Pathetic. I wish I could leave less than 1 star. I waited an hour for the wrong order to be delivered. They picked up 15 minutes later, were irate with me, then took over 2 hours to attempt a redelivery. When I decided at 1:45 to cancel, they got mad at me and tried to tell me it was my fault. I’ve never been so irritated. Deplorable service. Will. Never. Order. From. Here. Again.

Went here to get boneless buffalo chicken and I asked for blue cheese. The lady told me I had to pay .60 cents for it. I said you don’t give a complimentary blue cheese, I did buy buffalo chicken. Her answer: No. I told her that don’t make no sense. Fast food establishments at least give you 1 for free and you have to pay for extra. That’s the last time I go there. Because everytime I go here, they always have some bs with them. No good customer serve and just plain old sad. No more for me. Updated to when i got home: I got home and noticed that my fries that I order with gravy and Cheese, only had gravy on it. And I paid $ 2.99 plus .25 cents for the gravy and got no damn cheese. This place is really ridiculous!!!

Man this place went downhill. Used to be the king of wings and fast orders. Now there food is expensive and tasteless. I ordered for delivery at 10 pm, my food didn’t come until 12:30 am. I asked for a discount, the manager said I can get 5 $ off on my next order. There won’t be a next order. I should have gotten that food free. 2 and a half hours is ludicrous to wait. They said their printers broke so they couldn’t really make the orders. I used to deliver. Our machines broke one time, yet we were still cranking out great service and food and not making customers wait 2 hours for food. Stay away from this place. Much better options in the area.

DONOTEATHERE! I love Cluck-U boneless wings but NOTHERE. They overcharge you and will not change it, no manager to speak to when there is a problem, and it is grimy. This is even when the price on THEIRWALL is different than what you are being charged! There is a huge wall up shielding the kitchen, and that also makes me wonder. There is no place to stand to pick up your food, you have to push past people crowded in to the«space» in front of the register. So many negatives, why go there when there are a lot of better similar choices nearby? I also complained on their website but never received a response. If you need a Cluck-U fix, go to the Morristown one –cleaner and you can see the kitchen.

Called in an order for pickup and didn’t receive my additional sauce and blue cheese. Drove back 20 minutes and was given blue cheese and one sauce, even though I had two different sauces clearly on my receipt. They proceeded to tell me that they accommodated me… If I repeated that I needed extra sauce and blue cheese but you forgot, how is giving me partially what I ordered, after I drove 20 minutes, an accommodation. I’m at a lose.

Has to be top ten worst experiences regarding customer service. First, I called at 12:40 am to place an order since they close at 2 am on Saturday mornings(according to the website). The lovely contest person Costa(name on the receipt) says they’re closing in 30 minutes so they only accepted walk ins, which I can understand. I just left the place with my order at 1:22 am, which is much later than 30 minutes. Her hospitality must have come from wolves. She was terribly cold, especially towards someone spending $ 50. I also bought a bottle of bbq sauce that was $ 4.99 on the menu but the price I had to pay was$ 5. No thank you for the order out when she gave it to me. I asked her where the bottle was, as in the bbq sauce. She said what bottle. I had to reminder her. She gives me three bottle with no bag. I ask for a bag. Instead off taking the bottle back to put it in the bag herself, she gives me the bag to do it. I will never come back to this place. The absolute worst customer service experience I’ve had in a long time. I may just call in the morning to talk to her boss.

The quality of this place has definitely gone down the drain. The food is so flavorless now. I was in there waiting for my food and all you hear is the cooks cursing like a sailor. While waiting for my food a young guy comes in an ask if they were hiring. 5 he cashier looks at him and then say no. There was a huge sign on the window that said otherwise. Smh. Then after finally getting my food I checked inside and they gave me the wrong item. I ordered a chicken empanada and they gave me beef. I don’t eat beef at all. So I went back in the store and told then the cashier with an unapologetic look on her face just looked back with a smirk and told the cook that was suppose to be chicken and you made beef. Then they just said ok we will make another one. So I had to sit and wait for them to make my order over no apology or anything. Finally I get my order and it is disgusting. The empanada is burnt and dry. Never again now I remember why I stopped going there in the first place.

