Good wedges, chicken ok except for a few feathers not off chicken, need a little better quality control, better than KFC but Pope yes may be better.

Hey, pretty decent fried chicken at a incredibly cheap price. Although the meat isn’t as seasoned to my liking, the red hot sauce made up for it and helped by adding that vinegary spice it needed. Very crisp chicken.

wow i rarely bother to write a review if food is bad i let it go but i felt an obligation to warn others as i ordered from here based on a clearly misguided review. i got the 2 piece meal with mac and cheese and a banana pudding. My meal came with one breast one drumstick a roll and the sides. The breast was a little dry the skin was great but some of the meat tasted odd. The drumstick tasted amazing i wish i had a bucket of them this is why its a 2 and not 1 star. The mac and cheese tasted worse than a box of kraft and like it had been made4 with vegetable oil. It is not edible to my palette and i urge you do NOT ever get it it is disgusting idk how they can serve it and not be ashamed of themselves. The banana pudding was just ok… I will only ever go there if I’m desperate and a order only the drumsticks. waste of time money imo.

1.5 extra stars because they’re available on GrubHub. We like to order the hot wings, then dip them in Frank’s Red Hot Sauce(or the hot sauce they always send) followed by bleu cheese dressing. They’re the perfect texture and flavor(if not a bit too fatty). I ordered their chicken sandwich last night, which was on a nice sesame seed bun with green leaf lettuce and tomato, but had what is basically a large chicken nugget shaped into a chicken patty. It was really tasty, but I’d be willing to pay an extra $ 2 – 3 for a high-quality chicken patty. For $ 3.50, though, I was very satisfied.

I had high hopes when reading other reviews on this place. I ordered delivery because I am sick with vertigo. Not only did the order take an hour and a half to get here, the delivery guy refused to get out of his car and come into the building. My door man had to wave him in and even asked him why he didn’t deliver to the door. When I finally got a chance to eat my food, it was cold and needed to be reheated.(You all know reheating fried food will never be the same as when it’s made fresh.) Maybe this place is better if you order take out, but I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for delivery.

Decent fried chicken at a good price. Skin is thin and crispy, not heavily breaded in contrast to KFC. The meat was good quality, although on the less flavorful side. The sides were nothing to write home about — average and a little bland, especially the mac and cheese. If KFC is 3-stars, then this is a step above, but doesn’t stand significantly above the back. Very quick service. A hole in a wall so I would recommend takeout especially because only metered parking is available, although it’s free in the evening and on Sundays.

As a native Southerner living in Northern NJ, I have to say that, to my surprise, this is some of the best fried chicken in the area. That said, I haven’t tried the locally famous South Orange Pathmark fried chicken yet — I’m not a fan of that store, but I’m willing to make a special trip for that. The chicken at New York Fried Chicken is super cheap and very tasty. The crust is crispy, just the way I like it. The banana pudding is excellent, though once in a while, you get one with too much ‘nilla wafer and not enough pudding, creating a sawdust sensation. But the banana pudding only costs, like $ 1.60, so it’s hard to complain. The only problem I had is that I still don’t quite understand the difference between a «center breast» and a «breast,» and the very nice man behind the counter couldn’t quite explain it to me either(there’s a ten cent difference).

I was introduced to this NYFC branch by a family member after arriving from California. While it’s not the greatest chicken you will find, it’s pretty darn good to fill a craving or if you’re looking for a cheap box of chicken. Fried Chicken: The chicken here is pretty consistent: Slightly crispy, salty, greasy, but tasty. You could buy just the wings or a mixed box of chicken with rolls and your choice of sides. You’re lucky if you happen to walk in with a fresh batch on the heating rack. If not, you get what’s on the tray; the same applies to the potato wedges. The rolls that come with the chicken are soft and come with all orders for chicken. If you want chicken with a side, you could order as little as 2 pieces of chicken with 1 roll and 1 side or as much as 30 pieces with 10 rolls and 5 sides. If you just want chicken only, it’s the same thing but with no sides; you can order up to 150 pieces if you’re ordering just the chicken. Philly Cheesesteak Combo(w/everything)($ 6.99): It’s good. Not the best, but certainly not the worst either. If you order it «with everything» on it, then it comes with chopped bell peppers, onions, lettuce, and tomatoes. Personally, I don’t like the tomatoes on the sandwich since it makes the bread a bit watery and soggy, but you could still taste the beef. It’s a decent sized sandwich for a filling lunch. Beef Gyro: I’m a litlte disappointed with the gyro. While the gyro itself is pretty big, it’s stuffed mostly with vegetables. If I counted it right, I only saw four thin medium length slices of beef in the entire sandwich; the rest was slices of onions, lettuce, and chunks of tomatoes. Perhaps if more sauce was added, I might have enjoyed this a wee bit more. It also comes with fries. Macaroni and Cheese: Get a few sachets of salt, because it’s pretty bland; plenty of noodles and cheese, but this was pretty flavorless without any salt. The place itself is on a corner, so you can either park at the metered parking in front of the establishment or a few yards away on the street or the validated parking lot around the corner. There are a few tables and window seats inside, but I usually get my food to-go.

The fried chicken is quite good. So are the potato wedges. Their sandwich and other items are OK. Nothing special, but not bad by any means. The guys behind the counter couldn’t be nicer, and everything is very, very reasonably priced.
