This is a fantastic place. We came here based on a different Unilocal review and were not let down. It is a classy place that you can dress up but we came in jeans and that was ok too. The food is pricey, but if you have a refined palette, you surely won’t be disappointed. We ordered the frog legs and lobster bisque. Both were excellent. Also, ordered the NY steak and mashed. It was good but not the beast steak. I say this because I’m not a steak girl usually, several others at the tables tried it and loved. Great presentation! A great experience.

It is at best mediocre restaurant, we were told by the black jack dealer in the casino that this food here was great… Well we were disappointed. The ambiance is nice but that’s not what we came for. My husband ordered the beef Wellington(medium) but was served rare and not much flavor $ 46.00. I ordered a ribeye for $ 48.00 It was tough to chew… We are not the type of people that well complain or ask for refund we are the type that we’ll never go back or recommend the place to anyone. So… with that said you have been warned!

After winning on the craps table me and my girlfriend had a fancy dinner. The spinach salad was amazing steaks were amazing even the bread was great. They have a nice selection of wine and water. The lighting in there is really dark makes it seem like a cavern or its 1970. Pricey but really good.

Had the filet minion med rare, so smacking. The marinade was perfect. My mother in law has the rack of lamb, so tender and delicious. Highly recommend to come here. Very friendly staff.

My parents have been going to the Sage room since I was 0 and have been telling me about it for years. They finally took my brother and I for my dads 60th bday. We ordered oysters and escargot for appetizers, which my brother and parents loved. I got French onion soup, which was delicious. For my main course, I got the steak Diane, which is a filet prepared at the table. It was cooked perfectly(medium as requested) and was garnished with mushrooms, and some veggies. See attached photo. I liked the steak but not as much as my dads fillet. He got the fillet with the pepper corn sauce. PROS Great service. The staff was very attentive. The menu is made up of classic steak house options. There should be something for everyone. CONS There is no bathroom located in the restaurant. You have to go outside the restaurant, down to the right, up a escalator, then down a hall to get to the bathroom.

Just incredible. Any meal at the Sage Room is sure to be exceptional. The service is quick, attentive and friendly and the food is next level. We went with a large party, so I was able to sample many menu items — lobster bisque, spinach salad, iceberg wedge, beef wellington, porterhouse steak, rabbit ravioli, filet mignon and berry cheesecake. I myself ordered the lamb, but was totally blown away by everything I tasted. Thanks, Sage Room, for another great night!

We had mothers day dinner here. Be sure to make a reservation. The food is amazing and so is the service. The highlight of my meal was definitely the escargot. It was to die for. I would definitely come back here to eat again

This is our favorite steak house in Tahoe, we’ve been coming here for over 15 years and the food is always wonderful as well as the service. My favorite starter is the mesclun salad, fresh, cold, and nice acidic dressing. This time we had the filet mignon and ribeye, both perfectly cooked and tender. And for dessert the berry cheesecake! They have quite a few seafood choices, but we always get steaks. The décor is kind of old school, dark lighting, traditional steak house, with a western flair. Make a reservation because it gets busy on the weekend. Kick back with a bottle of wine in one of the booths, super romantic! The bar area is small, but you can also hang out there before your table is ready or eat in the bar.

Seriously, the best steak(ribeye) I’ve ever had! French onion soup was massive! A must for dinner while in Tahoe. It’s in Harvey’s by the game tables. Don’t miss it!

This is a review for the Sea Bass at the Sage Room. I enjoyed the miso flavor and this fish was cooked perfectly, not overcooked. The French fries were tasty. I also ordered the French onion soup which I enjoyed. The bread that came on the table was only okay. The flat bread was not good but the loaf was very soft and tasty.

The Sage Room Steakhouse is amazing!!! It is on the pricy side for sure! But well worth it! We went for my sisters bachelorette party and everyone loved what they ordered! They prepare the Caesar salad table side. And our loaded potatoes. I had the filet Mignon and it was amazing! So juicy and tender! It came with veggies and a loaded potato. I believe that was a $ 50 plate. The ciabatta bread was great. Service was too. Overall it was delicious and I can’t wait to come back!

This restaurant definitely exceeded our expectations. Old school is definitely the overall theme, but that is what made it unique to the usual swanky steakhouses we frequent. All items are served from carts that are wheeled out from the kitchen. Many menu items are also prepared table-side which made the meal interesting. We waited until Friday afternoon to make our Friday evening reservation and that was a bit of a mistake. The earliest reservation we could get was 8:15. We weren’t expecting restaurants in Tahoe to be that busy. I would recommend making reservations in advance if you like to eat at dinner time because that restaurant is cozy. My husband started with two appetizers, the escargot and the rabbit ravioli. He loved them both. I tried the rabbit ravioli and the brown gravy style sauce on top was delicious. I ordered the Filet Beef Wellington which is hard to find at steakhouses. The pastry around the meat was flaky and buttery perfection. The meat inside was prepared just as requested and also delicious. The dish was also served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. I think it was great to have sides included at a steakhouse. My husband had the Seared Antelope Tenderloin which was served with blackberry sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, and vegetables. The antelope like the beef wellington was perfectly prepared and the blackberry sauce was a perfect pairing with the meat. I sampled the garlic mashed potatoes and they tasted rich and buttery as mashed potatoes should taste. We topped off the meal with the Cherries Jubilee for Two. This is prepared table-side and is not only a delicious dessert, but a fun show. Choosing a dessert was difficult because they have one of the most impressive dessert menus that I’ve seen in a long time.

