I f@&?ing hate this place. It isn’t up to par. Everything is flavorless and burned. For example I used to order French toast, only to discover that one side is burned and always turned toward the plate to hide it from me. It desperately needs to be renovated and needs new cooks.

My friends and I ate here on New Years Day. Maria was our waitress and she was wonderful, friendly and very welcoming! We will be back !!

Very ordinary diner with very bland food, lots of it previously frozen. Had to send a burger back because it tasted like liver. They use a frozen patty here and the burger goes downhill from there.
Another annoyance is charging extra to put a slice or two of tasteless, tennis-​ball type tomato on a sandwich. Why?

Small café with a family vibe. Went Saturday morning for breakfast. I wasn’t sure what to order the menu had good diner food options. I went with one waffle, scrambled eggs & bacon. I enjoyed my meal and would visit again. Service was good my server was tentative.

I felt like I was transported back 50 years ago in this diner. The menu has a wide variety of sandwiches and breakfast options. There are very small booths and an old fashion counter to sit at. I ordered the tuna melt and my friends ordered pancakes, a cheeseburger and a buffalo chicken wrap. Our meals (except the pancakes) came with a large portion of fries and small cole slaw. We all agreed that the food was as average as average gets. Nothing spectacular nor was it bad. An okay place if you are lazy and want plain food, however, don’t go out of your way to eat here.

Slow service, the table was not very clean. We had breakfast, she had a Spanish omelette and I had two eggs over easy beef sausage and homefries. The food was bland. Did I mention sloooooow service. Won’t be coming back, next time I will take my 24 dollars across the street to the waffle joint.

Nice little café diner right in town. I had a Swiss and bacon burger cooked very nicely with crinkle fries and my sister had the open faced turkey platter with mashed potatoes gravy green beans and salad. Everything was very good cooked to order and at the right temperature. also very reasonably priced on the inexpensive side if anything. great sized portions as well. Definitely a good spot anytime they serve breakfast all day long as well.

Not too impressed. Rather slow service and fair, average food. Had an omelette which was decent enough but service was quite slow. Agai, its fine deli food if thats what you’re into but if you want a full meal then I’d say look elsewhere.

Good basic diner food. Only been for breakfast. My table had a breakfast wrap, corned beef hash and an apple waffle. Very reasonable prices. Nothing particularly special, nothing particularly bad. Only complaint is that the booths are very tight and the one i was at you could feel the person at the next table whenever they moved. Good enough service.

Came here by chance. I was looking to get out of the rain and get a hot meal before formal event. Gave the buffalo chicken wrap a try and I really liked it, but it needed a little ranch. This place is what Jersey is known for. Small diners and friendly people.

I came here this past week for lunch with some friends and we loved this place! It’s a small diner, but still has plenty of tables. The service is very prompt and friendly and we had no issues. I had a turkey panini and it was absolutely massive and delicious. The fries with it were very fresh as well and crispy, which is a must. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food and I will definitely try to come back here again!

My first time here though I’ve passed by here countless times. I’m always happy to see varied diner menus and this place has that variety. I had the chicken cheddar panini and it was a bit of a wait but after it came to the table I knew it would be worth it and the taste further proved it. The chicken was nice and tender and the cheese melted and hot. The actual panini was nice and toasty. The bacon on the sandwich had a nice smoky flavor too. The prices are good too. I sat in the window booth and it is slightly smaller than other diners I’ve been to in the way of booth seats but I also didn’t go all the way into the resturant. It appeared clean and the waitresses were friendly, she came over as soon as I sat down. Theres a tv if you choose to sit more inside the resturant but the window booths allow you to see everything going on the street which gives a nice view. If all the food tastes anything like the sandwich I had then this places is fine by me.

The worst service ever! From the owner to the forgetful, ditzy (black-​haired w/​tattoos) waitress who was unprofessional (cursing, yelling, threatening movements)! She gave my friend and I dirty straws, the water tasted like toilet water, and the food literally made us throw up after eating it! It was my first and last time eating at this dump. Go to Blue Moon diner down the block or the pizzeria across the street. Utterly Disgusted.

good place for a quick bite

We finally found a strong breakfast spot in downtown South Orange on all accounts. After trying many other options nearby, most have failed, but this restaurant is a strong choice. The menu is pretty plentiful and the prices are great. But best of all, the portions are fantastic. The food comes out very quick and we had no complaints at all. I went with the gyro omelet and left feeling full and happy. As others have said the booths are a bit small (saw this create a problem for another customer) but aside from that, everything else is great for a basic breakfast spot.

I have gotten my food there so many times and i never ever had a problem. The food is great awesome prices. Maria is one of the best waitresses in the world the lady knows friendly.

Chris’s Texas Weiner Family Restaurant looks a lot better from the last time I visited. It looks cleaner and the service is good. I ordered a bacon and egg sandwich (in the evening) and the sandwich came out hot and delicious. It wasn’t busy either which is good. I don’t like waiting long for my food, especially if I’m really hungry.

Some of the friendliest waitresses I’ve met. Jenny and Maria are the sweetest.
I happened by this place one morning and have eaten there like 3 times a week since. Very good food. Small booths though. But the waitresses are so nice it’s like eating with family.
