Oh Village Inn, why do you do this to me? I just wanted a dependable place for pancakes I thought you’d fit the bill, but alas, it was not to be. Service here has deteriorated with each visit to the point that I’d be better off running to the store for a box of Bisquick(and quicker, too). They always forget items, they don’t bring essential condiments(like syrup), and the portions are getting smaller and smaller. Refills? What refills? We have to scrounge silverware from other tables. This last visit we waited over 20 minutes for pancakes and eggs when the restaurant was almost empty. That’s just too long. Then we stood at the cash register for over 5 minutes trying to pay(the manager was nowhere to be found). Yeah…I think we’re done here. :(

Nothing super great. I had a $ 11 cheese burger that had 2 patties bacon and onion rings on it. The free pie on Wednesday was nice however it wasn’t anything to blow me away. The service took a while and was hard to get ahold of even though it wasn’t very busy. Overall it was meh.

Place was nice. Our server was very good. Food was decent. Reminded me of cocos in cali. Its not fine dining but it got the job done. Prices were average and about what we expected.

I’ll never understand why this restaurants don’t do better business and reviews. This location is as good as any. We’ve only been a few times and it’s been a while, but it’s solid, plus it’s new and in a great spot.

Their pie is pretty awesome. Their food is alright, but it’s not something I would ever crave. We usually come here because it’s open late and we’re night owls; otherwise it would be a skip.

After all. It is village inn. Youre not allowed to complain about service or quality. But you would expect hot coffe at a breakfast place.(Even in utah) …maybe?

My husband on I wen’t for breakfast recently and we probably won’t go back. The food didn’t taste very good and his food was served cold. His crêpe was too thick and didn’t taste right. My hollandaise sauce tasted like it was made from a powder and it was a weird gloppy thick texture like they didn’t even follow the mixing instructions correctly. There was even a funny smell in the place. The following weekend we went to an IHOP that was fairly close by and the food was served hot, the crepes were thin, and the food tasted good. I doubt we will return to this Village Inn.

Had breakfast here while driving through. The food was delicious for the price(especially the eggs!) And the service was absolutely fantastic. I will definitely come again if I’m ever in the area.

You know that scene from The Incredibles where Mr. incredible’s boss just keeps going«not happy»? That’s me at this village inn location. My order was simple. I wanted the chocolate peanut butter pie. It was the only thing I ordered, and I had been drooling over the thought of eating it the entire night. After a considerable amount of time, the pie arrived. It was not the peanut butter pie that I had ordered, but some sort of chocolate pie. Sure, I LOVELOVELOVE chocolate, but please give me what I freaking ordered. I decided to keep quiet and just deal with what I was given. The pie was less than appetizing. The temperature was not right, which was a monstrous turn off for me. The chocolate filling was mediocre at best, and the crust… oh the crust. The crust basically was a lightly toasted lump of pure shortening. It was absolutely atrocious and stomach turning. I am extremely sensitive to textures, and this crust almost sent me over the edge. Why is this review not 1 star? The service. Everyone I came in contact with was super nice and really helpful. I would feel bad about leaving just one star.

My husband and I have decided that this is our new favorite breakfast food place. We are now both seniors and Village Inn gives seniors a discount. Plus on Wednesdays they have a free piece of pie. Most impressive was watching their general manager. He not only cleared the tables but opened a cash register to help out. The wait help are always friendly and nice. Yesterday, Christine did an excellent job bringing us our food and getting everything correct. It’s one thing to be proficient during a slow hour, but when the tables are full and they’re still able to bring our food out in a timely manner, fresh, warm, and yummy — you’ve got my vote.

I’ve never been here for anything else, but breakfast. Today, I had the Sirloin Steak and Eggs. Now — before I comment about the steak, I wish to indicate that I am not usually a fan of Sirloin Steaks anyway. That being stated, the steak wasn’t all that and actually was sort of lacking taste. To top it off, the steak was grisly(more so than other sirloins that I’ve tried). The other items: eggs, hash browns and rye toast were all good — as to be expected of eggs, hash browns and rye bread. Service was good, though it wasn’t remarkable or stand out like. Overall… quick and convenient place, but easily forgotten until the next time I drive by with a hungry belly.

As with everything, you’ve got to be subjective with how you review somewhere. I’ve given fine dining restaurants 3 stars, I’ve given fast food places 4 stars… you get what I mean. I only ever come here to eat the breakfast items, there’s just those odd times that it sounds good for whatever weird reason that is. Usually that means I’m craving a chicken-fried-steak skillet and some pancakes! Now, combine that odd craving with them opening one in the District and thus close to where I live, and… well…a visit to Village Inn for breakfast or brunch becomes inevitable from time to time. As others have said, compared to IHOP and Denny’s, Village Inn truly is the standout in that trio. Both the food and the service are always of consistent quality in my experience, and regardless of location. For what they do, I would have to say they do it pretty well. Overall, I’ve never had a particularly bad experience at any Village Inn, and the food is always up to the same standard. You get what you expect at a great price, and for that, how can I have any real complaints?

Used to be good. Now the food isn’t good and service included a glass of water dumped on my husband. Manager saw whole thing and didn’t even apologize. Too bad. We used to come here all the time.

We’ve never had a problem here. Food and service have always been satisfactory. No, you won’t a get fine dining experience in any aspect, and I’m guessing everyone knows that coming in. But for a chain competing with the likes of IHOP and Denny’s, Village Inn stands out as the clear winner. This is a very convenient location for us, with plenty of parking, and is really only unreasonably busy on weekend mornings before Noon. I eat nothing but breakfast here, regardless of time of day. Personally, I prefer the breakfasts at one of the many one-off diners around the valley. But there are occasions where a VI Belgian Waffle Combo and their surprisingly delicious pie is just the ticket. And who could deny themselves FREEPIE* on Wednesdays? Not me.(Uh yeah, I get pie with breakfast. Don’t judge me.) Their warm strawberry rhubarb is my favorite; Hubby defaults to the Banana Crème. It’s far better than Marie Callender’s pie any day of the week. Now if I could only talk them into cutting the slice a bit larger. Coffee could be better. It’s not nasty by any means, but it’s pretty flat and lacking in flavor. I noticed that they’re now offering a new Premium Roast coffee in Regular, Decaf or Dark Roast. I haven’t had the opportunity to try it yet. I’m crossing my fingers it’s better than their standard coffee. One consistent gripe I have with VI, and others like it, is their checkout process. I absolutely hate lining up at the cash register on the way out, in the same space as the folks waiting to get in. It’s a veritable cluster-farg that could be avoided if the servers did it for you. There are occasional service gaffes here, especially if it’s busy. But we’ve never experienced anything that isn’t corrected immediately. The service staff have never been anything but nice and accommodating. We always leave somewhat gratified. *With purchase.(You can’t simply run in there and just order your free piece of pie. Trust me.)

Food is nothing spectacular, but at least it’s predictable. The service always seems a bit slow and its hard to get refills. This time our waitress was actually at the register playing a game on her phone against her manager when we tracked her down. #service #fail
