Whiskey Dick’s is my favorite dive bar in South Lake Tahoe. It’s got all I need from a dive: relaxed vibe, cheap strong drinks, bar games(pool, shuffleboard and I think darts?) and great music. There’s usually live music when I go on the weekends– seems like they get a lot of punk, rockabilly, metal, etc bands, which is fine by me! The staff are pretty nice, too. Last time we were there we chatted up the huge blond bouncer who was a super nice guy and– because it;s a small world– turned out to be the father of the waitress who just served us at Himmel Haus. Haha! When in need of a cheap strong booze and a chill atmosphere, Whiskey Dick’s is the place to go!

Came to Whiskey Dicks for an afternoon of pool during the week. Spent 3 hours here, played pool, drank beer and Captain and Cokes, and ate wings(Dominos delivers). Had a great time! Laid back, relaxed atmosphere. Will return.

#170 Super fun place to relax, make new friends, shoot pool, watch MNF and grab drinks. We had just finished a small dinner after a long day at Sierra and wanted to catch the end of the game and throw back a few adult beverages. One of my companions pointed out Whiskey DIck’s as we were stopped at the light. I was like, it is small and cute, I see a TV, let’s do it! We parked right out front and walked in to a decently crowded tiny atmosphere. The bartender yelled out to us from across the bar welcoming us, telling us she would be right with us. We grabbed some stools in front of one of the TV’s and our super peppy lady bartender came and fixed our drinks. The music was perfect for the type of bar we had strolled into for the game. Some late 80’s early 90’s punk rock – I asked the male bartender why they were not playing some Motor Head to honor Lemmy’s departure that afternoon. Seemed like it would have been the perfect fit for the evening. Two of us decided to shoot pool. Now, I had no idea he would be as good as he was – final score 2 – 1(him). Boo ;( Anyway, the tables were great, no wobbles, no warped pool sticks, no missing or stuck balls. Just great pool. I appreciate well kept pool tables. I love pool, even when I lose – which is not often! lol Back to the bar for more drinks. MNF was getting to a close, the Broncos pulled out a crazy move in OT without Manning for the win and we were all having so much fun. Whiskey Dick’s is an ultra cool bar. The bartenders were both awesome, friendly, helpful. The drinks were stiff and delicious. The music was good and so was the crowd. Whiskey Dick’s is a place I will frequent on my Tahoe trips. Stephani Smiles for Whiskey Dick’s ;)

If you expect anything but a Dive Bar experience you are at the wrong place. So much fun. Music is loud, pool tables, shuffle board and a rowdy Unilocal crew in attendance. This was the first event my great friend Terry K and I got to attend as we flew into Sacramento and fearless woman that she is, Terry drove in the dark, thru the mountains to stop here before we even checked in to our hotel. Admittedly, I needed a drink after that drive as I’m a sissy girl but once here, at Whiskey Dick’s, the fun began. Met so many great Unilocalers at this UYE set up by the distingushed Michelangelo which was the second event of the night. Finally met the witty Unilocaler, also from Hawaii, John F(Yeah) and after a couple of beers did a Fireball shot with him to end the party. So many beer choices, a slew of top shelf choices and the owner tending bar making sure everyone was having a good time. Great event Michelangelo, well planned and a fabulous way to start meeting the outstanding Unilocalers from Reno and Sacramento… and elsewhere. Memorable is the best word to describe this event!

Where Should We Host A Whiskey Party? Well, «Whiskey Dicks»! Where Else?!? SITREP My hats off to owner Jan, her grandson-manager Rob, and their buddy bar-manager Kathy! Their venue Whiskey Dick’s was the host for my first Unofficial Unilocal Event(UYE) during this awesome Unilocal’s Lake Tahoe Getaway(YTG) 2015 in South Lake Tahoe, and there could not have been a more fun place for us to be on Thursday night in South Lake Tahoe! THESETUP Whiskey Dicks is the kind of low-key, chill spot where you can just come in, grab a drink, shoot a game of pool, *swish* a game of shuffleboard, blast some tracks from Metallica(or the Carpenters, for that matter!) and enjoy your whiskey shots & pints of Guinness! DRINKS Speaking of drinks, manager Rob was serving an excellent variety of beers, ciders, and creating awesome mixed drinks for us to enjoy that we all shared in a group tasting. The drinks were all reasonably priced and I just could not stop my craving for their various varietals of hard cider!(Oh YUM!) And it was fun watching the locals play some sets of ping pong AND beer pong!(Ping Pong balls were in high demand this night!) :D THELOWDOWN Kudos to the whole team at Whiskey Dicks for hosting my party during YTG2015, and I thank them kindly for their hospitality to our group!

Went for a concert, couldn’t even get in. I never got my ticket & was told by ticket web show your ID, card you paid with & receipt. The ticket takers at the door were very rude & said I could have sold it so I cant get in. This all happened after waiting in line for 30 minutes too. Never again !