These guys SUCK. I have been a fan since 1981 at Rutgers New Brunswick, but they never have any menu items… particularly ribs and are kind of nasty about it. Every time we order something it is always unavailable. Ribs, chicken, desserts etc etc. Hello? Take it off your menu and stop being jerks about it. We think the food is good and we like it, but are exhausted about the tireless calling. And the people who answer your phone are nasty jerks and put us on hold for over 5 minutes. Teach them manners. Remember when you started… it was once about CUSTOMERSERVICE.

I’ve come here for years and the biggest issue I have is higher prices for less. I remember being able to get boneless/regular wings, and them being dripping with sauce for around a dollar per wing and the sides being cheaper. These days though the prices are higher and its like they give the chicken one dab of sauce. I remember being charged extra once when I asked for extra sauce, but I think they’ve stopped that, you’ll still have to ask though. The food is decent enough, its the variety of sauces that keep me coming back. There are 10+ sauces to choose from and most of them are pretty good. This is strictly a take out Cluck-u, though eat in ones do exist. When you place an order maybe 2 or 3 people can fit in here. The counter people are usually pretty friendly and never had a big problem with delivery although I recommend just picking up, its way faster. So the sauces. Are the highlight here, but there are definitely cheaper alternatives if you want chicken.

If I was writing this review about 15 years ago, I’d easily and gladly give 5 stars. But that’s not sadly not the case today. The taste and quality of the wings have gone down tremendously. I remember many years ago this place was so popular and the chicken wings were a nice size and the sauce all over it was finger-licking good. Now the prices are ridiculously hyped up and the wings are bland and small. High disappointing!

Their fried chicken is not something I would try again. It lacked flavor and the fried chicken texture you would except. The biscuit or whatever it is they give you along with it tastes like you’re biting into oil. If you want proper fried chicken try elsewhere.

I’ve always enjoyed Cluck U. It’s an ideal place to visit for a quick meal in South Orange. I’ve had quite a few orders delivered incorrectly over the years, but nothing bad enough to make me avoid this location. However, I called the South Orange Cluck U on December 17th to place a delivery order for my elderly father. The employee who answered the phone was incredibly rude — so rude that I told him«never mind» and decided not to place the order. I told the employee I wanted to place an order for delivery. His response was, «Yeah?» I started to tell him what I wanted and he barked(actually yelled), «WAIT! WAIT! WAIT» He sighed and continued angrily, «Your phone number first.» I understand this is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant that caters mostly to college students, so I don’t expect world class customer service or even to speak with an employee who is remotely interested in their job. But no one deserves to be yelled at while patronizing a business.

If I could take off more points I would. I love the flavor of cluck u chicken but this place is horrible. It took over an hour and a half to get my order out(and it never came) after talking to the manager(who is the meanest restaurant worker ever) he told me that it would be delivered but I owed him more than the website said, and I obviously already paid for. I told him, respectfully no, and he told me off using words too profane to mention here, and hung up. I would definitely warn anyone trying to order from here from the customer service alone.

They make ok chicken. Their wings are the best thing on their menu by far. I’m kind of obsessed with their sugar clicker bees… I don’t personally think they were well when served without sugar… savory just isn’t the way you should enjoy them. Definitely go for wings, fries and sugar bees!

GF talked a lot about this chain back when we were living in San Francisco, so I was excited to try it. We’re both BIG on hot and spicy anything, so again, I was excited to try it. GF says their menu has expanded quite a bit to offer other options. I just wanted to try the wings. The spiciest sauce is their«911» and you have to sign a waiver for it. I decided to try the sauce just one notch under their spiciest, «Thermo Nuclear BBQ.» It was sloppy wet, but I think some folks like that. Not me. I thought the sauce was pretty good, but not as spicy as I expected. On a scale of 1 – 10 on the hot meter, I’d give it a 6. «911» next time… hope it doesn’t disappoint.
