We always enjoy our visits to the Lyon Grill. It’s a locally owned business and the employees are great. We are greeted with smiles upon walking in and the wait staff is so friendly. The food is delicious. The filet bites, the Mike’s Chicken Club and the fish and chips are some of the favorites in our house. They have a great kids menu as well. We love the atmosphere of the restaurant. We always leave with a smile on our face. I highly recommend giving this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I think the exterior of this restaurant is misleading because once you step inside, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff is friendly and efficient. We have tried a few of the chicken dishes, the sliders and some of the salads. We have never been disappointed! We are becoming regulars here!

The Lyon Grill never disappoints and my carry out meal with homemade dessert was just as fresh and delicious as if we were at the restaurant eating. Lyon Grill has a nice relaxing atmosphere and the portions are very generous. The owners take pride in making sure you leave 100% satisfied. I had the Rattlesnake pasta with chicken and fresh bell peppers, the spicy pasta dish is perfect for me, I don’t like a lot of spicy foods but this dish is the perfect combination of spices with the peppers and not too spicy which is exactly what I look for in a spicy dish when I try them. The homemade cheesecake with fresh berries melted in my mouth, whenever the owner makes a dessert it is outstanding! My favorite is when the owner makes bread pudding but after this cheesecake tonight I have another favorite. If your looking for a place to eat lunch or dinner that serves high quality food along with service this is the place for you. I feel the food is worth the price, anywhere you go to eat a good meal it’s in this price range, it’s not a Coney Island so don’t expect the prices to reflect that, it is a nicer dinning experience.

Whenever my wife and I have gone to the Lyon Grille alone or with our two kids we’ve had a pleasant experience. The food and service have always been good. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a nice place to dine in the South Lyon area.

Uhh, am I the only one who is bothered by the framed picture of Jesus by the cash register?!? In a place that markets itself as a quality restaurant? Our server said«God bless». To me, that’s absolutely inappropriate for a «fine» dining experience ! Also, totally overpriced. Loud. Food was crap. And took forever. South Lyon has the worst selection of restaurants!

Was very busy but worth the 15 minute wait. Food was good & service was great in spite of how busy it was. Citrus chicken pasta is great. Friendly and attentive. Would definitely return.

Underwhelmed. The food is unremarkable and, in my opinion, overpriced. I wanted to like this place, our waitress was good and the interior is casual and contemporary. However, we left feeling so-so and not compelled to return and try again.

The best restaurant in South Lyon. I’ve never had a bad meal here. The salmon is great and the portions are just right.

If you’re in South Lyon and you need a nicer place that’s a step above a coney island or the border cantina, this is your restaurant. The service was decent and the food was quite good, but unfortunately the prices are pretty high. We ended up paying somewhere around $ 50 for the two of us to have pasta and pop. The building also has a very tall ceiling which makes it very loud inside. Not the intimate atmosphere that you would hope for at a place with steak, seafood and $ 18 pasta. Still, there isn’t anything like this in town, so it serves a purpose.

This is not the place to go if you are looking for FRESH, HIGH-QUALITY food. Local crap is still crap(I don’t care for that word, but it is the most fitting). And it’s super $$$ for crap. I have to say, it takes a lot for me to write a negative review, as I like to give grace where grace is due. That said, our experience at this restaurant left me feeling incredibly deceived. Maybe it was the fact I went in with great expectations; we were in the area having one of our children assessed at a local therapy center, and a native to the area had recommended it as a place we check out for FRESH, HIGH-QUALITY food options(I have it in mind to ask what they were thinking!!). I think it also had to do with the atmosphere that you walk into, as it does appear to be a nicer ambience than some establishments, at first glance. Our experience however, left me disappointed to say the least. It’s loud and cramped– our waitress and the one at the table directly accross from us had to swap space because they could not both fit in the aisle together comfortably. And the food, where do I begin? Well, how about price. It’s EXPENSIVE — and I am not one give to sticker shock much. I know quality comes with a price tag. For what you get it is so pricey I about spit out the ice I had in my mouth as I began to look over the menu. We had our 5 children with us(who were VERY hungry), who all ordered off the children’s menu. My husband had a sandwhich and I ordered the nachos from the appetizer menu — $ 70!!! Of course that is including tip — we will not fault the waitstaff for such a poor establishment, and my husband having been a waiter himself, will not tip less than 20% unless the service is VERY poor. Still, $ 70 for our meal was ridiculous. We don’t dine out much at all, but we do know quality, and we for sure know REAL when it comes to food. I’m not even sure the«chili» on my nachos was meat — the chips were greasy and definitely not fresh. The toppings were minimal; really it was just terribly unappetizing. My children were unimpressed as well, two ordered fish and chips, two ordered sliders, and another had the chicken tenders. Very bar like, highly processed, and definitely not fresh. When the waitress came over to take care of our check she asked us if everything was good, and my husband said«Yes, thank you.» As she walked away he looked at me and said«Did I just lie for you?» The look on my face was reassurance enough. I shoot it straight, this is no bull. If you are into greasy, highly processed, comfort food and are willing to pay way more than it’s worth for a little more upscale«looking» ambiance, then you’ll pry fare well. But if you care about quality, and fresh, real food — steer VERY clear of this place. Don’t make the $ 70 mistake we did!!!