I’ve been coming to the sage room for at least 20 years. The quality is still the best. It’s been at least 10 years since I’ve been there. My fiancé was very impressed by this restaurant and he’s been to many expensive restaurants. We ordered a small plate of sun dried tomato shrimp scampi. It was a special. Delicious, then we shared the filet and lobster tail. We ordered a side of asparagus then for dessert, we had the banana foster. Everything was just top notch. I love love this place and I’ll keep coming back. Our waiters were so attentive and they were dressed in suits. If I only can find a place in San Jose that offers the same food and service, I would be so happy.

Exceptional experience Thursday, September 3. Ordered the filet mignon with shrimp. Excellent cut and quality for the meat and the shrimp were in a nice marinade. We also had the caprese salad and lobster bisque soup. HIGHLY recommend the lobster bisque its fantastic. Distilled water offered is FIJI and free! Came out to 116 and worth every penny.

Five of us went on a Friday night for a 7:30 dinner. I have been here many times and it is one of our stock Dinners in Tahoe, mainly because the casino comps it. The Sage Room is a old school style steak house inside Harvey’s casino, if you want a great view of the lake or mountains don’t go here, no windows(try 19 instead). You can get classic table side preparations of items like Caesar salad, spinach salad with hot bacon dressing, steak Diane, and bananas foster. We were seated immediately and were provided water, we then sat for ten minutes before our waiter took our drink order and it was another ten until my and other person’s cocktails arrived and the wine drinkers were told the wine they wanted was not available, no altunstive was suggested so we found them one. After the slur hate wine arrived we placed our orders, everyone opted for a starter, Caesar salad, and entrée. Our starters arrived after about 15 minutes and my oysters were excellent as was the escargot that I sampled. One downside is that everyone’s starter was not brought at the same time. After about 25 minutes we inquired about our salads and our server finally arrived to do the nice table side preparation of what is always a tasty salad. Finally our mains arrived after a reasonable tine. I had the 12 oz prime NY steak and it was very tasty but it was over cooked(I ordered medium rare and it was closer to medium well), I decided that after two hours I just wanted to eat and did not make an issue of it. The lobster tail I sampled was also good, the folks who had the Steak Diane enjoyed the preparation but the meat was over cooked, so they said it was a little tough. We ended the night with bananas foster which was not as good as I remember, we also tried the chocolate lava cupcake which looks better than it tastes. Overall the food was a 4⁄5 and the service was a 2⁄5.

Classic steak house with formal table side service in a high class ambience. Although emphasis is of course on red meat, there are some nice alternative fresh sea food, poultry and game choices. Companion enjoyed steak Diane and I had the antelope with jalapeño rib complimented by blackberry sauce. Both were perfectly prepared and the Diane was entertaining to watch prepared table side. In advance we enjoyed the spinach salad, also prepared at the tar which was excellent. Final course was the bananas foster. Recommend splitting as it was a lot of food and felt like rolling out!

Just because the prices are outrageous and the staff walks around with their noses in the air doesn’t mean the food or experience will be good. And if you can’t cook beef correctly, then you shouldn’t be a steakhouse. The last time we were here was a year ago and I’m only reviewing now… Beef wellington came out raw. Not rare, but RAW. When we inquired about this, it was sent back right away, but what came back? The same dish, but it was heated up. Alright, I understand you wanna save the piece of meat, but… at almost $ 100 a person, I think you can afford to throw the mess up away, or at least not serve it again to paying customers. The rack of lamb was also raw, and when we sent it back, the same thing happened. It was the same rack, but just warmed up. You’re a fancy steakhouse, not a cheap diner. Everything just took forever and a day. Our server just popped up whenever he felt like, and it didn’t seem like he was in the mood to be present. There was little apology for our meal and nothing was comped. I’ll never come back. If I feel like having a fancy meal, I’d rather walk across the way to Friday’s Station.

I went here with my family and it was amazing! My brother and I both got the filet mignon. It came with a baked potato and a few veggies. My mom got the Alaskan fish(don’t remember the exact name), it was one of the specials for today. She said it was a little overcooked. My dad got the salmon, which was another special. It was a little overcooked as well. Overall, this restaurant is great! Our server was super helpful as well! :)
