Bought four Forte MTB tubes from this location. They were all defective with at least one small hole each. The kind you don’t find until the next day. After the first two went bad without riding, I submerged the other two in a tub of water to find the same poor quality. Submitted a review on the company website, but of course it wasn’t posted. Take your business elsewhere for better quality products not sold by Performance’s in house names.

The shop has a wide selection of quality parts and very nice bikes. However the service fee was more expensive than other shops I been to. It’s a ten dollar service fee per flat tire. So in total I paid 20 just for the service alone. On top of that the mechanic named JC upsold me several other parts and didn’t explain the prices clear enough that when it was time to pay I felt a little shocked cause of the mismatched prices. Personally I prefer a down-to-earth business and am genuinely repulsed by any upselling techniques. Don’t think I’m coming back anymore.

Wanted to swap out my Cinelli bars for some bull horns. This place had a good selection, reasonable prices and great techs. The binder bolt was stripped and there was nothing they could do. I contacted Cinelli-Italy. The bolt wasn’t available. I went to the Bicycle Collective. I dropped by Contender. I stopped at The Highlander. I went to Ray’s Fasteners. Total pain in the perineum! You know how sore you get after not riding for a long time? Actually, it was worse than that. I ended up at Marshall’s Industrial Hardware for a bolt and a tap. I took it to Bicycle Center for the work. I used to work there and know the lead mechanic. Still not perfect but I’m not going to ever get out of my seat and crank on the bars. I’m too old for that. Anyway, for a box store with a website, this place exceeded my expectations. I think I had a coupon which seems like the principal reason to use a business like this. I’d go back.

Can a box store really deserve 5 stars? Let me be the first to answer my own question. Yes, they can… Is it the local small time bike shop where everyone knows your name, or the small quaint place that never carries what you need? No this is a great big box store that doesn’t really have to give you that«know your name service», and homey feeling. Yet they step up in many other ways. Every staff member at this location that I have come into contact with is knowledgeable, eager to help, and willing to go to the lengths to get you what you need. …and shockingly enough willing to admit when they don’t know what you need, and refer you to someone or somewhere you can get it. Finally a large retailer that carries a multitude of products, in a variety of colors shapes, sizes, and brands. …and still employs knowledgeable staff that is willing and able to help you out. Unilocalers, please go with confidence. This store will not let you down! Keep an eye on their sales also, they love to blow things out, and they actually have some great deals if you watch for them.

This place is great for some killer deals! Sign up for their email list and you’ll get a discount coupon which can be applied on top of sale items! YES. Nothing makes me happier and more loyal to a company that just wants to give the customer the best deal/experience and not hassle with the fine print of «well this is not included… well it’s everything on that shelf except» etc. The selection is good, the store clean, and the service very friendly and knowledgeable. I walked out with a helmet, long cycling pants and cycling shorts for $ 114. SCORE. My wallet was actually smiling walking out. Even though it is a warehouse type place, it doesn’t have that same corporate vibe that I’ll get in other sports stores like REI. I’ll be back for my odds and ends for the bike for sure!
