The Dog From Ipanema

Worst dog grooming EVER and the MOST expensive. Ruined my dog and I had to wait months for her hair to grow in properly. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone.

I used to love this place/​the owner but not after today. After shaving my short haired terrier mix down to the skin, and after my boyfriend who was picking up the dogs was visibly upset about the haircut, the owner went to say «we will write down that you were upset with the results for next time». WHAT NEXT TIME?! why would I ever come back after you shaved my dog down?! What groomer would ever think that this haircut is acceptable? She was left with hair on her head, legs, and tail, and the rest of her is shaved down.
I hate writing bad reviews but this is needed.
A refund or something to compensate for the fact that my dog now has to walk around looking like a fool for the next month. They had the audacity to charge us full price too. So so so so SOOO disappointed. This grooming place is supposed to be the best of the best… you should be using your best judgement.

I am amazed at the phenomenal experience that I’ve had here! The entire staff is kind, courteous, and professional.
The owners are both SO pleasant and helpful, and clearly dedicated to their puppies.
Not to mention all of the clothes, accessories, and food for your pet! They have everything!
Five-​star experience, hands down. If you’re looking for a puppy, especially any specific puppy like I was, choose this place. You won’t be disappointed!

All I have to say is that when I brought Mia home my wife absolutely loved her new look. The Dog from Ipanema made me a better husband. Great experience for the pet and owner!

A couple objective criticisms on behalf of a friend:
1. Haircut is uneven (i.e., around the ears, mouth and legs)
2. She requested no perfume and her dog came out smelling strongly of perfume
In my opinion, she paid $ 80 for the same cut I pay $ 40 for at Pet Smart.

I love the dog from ipanema! They do the best job at grooming my shih tzus and treat them with kindness and a gentle hand that any dog lover would appreciate. One of the best things they offer is the express wash so that you can get your doggies out quicker. Jarbas and his groomers are the best!!!

TDFI (The Dog from Ipanema) is awesome! The professionalism shown at this cool store is amazing! First off, the haircuts are wonderful. They offer a wide array of services all included in one price. Nail clippings, baths, scents, and haircuts are all available. Luna, our portuguese water dog loves coming in to their door! She wags her tail like she is ready to say Hi! Jarbas, the owner, is a VERY sweet and kind guy. He took the time to actually sit down with me and explain what the best type of cut Luna should get. Even triple checking her coat for any matting. He is quite the dog lover too. Annette Quick, one of the groomers there is exceptional. She is a super sweet and does an exceptional job with my little Luna. Top notch!. I certainly recommend her for haircuts. Though the cuts are a tad pricy, the value of the service is ALL there. The store, or boutique I should say, offers a wide variety of pet products all at your convenience, from dog food to dog toys to dog leashes to dog shampoos, THEY HAVE IT! Love them and will always go with TDFI!

We tried many groomer but Lilly always came out like a poodle and she is a Bichon. Someone recommended this place and now Iknow why. They transformed her. She is always happy to go there and happy at the end.

We tried TDFI once on a lark due to user reviews overlooking the prices and have been going back monthly ever since. The cliché «you get what you pay for» applies here, they are a first class operation in all areas and our fur baby is treated like a VIP. I like the personal attention also, when I call for an appointment and give my dog’s name they know exactly who it is and what he needs without me having to explain anything.

Dog from Ipanema is simply the best no matter what you need and what breed you have. Whether a simple bath or complicated breed haircut, you’ll be happy. From our late, great Komondorok to our current LhasaShitz mix, we’ve never been less than 100% satisfied. Highly recommend.

New to Miami, 10-​year old chocolate lab, Bailey, just loved her day at The Dog from Ipanema, a hot doggie spa tucked away near Sunset Place. She had a fabulous Friday with the Ipanema team and came home relaxed and refreshed wearing a lovely, colorful new accessory she picked up in the shop. So many stylish choices, she could hardly decide which one to wear home. The staff was amazing and super kind, they even ordered a special leash that was out of stock and carried her favorite cuisine, so she conveniently placed an order to go. What a day… she can’t wait to go back!

My Furry Babies get groomed here and ONLY here!!! They’re the best! So loving & sweet with the dogs! They always come out beautiful & pristine. They spoil the furry ones & treat them like their own. Jarvis, the owner, is wonderful & so is the entire staff. My furry Princesses & I absolutely LOVE this place!!! We highly recommend it! ;)

My Doxie walks into Ipanema like if it was Dog’s heaven on earth! I’ve never seen his tail wag so much for so long! Staff is so nice and loving with the pups — facility is clean and organized. Zig would probably love to stat there for a few days! You’d think I was a bad mom 8-​(. I’m not! He’s spoiled to death!

The Dog from Ipanema is not close to my house, but I drive all the way there to make sure that my Yorkie, Cookie, gets the best treatment possible. They always leave her looking beautiful and they treat the dogs great. Well worth the drive and money.

They are all so friendly and very knowledgeable about the products they carry. My Mattie Mae is always treated special. She is always happy when I pick her up, which is a very good sign.

They treat my feisty dog Leo like a K I N G! Also the staff are all friendly and knowledgeable, plus their boutique is fully stocked with everything a dog lover could ever need to care for & to spoil their petchild.
