Went here for FATHERSDAY breakfast after passing on a diner in Portland that had a 1hr wait. No lines no waiting seated right away by Emily who was also our waitress. DELICIOUS breakfast and affordable! All in our party of 5 were very pleased with the food and friendly and attentive service. We highly recommend this restaurant

Possibly the worst dining experience I have ever had. I will start with the 2 positives: the atmosphere & our sever, both nice. The food, however, was inedible. I got the baked, stuffed shrimp w a side of mashed. The shrimp was way way way over cooked & flavorless, the stuffing was underwhelming and dry, not a drop of oil, butter, anything, the mashed potatoes would have been better if they were out of a box, in fact, they probably were out of a box. Honestly, how can you screw up mashed potatoes … no seasoning, no butter, no nothing, disgusting. I love mashed but I took 2 bites & left the rest. It was 5 jumbo shrimp for $ 19, which I would not mind paying if it was at least edible. Ridiculous! As I write this I realize I should have sent it back but I cannot imagine anything else being any good since this is the 2nd time I’ve been & both times it was horrible. I will NEVER go back even tho it’s 2 minutes from my house. Such a bummer.

Give this place a try. It doesn’t look like much from the outside. Really good food and a nice atmosphere. There was live music but it was quiet enough to have a conversation. Prices were very reasonable compared to other places in the area.

Way over priced for what you get. The nachos were burnt .The veggie alfredo had no sauce tasted like pasta with oil. The chicken cor don blu looked and was the size of something you would get in the frozen food section with seemed like frozen mashed potatoes. fries were cold half cooked. I would recomend burger king. This is my first review thought i had to so people don’t waste there hard earned money.

Very decent value for the money. Service was a little slow, but not overly so. Had the clam chowder, which was excellent, some of the best chowder I’ve had. Broiled scallops were also excellent. They give you free pub cheese and crackers, which is nice, as well as a potato and one side with the scallops. I had a Caesar salad as my side, and it was generously sized. The wine list is small, as is the choice of beer. But the food was very good, so I would recommend this place to anyone traveling through Portland, ME.

Stayed at Best Western Hotel, which is attached. The restaurant hours say lounge opens at 4:00 p. m, it was not open at 4:15 when we went over for a drink after a long drive. The hotel desk person said«oh, not again. That’s three nights in a row. «. Went elsewhere for a drink and appetizers deciding we would return later to the Maine Table and try the lobster pizza.(only in Maine right?!). Well, our first clue to turn around again was the fact that they had a server behind the bar because the bartender didn’t show up for work. We stayed because the server was trying her best. So now, the pizza arrived undercooked, the cheese was not even melted completely so we sent it back for further cooking. This time around it arrived BURNT. Place is messed up in the front and back of the house. Two stars are for the server. Go to Sebago’s instead, it’s just short ride from hotel and has great food and service.

Walking in at 8:00 I expected lighting fast service from a location that had few new customers coming in. 20 minutes in to the visit I had replied to a day’s email, returned 2 calls and finally my iced tea arrived. Ordered the lobster stew and a Ruben so prep time should not be an issue. The lobster stew was excellent! The Ruben was served soggy with cold fries. Let the server choose so had high expectations. At least at was a short walk from the hotel so no time lost getting this disappointed.

Totally dissatisfied with this establishment! Got my there at 9:40 which was a little late. The Hotel told us we could get something to eat till 10:00. We were ignored when we got there and finally had to ask one of the waitresses that kept passing up if it was too late to eat. She said yes. We went to the Hotel Lobby and asked Kat if there was somewhere else to eat close by that would still be open. Kat called the restaurant and they saucer oils come back and they would serve us. Again we waited and finally had to stop someone to tell them we were told we could still eat. The man said we could sit at the bar and order from the bar menu. The bar tender went to each customer who had been sitting there and asked if they needed anything else and ignored us. We finally got up and left. Ate at Willows Pizza and they allowed us to get some pizza to go even though they were closed.

Have the Maple BBQ Chicken wings. This appetizer in so generous and DELICIOUS that you really on need a salad or the excellent chowder for a complete meal. We both had dinner ordered but could have stopped after the wings and soup. Staff was friendly but they could use one more waitress. We will return when we are in the area.

Friendly place. Great service. There was this certain smell when I came in but didn’t notice it after a while. NOTE. It is NOT open 24⁄7!

What a great place. The clam chowder was excellent. First time I didn’t add pepper to my chowder. It was full of fresh herbs. Food was fresh and very good. We all enjoyed our meals.

Found Maine Table via Google Maps — wasn’t sure about the place when I pulled into the parking lot. It is adjacent to a Best Western and beside a Quality Inn. There weren’t many vehicles in the lot, but decided to check it out, anyway — and I’m certainly glad I did! From being greeted by bartender Shaun to visiting with folks at the bar, this is a hidden gem! Very nice to see only local beers on tap and the ‘usual fare’ in bottles. The menu is simple– but represents the area. I had the stuffed baked haddock — what a wonderful dish. I was served an ‘appetizer’(complementary) of a 4 cheese spread(eat your heart out Southern Pimento Cheese) and a kidney bean relish. My tab came to less than $ 30 –including my beer! Great food — great staff!

Great bar friendly atmosphere. Music is just a nice extra. Little surprised they did not staff up a little more. But the stage that’s here really hustles to keep things going.

Great ambiance, delicious food, excellent service. Our waitress had a great sense of humor(which was needed with our group LOL), the bar tender also laughed with us yet they were very professional. We were there to celebrate my birthday, there were 6 of us, and we all enjoyed the entire experience. This was my first visit here, and I WILL be going back!

A nice find in S. Portland. Had a marvelous spinach salad with grilled portobello mushroom and a yummy Reuben sandwich. Clean attractive décor and a good bar selection.

When your waitress more worry about cleaning tables, then server your table. That’s a problem.

The Maine Table is a great hidden treasure! The décor is beautiful! Elegant yet cozy. There is enough room to host private dinners or parties. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The prices are a bit high but fair as they use mostly local ingredients. I recommend the maple BBQ wings they serve during happy hour! The one item I did not care for was the side salad– it contained odd ingredients.

This restaurant is quaint, cozy, and you’ll feel like you’re at mom’s kitchen. We had breakfast buffet style, but this buffet was different. The eggs didn’t taste fake and we had baked beans. Baked beans for breakfast, I think so! I was stuffed after one plate of food. Our server, Gabrielle, was extremely nice and refilled our glasses at least three times which was included in our buffet price! Thanks Maine Table :)
