You will definitely find me here again. I wasn’t aware that this location even existed until my girlfriend, who is an Ogden local, pointed it out to me. I was incredibly glad she did. I honestly can’t rave enough about this place. First of all, the service was fantastic. Despite the fact that it was super busy the morning we went, they were friendly, they were quick and they did their job very professionally for being a small diner. The food was amazing! Asia got the biscuits and gravy and my girlfriend got the French toast and we’re both got the sausage to go with it. Both meals were amazing, but whatever you get, get the sausage patty to go with it. I don’t know why but the sausage was fantastic. I will have it with whatever meal I order there from now on, even if I have to order it as a side order. Another thing I loved about it was the fact that it was really cheap. I love a place where I can go and get breakfast and not spend a whole lot of money, it makes the experience much better. Like I said, I can’t say enough about this place and I will be a regular here. New favorite breakfast spot in the Ogden area. GOTRYIT!

This is a down home diner place. No frills about the layout of the café. The breakfast selection however is a pretty wide range of options and the food is pretty good consider it being in a small town. Their pancakes were so fluffy and so good! Also their french toast looks plain but also tastes delicious! I guess don’t judge a book by the cover. The scone was good but the white sauce I thought was yogurt turned out to be sugar! too sugary a bit. Great place for breakfast overall!

I’ve read the reviews, booked marked the location, and been waiting for the right time to visit(without kids). We finally made it here on a late Saturday morning. I’m not a big fan of seat yourself but that is ok it is what they choose to do. We had to wait only about 10 minutes to pounce on an open table. Luckily there were no jerks and everyone waited their turn in line. I ordered a coffee and never got a refill, for a buck 80 that was expensive for a really small cup of joe. The coffee was not my favorite either — I’ll skip that next time. I went with boss’s breakfast. The bacon was cooked crispy, the hashbrown are made from cooked potatoes(not frozen) with sos poured on top, the scrambled eggs were good with a processed cheese slice on top(think of the individual kraft cheese slices), and the best part was the scone. All were really good, I mean if they could improve on anything don’t use the cheese slices, use some shredded cheddar cheese. I’d go back for the food and to explore the menu. My wife had Keri’s breakfast sandwich with ham and loved it. I could not finish my breakfast on my own so my wife helped with the big scone and the sos hashbrowns. I could tell the servers and kitchen staff were working really hard which is always a plus in my book. I thought checking our drinks could be better but everyone was working hard.

First timers, I’d say gravy had the most flavor & the eggs. Hash browns were a little plain. Overall it was 4 stars for us. Coffee was Good. always one thing that keeps us going back is customer service and the server was super friendly and fast! Our food came out in less then 10mins I wish I could remember her name. Thanks Criddles

I’m so glad I accidentally stumbled upon this place, because they have the best breakfast around! The scones are absolutely to die for. Portions are very generous, and the price is great! Will definitely be back on my next trip to Utah. :)

Love criddles — my wife and I usually split an omelet and sub the toast for a scone! Food is fresh, delicious and we both leave full for about $ 13 all in! Service is always great.

What a fantastic find! I’m not up in this neck of the woods often let alone in the morning. Criddle’s looks unimpressive from the outside but inside it’s clean and the staff are very friendly. Gives off a hometown café type of feel. The food is quick, simple and good. The gravy has decent flavor to it and like everything else there, homemade. Bacon is thick and cooked the way you like it. And as others have mentioned, the scone is huge. I just wish it came with honey. Also, they do a fair amount of take out orders.

Aloha Omlet, Apple Fritter. I had eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy along with a scone. $.79 extra for a tiny cup of honey? Trying to modify anything on the menu is pretty much a bust. If you want to change anything be ready to pay for it. Not sure if they charge extra for all condiments, but I wanted honey on the giant scone & it cost me 79 cents for what amounted to a tablespoon. Crazy if you ask me. I guess the bottom line is, the menu items aren’t many & only one came close to what I wanted. The scones are probably the best part of the meal. The Aloha Omlet was stuffed with filling that proved to have ham & cheese as well as pineapple in every bite. The eggs, were average. The biscuits & gravy were a bit bland. The sausage was an unflavored piece of meat. The Apple Fritter wasn’t crispy like it should have been. The taste was fine but a really good fritter has a crispy crust. The service was satisfactory. There are better places to eat & I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.

