OMG is what I have to say about this place! Went here on a visit to Lake Tahoe… everything is made in house and is delicious! I got almost one of everything… spent $ 37 and took the biggest box back to the cabin! We cut up everything and tasted it all… must trys: cheesecake brownie, cheesecake, lemon meringue, apple turnover. There was a delicious looking ham/cheese croissant but we were in a «sweets» mood but next time, for sure! I had an «Orca» chai latte… fat free so I don’t know why it’s called«Orca» lol but it was delicious too. Very friendly and warm atmosphere, café style with plenty of tables and chairs. Definitely going back on our next visit to South Lake Tahoe.

This is a solid recommendation for SLT area as quite frankly, there isn’t a lot of places that bake artisanal made from scratch goods. They serve espresso(a-ok), make their own bread, granola and pastries. My favorite is their cheesecake on graham crumble, delicate and not overly sweet as well as croissants with chocolate and lemon meringue tart. Good choice for breakfast and when the craving doesn’t let go.

We love this place — 2 visits during our 4 day visit. Everything was great — loafs of bread, bagels, peach pie, muffins, blueberry breakfast loaf and awesome tarts and cookies. It is a good thing we don’t live close by but we will be back next time!

We were visiting from out of town and it was my daughter’s first birthday while in Tahoe. I asked Sugar Pine Bakery if they could make a smash cake and a cake for the rest of us. I emailed a couple of pictures of ideas and colors and the cakes turned out so beautiful! And they tasted amazing as well! Thank you so much!

This little bakery, set back from the street, is a worthy find. The owners take care with all of their baked goods and we enjoyed stopping there on a day out for a scenic drive. We brought home delicious rye bread and will make it a point to return.

This is a great little bakery, with a large selection of sandwiches and pastries. The cinnamon bun was delicious. The dough was slightly flaky and the icing was creamy. I got an onion panino to go on fresh 9 grain bread. There is plenty of seating and a nice bathroom. A perfect spot for a snack on the road.

SugarPine was great to work with! I ordered a special birthday cake for my partner on our Tahoe trip. I had one made previously for his birthday in our hometown and it was huge hit! So for this trip I wanted a similar one made so his friends could enjoy it with him. I let SugarPine know I’d like a fancy Raider cake and sent them a photo of the one I had in Sacramento. SugarPine charged me less money and were excited to bake the cake. I went to pick it up Friday afternoon. The girls working there were all smiles, super friendly. The cake turned out to be amazing! It was the Boston Cream flavor, one I haven’t had before, and so delicious! I love yellow cake, and the layers that tasted like a custard and a chocolate ganache. So good! In fact I had some for breakfast this morning. Lol. Thank you, SugarPine! :-)

Amazing pastries! We tried the choc chip cookies, mini cherry and peach pies and espresso was so good. Skip Starbucks and head here for a local treat. Next time I hope I can make it early enough to try a cinnamon roll. Thanks for the great service.

The Transformer cake I órdered for My son’s bday was excellent! The cake was súper moist & the chocolate frosting was perfectly sweet. The 12 inch cake was perfect for 25 people & we had left overs. Yum!

Was looking for a sweet treat and I can’t have dairy was so happy I tried this bakery. Unilocal has never steered me wrong. The frosting on the cupcake I tried was amazing not to sweet, moist cake, and amazing treat they put on the top. It was a cross between marzipan and marshmallow. The cherry and apple mini pies tried by our group were all a success. If you are in the area don’t miss out. It is closes to the Nevada state line about a mile into California.

Staff seemed bothered and unfriendly. food was so so. Only two types of bread for sandwich sour and 9 grain. Any other bread was extra. Most local places here are so friendly. Should have tried Heidi’s across the Street.

The cinnamon rolls and frosting was unexpectedly light and airy, not as sweet as others.

The service here was wonderful and they did the best job on the cake with very little description on my part. Everything turned out so beautifully, and they were so pleasant to work with that I would recommend this bakery to anyone. Thanks to Unilocal,I really did find the best bakery in South Lake Tahoe. This is exactly the kind of place you are always hoping to find it but really do!

Such a quaint little bakery! I stopped in during my solo vacation to find out if they could bake a special birthday cake for me. I wanted a small cake, chocolate, raspberry buttercream filling, white buttercream frosting and the top covered in buttercream flowers. It was last minute and it was beautiful!!! I ordered the cake around 10 a.m. and picked it up at 3:30! The staff was very helpful, the cake LOOKED perfect! Unfortunately after cutting it this morning, I found the flowers were fondant and not buttercream as ordered. Totally ruined my dream birthday cake with that disgusting fondant! Taking a star away due to the failure to make the cake as ordered.

Loved my wedding cake! Cakes* both of them were so good! Thank you Sugar Pine! I guess I never wrote my review! So when a fellow Unilocaler asked me what bakery I used I only have great things to say about this bakery. It’s a one year old review but here goes let’s start from the beginning. Got the referral of this bakery from a local vendor — it was either a worker from my rehearsal dinner place, tahoe Ridge winery, who I randomly asked about bakeries or the hippie store owner around the corner from sugar pine not exactly sure but sure was grateful for the recommendation.(Or did the sugar pine bakery worker refer me to tahoe ridge? Either way, thank you whoever referred who!) Scheduled our cake tasting for our destination wedding and was able to be accommodated the weekend of our venue tasting. The bakery is hidden behind the building, the place is quaint but we had fun with not such high hopes,(because of some Unilocaler’s plastic fork comment) though the aroma was winning us over pretty easily. A high schooler looking employee told us hang tight and served us coffee :) The mini cakes were delicious!!! I never thought I would get a Boston crème pie cake for my wedding cake but it was the first bite i tried and fell in love with it! All the little cake bites were perfect temperature we felt we couldn’t go wrong they all tasted so good! In the end we were on a budget and chose a homestyle decorated 2 layered cake which I topped with my wedding flowers(babies breath) and we also ordered a large sheet cake so all our guests could indulge. The sheet cake we chose was chocolate with a thin raspberry filling. It was SO good! Even though the Boston crème pie made a bigger first impression and made me really excited to tell people as my wedding details were slowly but surely getting completed I remember the chocolate cake stealing the show on wedding day.(Probably bc Boston crème pie needed to be served colder but it was out on the cake display for photos) Still, I wouldn’t change a thing! Everything was perfect! And even almost a yeaR later in reflection I’m so happy this vendor was part of our wedding celebration. The delivery was good and drama free –they accept cc(but I don’t think they take Amex without a bigger fee, double check that though) and the cake photographs were ever pretty!!! also, I did not know how to decorate my cake until weeks before the date and hours on Pinterest later, thanks to my friends, so don’t stress about that on cake tasting day! On cake tasting day I would hVe picked a pink or teal ribbon why? Idk! I needed time! And sugar pine was cool with that! Whew Feedback from guests were that they loved how both flavors tasted! And that’s who we ultimately wanted to impress :) Weddings are crazy but in the end it’s about a celebration, for the couple, yes… But it’s the guests: family and friends who really make the event so special. what a satisfying way to end a beautiful day w/a delicious dinner– a delicious dessert and many memories. Thank you again! I’ll visit again next time in town. Highly recommend for anyone’s special event! Enjoy!
