Very disappointed, we ordered online on a Sunday an hour early and when we got there(even later than the requested time by about 5 minutes it STILL wasn’t ready. It was a completely empty in there. The 2 men working there acted very confused when we showed up and I said we ordered online. After 5 minutes of waiting he handed us our food, good thing is everything we ordered was there and accounted for. Bad thing is we ate it. I had the Meat plate, with pulled pork, Texas style brisket, a «buttery» roll, Mac and cheese and Coleslaw. Mac and cheese was good just standard restaurant Mac and cheese. The coleslaw was actually pretty good, the«buttered» roll was NOT buttered and was honestly stale, my biggest mistake was eating the meat. The pulled pork looked dry and the brisket was very discolored.(It had that green/pink tint to it that meat gets after being set out for too long not under the correct temperature) so I didn’t eat much of that and I had to SMOTHER the meats in the original BBQ sauce to make both the meats okay. Hours after we finished our to go dinner my stomach has been upset all night, not handling the food well at all. Will not be going here in the future, especially its over priced to eat food that will end up making you sick all night. Would you like to pay $ 30 to be sick? I didn’t think so. I’d rather pay 20 more dollars to go sit down at Famous daves, or R & R barbecue.

Love the bbq sauce. The meat is always luke warm which is frustrating would be 5 star if they learn to serve it a bit more fresh tasting. The sides are always great and the deal of the day helps you save a few bucks if you aren’t sure where to start. I seem to find myself here once a week.

They are so nice here. Friendly, helpful, and eager to please – The staff is a refreshing highlight of every visit to this place. Five stars. The food is okay. It’s fast food barbecue, so it can’t compete with a real-deal smokehouse, but it’s pretty flavorful, fast, and cheap. My kids like the complimentary ice cream and beg to come here for that reason alone. 3 stars. Split the difference and call it a four star joint. Worth a visit when we’re on the run and need a quick meal.

I love this location! They’ve been having free kids meals with every adult meal every day of the week! They have the best mac & cheese, ribs and love their barbecue sauce. The staff here has been very friendly every time we’ve come, they treat my kids really well!

I usually love Dickeys and had to talk my husband into going. We went in 30 mins before they closed and they no longer had any sides available. Something they didn’t tell us until after we had ordered. They dumped a bunch of turkey on my plate and said«Here’s your two sides» and told he cashier to charge me full price. The employees were rude and obviously too busy watching TV to help us. The food was terrible and overcooked. For this restaurant that has a horrible reputation they sure aren’t doing anything to change that impression. Sadly I would never go back.

Rarely does a restaurant earn five stars from me – Dickey’s BBQ Pit in South Jordan has earned it. So I went for a run on Wednesday night and I will tell you that the heavenly smell coming from this BBQ place literally stopped me in my tracks. Having no cash, I continued my run only to return the following day. I entered the clean and well-lit business and was greeted by the manager. I looked over the large menu displays and fixed my eye on the«Westerner» — the manager offered me some samples of the different cooked components. They were most yummy. He then advised that had I come in on Wednesday, I could have gotten the Special — Westerner + a couple sides and drink. In entrepreneurial fashion, he bent the rules a bit and let me have the Wednesday Special on Thursday. The rest of the staff were also similarly customer-focused and the overall sense of joy in the place was palpable. The food was prepared in short order and I found myself at a clean well-appointed table in a jiffy. The music was both appropriate for the locale and of a decibel level that allowed my mind to reflect on recent journeys and future endeavors. As for the BBQ itself, although I am neither a «foodie» nor a BBQ fanatic, I will tell you that my belly was amazingly happy. They have a really good sauce that most excellently complimented the sandwich elements and cross-cut waffle fries. On concluding my brief encounter with the food, I looked off in the distance and noticed a sign indicating that Ice Cream cones were Free! No lie. I swooped over to the user-friendly soft-serve dispensing device and crafted a cone piled high with the delightful dessert. In summary — Dickey’s BBQ in South Jordan has earned five-stars for its superior customer service and savory digestible offerings. On my next visit, and there will be a next, I will ensure that I am accompanied by others in context of a local corporate lunch. Cheers!

Very over priced I’m from the south and know good barbecue. This is not good barbecue. The meat is dried out and it’s just not good. After my husband ate some kind of 3 meat combo or something like that he had to have me make him something to eat because he was still hungry. He would give them NO stars.

I have been to this location a few times. The lunch hour Rush is quick and even though sometimes there is a good number of people in line the staff are great at getting the line moving and having our food ready promptly. I always get the beef brisket and it has always been moist and tender. They have a good selection of sides. I particularly enjoy the waffle fries and bbq beans. Not to mention that they do offer free soft serve ice cream! They offer 3 types of bbq sauce, original, spicy, sweet. I usually get original. But nothing is stopping you and being adventurous, go ahead and mix all 3 sauces and let your palate go on a ride. I gave it a 3 because this is a franchise and nothing really stood out to make this one any special than the rest.

I’ve been to several Dickey’s locations and this is the only one where I’ve been greeted, «Welcome to Dickey’s!» I usually get the chopped brisket. However, at other Dickey’s I have to pick out the fat. At THIS Dickey’s there was not fat to pick out. Very pleased with my meal and remember there’s the free ice cream cone.