First off, the food here is great, have never had a bad bite yet. But, today once again we were reminded why don’t eat her more often. Called in takeout order, told 15 minutes for 3 simple appetizers. Arrive 20 minutes later only to watch the manager enter in my order that she forgot to enter when we called. And what was that extra 1.50 entered into the computer before the bill was printed? Stood right there and watched her bring up my order, enter the food items than add an addition 1.50, wtf? Automatic gratuity for forgetting to enter my order? Seat rental fee for the privilege of waiting for my order? This place is expensive but damn. NOTE: My wife thinks this was the charge for the three sides of ranch dressing(shouldn’t that come with fried pickles that cost over 7 bucks an order?) 15 minutes after«actually» placing our order, out comes the food, right on queue. Still giving 3 stars for the great food but minus 100 for just plan laziness, good grief.

If you want to pay high-prices for stuff straight out of a bag, jar, carton or fryer than this is the place for you. The food quality is terrible for the price. Additionally, we asked for a high-chair 3x and then just gave up. We will never go back.

I’ve lived in South Lyon for a long time and seen a lot of restaurants come and go. I have been to this as well as every other restaurant in South Lyon many times. Lyon Grille consistantly serves top notch food and provides excellent service. It is by far the best restaurant in South Lyon.

This place is high-society with a small town feel. The land that this establishment sits was the Golden Platter for the longest time. It was a family restaurant that we used to refer to as the«Greasy Spoon.» I always loved that place because it was dirtier than a Big Boy but classier than a Ram’s Horn. So to eat at a place that built it’s walls from the ground up, I was über impressed. I was with a party of 5 today(insert Sallinger jokes here) and was very satisfied from the get go. We were with some VIPs of South Lyon and regulars of the restaurant, so I don’t know if that impacted the results at all. We started with the calimari and spinach/artichoke dip as appetizers. The calimari tasted fresh and the breading was very light… not too«packaged» tasting. The spinach/artichoke dip was rich and creamy, perfect for spooning on to tortilla chips. I ordered the fish and chips for lunch. Our meals came very quickly and everything was fresh and hot. I was very satisfied at how light and fluffy everything was. It’s definitely on the higher end of pricing, but if you’re looking to get away and stay close to home, this is the place to do it. Thank you for such a wonderful experience, Lyon Grille!

New in South Lyon and tried this place out because we wanted some casual steaks, nothing too fancy, for the night. Ordered the rib eye and new york strip steaks and they came out well seasoned, but a tad bit more overcooked than the medium-rare we had asked for. We also got their spinach and artichoke dip and upgraded to a loaded baked potato. Their dip was alright — it felt more like melted stringy cheese with spinach folded in so every scoop we had was stringy and a bit difficult to get a right portion of it onto our chips. I was expecting more of a dip feel, smooth and what not, but taste-wise it was ok. The loaded baked potato was a little on the dry side from being overcooked so I didnt care for it. Interior is nice and pretty intimate. It was actually a little smaller than what I was expecting, but it was still a good experience.

Eh ! Only ate once. Food tasted from the can. If you want typical american cantina, this is your joint. If you want to step it up go to burrito king. Food is priced decent and portions are fair.

I’ve lived in Lyon township for 5 years now. The Lyon grill and Lake street tavern are my go-to restaurants. If I’m feeling like a burger and a beer, I’ll be at the Tavern. If I need something more complex then I’ll be at the Lyon Grill. I highly suggest the fish & chips, the spinach & feta pizza roll, steak bites, and the Old Country Pizza. The BBQ ribs and steaks are good and you can’t go wrong with one of their pizzas. I also recommend their lyon grill salad if you like bleu cheese. Lastly, They’ve got about 10 pasta dishes that I haven’t tried yet, I hear the rattlesnake pasta is pretty good. PS — If you want a steak medium, you typically have to order it medium rare.

While on a Saturday adventure, I stopped here for some lunch. It was a bit empty considering it was around 4pm, but had picked up quite a bit by the time we had left. The place looks like it may have been a Taco Bell in its past life, but it is very nice looking on the inside. We had the cheese bread for an appetizer, since we have a 1 year old with only 6 teeth. The cheese bread came out delicious! It was crispy and very cheesy. We were quite impressed, and then glad that we had ordered a pizza to split for dinner. We had ordered the Lyon special, which was smoked red peppers, garlic, chicken, and mozzarella. It was delish! I never would have expected to have such a great meal in a small place! If in the area, I’d definitely go there again!