Literally the best service I have ever had. Bre was amazing! This is my first time at Criddle’s, so I don’t know if that’s how the whole team is or if it’s just her, but I am very impressed. At least two other servers came over and made sure my partner’s coffee was filled exactly right as well. The food was out in under five minutes. Our server Bre was extraordinarily helpful with suggestions as well. Now onto the food. My favorite breakfast place in the world is Sill’s Café in Layton, but this was honestly better. I got the Chicken Fried Steak with gravy, hash browns, and a scone. The gravy was probably my favorite! My partner got Biscuits and Gravy after the recommendation from Bre that they were«the best biscuits and gravy I’ve tried around here»(presumably she meant Ogden). My partner had to grudgingly agree. He’s a hard sell on most things, being a diehard Sill’s fan as well, but he said it was the best he’s had. I honestly couldn’t recommend this place more highly. Absolutely give it a try!

The menu clearly says«Additional charges may apply for substitutions». I tried to order the a breakfast meal but wanted hash browns instead of eggs(I was perfectly fine with paying an extra fee to get this changed). Instead, I was told that no substitutions were allowed. The waitress instead had me order all of the items a la carte, which turned my $ 8 breakfast into a $ 15 breakfast. If this restaurant doesn’t want to allow substitutions anymore, they need to update their menu. The food was pretty good. Good biscuits and gravy, bacon and scones. But paying an extra $ 3 for hash browns that weren’t even crisp and tasted like they came from the grocery store freezer aisle was kinda disappointing. Waitress was nice and personable, and obviously felt bad that the owners had decided on these policies. Altogether, Biscuits and gravy, bacon, and scones are good. Hash browns are not recommended. Make sure to get a meal otherwise you’ll end up spending $ 15 on breakfast for one person.

We picked the wrong day to give up flour(again)… Oh… Mer… Gurd… Those scones looked SO good. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait. Blue ordered an omelette, and I opted for a club sandwich minus bread and the fries. One full star is for our server, who was a sweetheart and indulged all of my million questions about the menu. The other star is for the French fries alone… So good… So crispy… And the perfect thickness. The last star is for the price, very reasonable. Maybe someday when I’m off the flour wagon again I will return for you scone… You will never know the day or the time… But I will be there…

I took my grandma and mother here for Valentine’s Day breakfast and I am so happy I did! The food was delicious. It’s a seat yourself, mom & pop environment. I would recommend the Emmy breakfast. The gravy over the hash browns is AMAZING. Totally going back! Oh, and the scones are to die for!

The only difference I could spot between Criddle’s and similar Diner’s, like; Granny Annie’s, or Sill’s was that Criddle’s had Oatmeal on their breakfast menu. Otherwise, it was the same, same, same. Run-down building, with matching interior(the booth we sat in had duct tape covering holes in the upholstery). Huge portions of artery-clogging food. And a less-than-quiet atmosphere. To their credit, our server was on top of her game. And our food arrived at the table, piping-hot and with lightning-fast speed. That part of the meal was impressive. The oatmeal was pretty good. It was topped with dried cranberries and apples. My kids shared an order of chicken strips, and had a(Utah-version) Scone. My husband had biscuits and gravy, and said it wasn’t the worst he’s ever had. He also ordered a Raspberry-fritter. We didn’t really know what to expect with the Raspberry Fritter? I assumed that it would be similar to a Rasberry Fritter donut. But at Criddle’s, it wasn’t. It was a(again, Utah Version– fry-bread) scone that was pumped full of, and drenched in a raspbery syrup. My husband didn’t like it, at all. I didn’t think it was too bad. So, would I go back? Probably not. There are better breakfast places in the area(Piccolino’s) that don’t leave me feeling like I need to go work out for hours-on-end to burn off the meal I just consumed.

Finally I found a place better than ihop(and more reasonably priced since ihop’s prices are going up). But this is a cute and well established family business. They specialize in breakfast and they sure deliver on their specialty. They serve lunch too, but I came in around noon and the place was full so it must be good. The place was busy, but I was impressed how quickly I was able to order and get my food considering how busy it was. And best of all the staff was very very very friendly. They joke around with you like you are family and I thought it was awesome! I’m certainly coming back just for that touch of charm alone. But last but not least the food was incredible. I just ordered the French toast and a scone but I left happy, it was more food than I expected and I thought the quality was simple; close to homemade, but like I said, better than ihop.

As far as momma papa diners places go this one is great! The food is delicious, portions are generous and the prices are great! I was sad when Doug and Emmy’s closed because I didn’t feel the other place in Layton was comparable to them. Now I have found my new favorite diner! PS the Polynesian food on Fridays is delicious!