I suppose they will never live down the«iced tea» incident, but to be fair… most other chains have received bad press over similar incidents in their histories. So, let’s move on from it. I think this store is trying really hard to make up for the bad press. The staff is always friendly and try to be as quick and efficient as possible. The food is always fresh and hot. I too have eaten their $ 1 sandwiches and have not been completely satisfied, but I love their links! They are«the best Jerry, the best»(Seinfeld humor, sorry.)

My husband and I both got the dinner special, which is a big BBQ sandwich(chicken, sausage, or pulled pork), 1 side, and a drink for 6.99. I got the BBQ chicken sandwich and I really liked the chicken, it is all really tender breast meat sliced thick and fresh. My husband got the pulled pork and it was good too. They don’t have the best sides though, the potato salad and the coleslaw taste overwhelmingly like mayonnaise, and the waffle fries are just alright. My husband does really like their mac and cheese though. They have three different BBQ sauces to choose from: spicy, sweet, and original. I like the original the best, but all of them are pretty good. They also have free self serve ice cream cones, but on this visit the ice cream was really icy and bland. The service was alright, the cashier kept ringing up the wrong items, and didn’t seem interested in helping us. The only other thing that I don’t like about this restaurants setup is that the counter you order at is really high(like almost 5 feet), so you can’t see your food being prepared or talk to the server very well. Overall, decent food, but pretty pricey without a coupon.

*Review based on pulled pork sandwich promotion* Went here on the last day for the pulled pork sandwich promotion from the lye-tea situation. This review is only for that promotion I got. I got 2 pulled pork sandwiches for 2 dollars. I thought they would be very small, but were bigger than I thought. The pulled pork was surprisingly good with the house BBQ sauce they had on the side. They also have free self-serve vanilla ice cream, which was a surprise. Although the pulled pork sandwich was good, I don’t think I’ll be paying the full price for it. I would rather go to other places for sandwiches for the same price.

We came here for the pulled pork sandwich promotion they had going on, so the review may be a little biased. Overall the food was pretty good considering the promotion price. I would have to say the pork itself was fairly dry and needed a lot of extra BBQ sauce(the BBQ sauce was actually really good). One of the redeeming factors was that they had free self-serve ice cream. Kind of on the fence about if I’ll be coming back or not. It’s a little bit pricey for lunch(which is when I’m usually around the area).

I went to one once and did not like it. That said, this is the now infamous location where lye was accidentally mixed with tea to make ice tea. A woman who drank it burned her throat and almost died. Today in the Salt Lake Tribune they reported that the Salt Lake County DA’s office investigated and could find nothing with which to prosecute them. However the woman’s lawyer wants investigated how the lye came to be put in there through negligence of some kind and what about the manager who reportedly found the lye but wasn’t sure what it was and burned his mouth tasting it? What happened to it after that?! I have to say I will never go to this location or any Dickey’s again.

We rolled in around 8:30p, 30 min before they closed. Now I understand it was getting close to closing time, but we were told they were out of 3 – 4 meats and 2 sides. I guess they have not figured out correct quantities to order yet. The ribs were really good — would recommend. The pulled pork was just ok — a little dry and definitely needed bbq sauce. The mashed potatoes were good, but I would not recommend the green beans(soggy, worse than canned) or Caesar salad(barely get anything). One weird thing is there was a picture of corn as a side; however we were told they don’t serve corn. Weird. Also, I love corn and would love to see it on the menu in the future. The atmosphere was fine, and the free soft serve(dine in only) was definitely a plus. Hopefully they have the other meats and sides next time.

The manager took a cell phone call in the middle of taking my order– it took 15 mins from the time I ordered to get my food(no one was in front of me). Everything was flopped on the plate haphazardly

I am not much of a meat eater, but I blame it on being pregnant I started to crave some meat today. Heard from co-workers Dickey’s was THE spot for BBQ. I was leary of fast food bbq, BUTWASBLOWNAWAY! I had the one meat special with brisket, MEATWASAMAZING. The baked potato casserole was like a loaded mashed potatoe blend that was to die for although I did not care for the jalapeño beans. I give them 4 stars on food and 5 for customer service! They gave me some samples when I told them I hadn’t been there before asked what I liked and reccomended the best price option to get a try for the food. The young man at the counter let me have a free drink & free roll. They also have free pickles & ice cream. The spicy sauce is PERFECT, actually spicy & the good sweetness of a nice bbq sauce. I’ll be back in the future!

Being a BBQ fan, I am not impressed. It is not that good. It is also a bit overpriced for what you get. Do yourself a favor and go to Pats downtown.

This place is pretty good. I got the special(pulled pork, cheddar sausage, two sides and a drink) and the price was fantastic. The meat was nice and tender and the sauce was pretty good. The fries and fired onions were salty but that is how that goes. One aspect of the place that is both a positive and negative, the fried food. They cooked my fries and onion straws when I ordered. Meaning they were not ready by the time I paid. I went and sat down with my group and they began bringing out fries. I was the last in the group to be noticed, apparently, so even though I ordered before most of them I got my fired food last. Not a big deal but they could probably use a better system to bring them out. Make sure you are watching for those fries when the workers start walking around. Like I said, wasn’t a big deal. They are still 4-star for the quality of food, the price, and the free ice cream.
