Nothing positive to say about this shop. Dropped in to grab a pair of sunglasses. The associate was too preoccupied on her cell phone to assist me. When I did finally ask for help, I purchase a pair of sunglasses. Only later did I find out that they marked their sunglasses up $ 20 above msrp.

I’ve never experienced anyone so rude as the woman at this sunglasses hut! My sunglasses had a screw loose so we stopped by the sunglass hut to see if they would help fix my sunglasses or had a repair kit I could buy. When I asked the woman running the store that day, she said that they don’t do that, nor did she have any kits to sell me and she wouldn’t be able to do it any time soon because she was backed up for about a year. A year?! Is she kidding me! I’ve had my sunglasses tightened several times at several different places and it takes all of 2 minutes. Clearly she did not want to help me, which was too bad because I was also going to look at buying new sunglasses. Even my husband, who is incredibly laid back, was blown away by the woman’s rudeness. We ended up walking down to the other sunglass place by the gondola and the woman there gladly helped me. I even offered to pay her and she didn’t take it. Hopefully she doesn’t treat all customers that way. Definitely made me feel differently about Sunglass Hut

If you want sunglasses, this is the place to get them. We live in Cameron Park, CA about 70 miles from South Lake Tahoe and we won’t buy our sunglasses anywhere else. It is always worth the drive up to Tahoe to get our glasses. Karen is an amazing person and manager and always makes us feel like we are rock stars. Every visit includes a cleaning of our glasses and any adjustments needed. She is a consummate professional at making the glasses fit correctly right from the start. The attention to detail, the friendly advice, super knowledgeable sales assistance and just an overall«best of the best» experience makes it all worth while. Whenever in Tahoe make it a point to visit this store. You will not be disappointed and you will get the very best service possible. Thanks Karen for all your great service and help. You rock! My boyfriend and I have an addiction. It’s called sunglasses. Who doesn’t love sunglasses? They make the outfit. They hide hangovers. They substitute for make-up. They hide the fact that you’re sleeping in public(park bench anyone?). Did you really think I was watching the birds or the childrens’ horrid attempts to imitate Beckham? No dude, I’m snoozing my arse off sitting up straight(the numerous ballet classes paid off, mom & dad) on the park bench while looking super chic! NO. BIG. DEAL. So obviously whenever we are in Tahoe, this Sunglass Hut outlet store is a must. I start itching when we get close. The store is my pimp, the contents my crack, and I’m a junkie that is in dire need of its next fix. Give me some glasses to try on!!! I’m particularly interested in everything Italian with an additional sale sticker on it! Give me the Versaces. Give me the Bulgaris. Dolce & Gabbana? Hell to the yeah! Throw some Fendis in while you’re at it, too. The sales staff here is eager to please and will adjust anything to fit my unfortunate shaped nose and non-symmetrical ears. They don’t skimp on the compliments either, so I feel like a model that just stepped out of a Valentino ad by the time I’m done here. I don’t think I’ve left this location without at least 3 new pairs in my shopping bag that I’m clutching to my chest like it’s my most prized possession. Well, it kind of is. Extensive car mirror staring ensues for the next several days while sporting my new specs. The prices here are out of this world, so is the selection. The Tahoe crowd’s closed mindedness when it comes to sunglasses(ray ban much?) is fine with me. Means I get to do more shady business with the Italian accessories mafia. When we get home we have 5 pairs of new glasses to add to our collection. That means clearing one more shelf full of books from the living room bookcase so we can display our goodies. Who needs books anyway when they can have sunglasses? Duh.

The wifey and I both treated ourselves to some new glasses recently for our birthdays, and had great experiences here. We got good deals on some amazing lenses, but you can get that at any chain store, so that’s not what I’m writing about… this review is for the customer service. The manager(can’t remember her name) was ONIT. Super knowledgeable, friendly, and quite the saleswoman. She steered us in the right direction, and also gave great follow-up service… she adjusted my wife’s glasses like a week later, and she allowed me to exchange my lenses for slightly different ones. We highly recommend this store… the only way they could make it better is if they sold ski goggles too…