We had to visit Whiskey Dicks after hearing the legend of the Emerald Bay Hermit. Live music and great Bloody Mary’s! Excellent selection of beers and close to everything in South Lake Tahoe! Get a very cool T-shirt, too! And don’t worry, their drinks are stiff!

Great spot! Lots of different shows from hip hop to metal, reggae, and even dub step/emr they have them all! The bartenders are so fast so even on awesome show nights they make sure ur not just standing waiting for your next round. The security are also very nice they really keep it cool and the sound system rocks! This place is sometimes very relaxed when there isn’t a popular show so a great spot to shot some pool and grab a beer… If u can choose one! The beer selection is massive probably one of the best in town

This place is as sleezy as it gets. I have no idea how it has 4 stars? I wouldn’t ever patronize this place OR recommend it to anyone. Disgusting bar…

Love this dive bar! Each time we are in the area, we swing by for a drink and a shirt. The bartenders are nice, serve great drinks, and the atmosphere is comfortable for a small bar. The patio is nice, however it would be great if they served food.(Tip: there are a few restaurants next door in the strip mall if you are hungry.)

My home away from home. This bar is a pretty close knit family. It’s got style, a group of all kinds of patrons and good drinks. They’ve got live music on most occasions as well. Don’t be intimidated by the locals, they’re all pretty much softies at heart. Real cool bar for the daring type.

We came to Whiskey Dick’s at random, and came out nicely buzzed and huge fans of the place. All you have to remember to say is «Eric, we trust you» and he will mix you the best drink you’ve ever had. While our group was waiting to get sushi next door, we decided to pop in here for a few drinks since we had a while to wait. My friend and I both ordered Moscow Mules to start the night off, and they came out to less than $ 10 for the both of them — Eric, you have my attention! Next, we had no idea what else we wanted to get, and that’s when Eric showed us how good of a mixologist he could be. We told him we were looking for a shot that was fruity and girly, and he made up a mango flavored concoction for us that even that guys in the group enjoyed. He didn’t even have a name for the drink since he created it on the spot. Afterwards, we were ready for another, and once again Eric surprised us with Something Good. Literally, the shot is called Something Good, and it was darn good. I’m so glad we stumbled upon this dive bar, because not we have a go-to place whenever we are in town.

Great spot for a Sunday night. It was just my cousin, her boyfriend and myself and there were about four other patrons there. Kirby was our bartender and I asked if there were any specials. He says it was Quentin Tarantino Sundays because they were watching one of his movies on of their many TVs. They had $ 1 off wells and a draft discount but I gave him the option to make me something he thought I would like. I like giving the bartenders on a slow night the opportunity to be creative. He made me a fruity drink that was not very sweet and very tall, plus he gave me the extra liquid in the tumbler when my glass had room. I’ll take it. They have live bands on a raised stage, a pool table, shuffleboard and the electronic juke box. There are funny drinking signs all over the place, pictures of pinups on the bar top and unique bottles of liquors like a basil vodka, «Coldcock» and brands I’ve never heard before. I must be out of it. We had a great time. We even purchased their tank tops that said«At least our drinks are stiff.» Awesome. I’m so wearing that to the gym. We left Whiskey Dick’s and headed to the Lucky Beaver. It was a dirty kind of Sunday night for us and we had a blast.

I was in SLT for business and had an appointment really close to Whiskey Dick’s. I stopped in solely because I thought the name was hilarious. The atmosphere was cool and friendly, even at 5pm on a Wednesday. Next time I am in the area, I’ll come back a little later when there is more of a crowd.

Came here on a Sunday nigh with friends and left with a whiskey dick… not! But I did leave with more than great buzz and a crying friend in arm, granted she sprained her ankle then left her phone near a highway(?). What a night. So lovely. Double props for a kind Samaritan who was kind enough to return her phone(a nice Galaxy at that!) to Whiskey Dick’s who will mail it over to her. Humanity exists. Thanks whiskey dick. This bar will help you cross the line from buzzed to shit show. Here is how. $ 6.50 Alice in Wonderland– This drink speaks for itself. You will become Alice wondering how a drink with a plethora of types of alcohol(including Bicardi 151) could taste so good. True it gets a little more toxic as you near the bottom, but it does it job good. $ 5 Red Bull Vodka– 70% vodka 30% red bull… they don’t skimp out on their alcohol. Mind you, they don’t come in little tiny cups. These are probably 12 oz or 16 oz cups! Now that I think about it, my hangover in the morning makes a lot of sense… the barista was super friendly and talked about how only a few baristas knew the technique of making the elusive Alice in Wonderland. So awesome. AMF no mo’! Everyone should be trying to discovery Whiskey Dick’s secret. Sure, it’s a dive bar. It says so right there. But don’t judge a bar by it’s cover. Sure, I’m sure the slightly older patron by the bar rolled their eyes at the group of rowdy, immature, and loud group of almost college graduates. Great thing is no one cared, placated by alcohol! Yes, the bathroom need a little fixing and I never found out if there was a separate bathroom for girls… the graffiti is kinda cool though. Urinal, not so much… Have a vague foggy memory of seein
