The trees are the best part. It is a beautiful place. Sitting outside under the trees is lovely even on a hot day. I do not drink coffee so cannot respond to that issue. I do, however, enjoy the iced tea. People have always been friendly to me. I have learned to get used to the lack of bathroom on site, That is a city issue not a Kaldi issue.

I liked this place before they switched owners a few years back. It used to be the local hangout place, but the atmosphere is no longer the same since the switch. And their bakery items have downgraded. It appears as if they have changed buyers because their baked goods taste suspiciously similar to Costco baked goods. They do have Wi-Fi for customers. Probably won’t come back here though… there’s great coffee, baked goods, and service just a few blocks from at Heirloom Bakery.

Decent coffee shop as long as you don’t need a bathroom. They send people to the Public Library which frankly isn’t right. Be prepared to toast your own bagel. On the plus side, the people who work here are very nice.

3 stars because no public bathroom. This is a issue for me! I won’t be back for this reason. I had to pack up all my stuff to walk to the library? Super lame

No bathroom for customers and a $ 5 credit card minimum. Drip coffee is dispensed from thermoses on the counter and it was nothing spectacular. It was moderately quiet, but you’d be better off at the library across the street. At least they have bathrooms!

What a sorry excuse for a coffee bar, back in 2012 before Cindy Ginter sold this place to a Korean family it actually represented a decent coffee house. Since the change in ownership it has been on downward spiral. The service here is hardly worth a quarter of a star. Rather it is considered a laughing joke in the small community of South Pasadena. They have no customer service and have no backbone. .they refuse to enforce the no smoking rule, and welcome back the most unruly and disrespectful customers. On top of that over The Last 3 years i haven’t had one decent cup of coffee, not because the quality of bean but rather the quality of baristas. .or lack there of. .nobody that works there has any sense of urgency Or customer service. They can’t be bothered to brew fresh pot of coffee which is the easiest of tasks. If you want good coffee or quality tea or quality customer service go to Busters it’s right around the corner and I assure you won’t be disappointed. But if you go to kaldis you will surely be disappointed.

The drink tasted good, but know that they use Ghirardelli syrups as flavoring. The cookie was SUPERDUPER sweet and not anything to rave about — could have bought at Starbucks. The atmosphere was chill and great to read and write in, and the employees were nice, but I don’t think I’d go out of my way to come again. Fine for a morning commute coffee though!

My first time here and tried their summer special Mint Iced Coffee! As a lover of coffee and mojito, what a great combination!!! Soooo yummy! I wished that they had a bit of more selection for baked goods to nibble on.

Discovered this spot not too long ago, glad I did. Super cute location, pretty brick building next to a nice park to lay in. They have a parking lot on the side and plenty of free parking all around. Haven’t had any of their food options but I’ve had my fair share of drinks. Large tea selection, big fan of their coffee drinks, all for a reasonable price. I’ll definitely keep coming back!

Another cute little coffee shop in South Pasadena. This one is situated on a quiet corner across from the library. They have outdoor seating, so when walking the dog, I like to make a pit stop here. Patrons are friendly here and on weekend mornings, its VERY peaceful. I’m more of a fan of the ambiance. There’s free street parking all around the area. As for the coffee, its good enough. Cappuccino? Ok. Espresso isn’t very flavorful; tastes a bit watered down. Coffee? Hubby says its similar to Starbucks. I haven’t tried food here. I might have ordered a chai tea latte before, but its immemorable. The local teens like stopping by for fraps; my daughter is a regular patron with her friends. Convenient when studying across the street at the library.

Stopped in this afternoon. No line, just us, yet the girl at the counter had no patience for us. Well, we just walked out. Gave them about five years to fix their service, and it’s the same crap. Forget it, there’s plenty of coffee served with a smile elsewhere. If the owners don’t care about what kind of crappy people they hire, then they don’t deserve to have business.

I’ve had several casual/business meetings at Kaldi, which offers both a good environment for it and good drink selection. The service can be a little slow, but this is to be expected in a small shop where the barista is making individual, involved drinks. Outdoor seating is offered. People are friendly too. When I sat outside an old person walked up and said ‘we have a rule here in South Pasadena. When you walk around the park in the morning and see someone, you stop and say good morning’. Kaldi is across the street from a public park, a large library, and an old-person’s home. They also have art for sale, free dog biscuits, and good pastries.

I’ve been coming to Kaldi for years, mostly for the scenic environment and atmosphere. The easy parking, vicinity to the Gold Line, and beautiful library across the street are all perks. I recommend the chai tea latte.

This is the perfect place to go if you need a nice place to sit and work for a few hours or if your just looking for a quick cup of coffee and sand which to go. The service is great and the staff is friendly they’ll bring your drink out to you in the patio of you have a dog even. Also this is the perfect linch place with selections sandwiches and a perfect view of the ancient oak tree across the street. If you want me advice get a chai to stay with an almond croissant and you’ll have the best study session ever.

Until a friend took me here recently I didn’t even realize there was a location of Kaldi Coffee in South Pasadena. I’d only been to the one in Atwater Village. On a drizzly Sunday afternoon, it was not surprisingly crowded. Somehow we came right as a table opened so we were able to have our drinks here. I decided on a MEXICANHOTCHOCOLATE and thought it was good, but for this area La Monarca is still tops for me.

Oh Kaldi. Its Kaldi. What do you people want?! This is not a Starbucks. Thank god. If you want Starbucks– turn around, walk a few blocks and go there. South Pas is littered with them. It’s a quaint and charming independent coffee shop on a beautiful, idyllic street. Seriously– great location. The no bathroom rule does suck… But not their fault. It’s not malicious. Historical landmark building + not having a handicap accessible entrance is the problem. It sucks. They can’t change zoning laws. Eat your bran muffin and coffee to go. Or go the library across the street. Buy a Sportea. Read a paper. Enjoy the beautiful day.

Beautiful location, lovely quiet vibe but alas they no longer provide rest room access, which in my mind shows massive disrespect and disregard for the patrons who keep them in business. I’ll stick with Buster’s around the corner: a superb spot that treats its customers like human beings.

The typical neighborhood coffee shop… I wouldn’t be surprised if the locals sing to the tune of Cheers theme song…“where everybody knows your name” Great place to bring your laptop, a book or a friend. Very good selection of both coffee and tea which is not easy finding a coffee shop that offers several varieties of teas both cold and hot. They do offer food and pastries as well which I haven’t tried not because it didn’t seem appetizing but because I usually come here specifically to share an afternoon tea with my BFF after we’ve had lunch.

Oh man. No wonder this place averages 3 stars. I came here because they are the only place open on Easter and I needed to get work done. The location is really great with lots of street parking around. The ambiance is really nice and great to get work done. I ordered an iced Mochanut and it’s delicious. So I set up my laptop and about to start working when… my laptop won’t connect to the Internet. And then it finally does and it’s super slow. And then it stops working. I have a draft that needs to go out tonight and I can’t work on it. So I ask them to reset the Internet and the owner treats it like its a bother to ask but the thing is that a bunch of people are here to use the Internet and to work. It’s too bad. This place has a lot going for it and the management sucks.

Oh man I hate thumbing down businesses. But I ordered a large iced coffee here and it hurt my tongue. Seriously felt like baterry acid on my tonuge. Or kind of like drinking a cleaning product(tasted slightly lemony?). The parking is alright for the area. I would say avoid it on Thursdays because of the Farmer’s Market. But other than that It’s optimal for studying(it also helps that the library is across the street). Just order their coffee with caution. I almost want to give it a second try just to make sure my taste buds are not out of whack. :(
