot! Portions are really big too! +1 Star: Good price(with Groupon)! For about $ 13 I got 2 boxes packed with food(half of which was just meat) and 2 drinks! +1 Star: Clean location. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and even that was very clean and smelled of a milky cinnamon! The tables were well kept, the counters were organized, and everything was in order. –1 Star: Even though I am a fan, I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. It’s good food to me because I like meat and rice, but for people who actually want greens with their food… this probably isn’t the place for you… unless you can be satisfied by the slice of roasted seaweed covering spam musubi($ 2 each). P. S. If you are in the area and want to give it a try, buy the Groupon! If you think it’s too much food, treat a friend or two! You can always to-go the food, take it home and separate the meat, rice, and macaroni salad into containers for multiple meals! I was able to make my 2 boxes into 4 fulfilling meals!

I was tempted to give this place a one star rating… but I don’t think they deserve my first one star rating! And I haven’t been in the restaurant, as my lover brought take out home.(They say visiting the joint would definitely take it down to a one star) First strike, they didn’t have the salmon as advertised on their online menu! On a Monday evening, around 6:30, I don’t excuse that… maybe they had a lunch slam with a bunch of hungry salmonites, but… sorry. No forgiveness. As the groupon we had didn’t include the other fish(where did it say that??) I ended up with the chicken and… chicken. So I arrive at strike two, the chicken — and I’m not a fan to begin with, I admit, but I can tell, I grew up eating this stuff — was soooo dry. Sorry, again… but not really. Especially when this chicken is dripping in sauce, I see no reason to let it dry out so dreadfully. Chicken a la desert. And strike three… so sad… but the macaroni salad… really? Can you make it so flavorless? I mean just mayo has more flavor. I really don’t know what they put into this, but it’s disappointing. I do not recommend this place.
