Bay Pointe Ballet

My little one is in their creative movement class. Miss Christina, who has been the teacher for this class, is great. She is very patient and sweet. Her class is fun and grabs my little one’s attention, while teaching basic ballet movement. My kid loves her! It’s sad
she is leaving the school soon. Once class begins, parents are not allowed to be in the class (to avoid distracting the students), so we have to peek through gaps in between doors. I wish there is a monitor installed outside so that we can look at what they are doing during class.

If you are looking for a ballet school for your little one, do yourself a favor and please, DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME HERE! They have absolute no idea on how to teach little ones. Specially the teacher Jeniffer lacks patience, methodology and does an absolute terrible job. She actually made my two year old daughter cry and asked us to leave the school afterwards. She often came to class with a terrible attitude and poor physical presence. This school is NOT at all for little ones. The worst experience ever.

I bring my toddler here (2 and a half years old) for the creative movement class and both her and I love it. We’ve been going for the past month. It’s the only class I could find for her age that’s not parent participation and it’s perfect. She watches when she’s not sure what to do, finds me when she needs me (tissue, potty) but other then that she’s 100% engaged in the wonderful teacher Kristina.
I watch the classes for the other girls and they look great as well. The parents look happy and the girls look happy to be there.

My daughter (8) has been dancing ballet and jazz here since the summer of 2014. Previously, she spent the last five years at Westlake School of the Performing Arts. She enrolled in their summer intensive program (4 weeks) which was a great introduction for her to meet students and faculty and learn their ballet techniques and routines before the school year started. At the end of the summer intensive program, they had a culminating evening event where they had their intensive dancers put on a short but incredible show for the short time they had to learn and practice. I was thoroughly impressed. To this day, my perception of this ballet school still portrays an extremely high caliber and professional teaching staff. It is great to see my daughter dance and perform with the professional company at their last two productions of Peter Pan and Nutcracker and next week, she will be dancing in their Coppelia production under the guidance and leadership of Bruce Steivel (Artistic Director) and a cast of supporting staff. The facility is clean and bright. I would recommend Bay Pointe to any child (boy or girl) that has an interest in ballet.

I really enjoyed coming here to see The Nutcracker. The performance embodied all of the magic of the holidays. Simply brilliant! Bay Pointe productions are always well organized and a delight! Bonus points for affordable tickets and not having to drive all the way into the city to see a professional production!

I’m posting this review as I was looking for reviews prior to going to see the Nutcracker in Reno NV. There were two options available, however, both schools had good reviews. My daughter and I went and watch the Nutcracker tonight by Bay Pointe Ballet at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno. We were both terribly disappointed. The dancing seemed fine, however, the show was boring. There seemed to be a lot of fillers with little to no purpose. Watching the Nutcracker has been a tradition for us each year, but now we have kind of lost our desire to watch again.

My daughter (age 8) has been taking classes with Bruce Steivel and his fabulous group of professional dancers for over 3 years. Besides being very talented, creative, and very dedicated to the practice, Bruce sets the tone for professionalism while retaining the fun factor. If you are looking for a ballet school that will become you child’s favorite place to go, I highly recommend Baypoint Ballet. His most recent production of Peter Pan this past weekend was beautiful, magical, entertaining and left the audience (not just the children) in awe. His next labor of love is the annual Production of Nutcracker at the San Mateo Performing Arts Center!!! I highly recommend it. :).

This is a professional dance company school, and I love that they teach real ballet, not some sort of modified play time that most places offer. My daughter is taking the pre ballet, and she started a little more than a year ago when she was at her preschool.
The dance company puts on professional ballets, especially during the holidays so that’s a lot of fun for the little ones. They allow little ones to audition for small parts once they are 6 yrs old, and I think this teaches them responsibility and what it is to be part of a troupe.
I really like the small class sizes, and all of the teachers are great. They teach real discipline while making the classes fun for little feet.

Neat, clean, new, organized ballet school in SSF. Staff and teachers are nice, Artistic Director Mr Steivel is very patience and professional, during the Summer Intensive, students learned something new that they won’t learn from any other dancing school (s) nearby.

Bay Pointe Ballet is THE new and exciting ballet company in the peninsula.
I take classes with Bruce Steivel and he is a wonderful teacher and inspiration.
The Nutcracker performance this year was a treat for the senses.

What a great new company on the SF Peninsula! If you are looking for a family treat for the holidays then take them to see Bay Pointe Ballet’s production of Nutcracker. This glorious romp through the land of sweets features sumptuous costumes and beautiful professional dancers, lots of fun at the San Mateo Performing Arts Center which has undergone major renovations. There isn’t a bad seat in the house!!!

The sets and costumes are over the top. My only other Nutcracker experience was in seeing Oakland Ballet in the early 1990’s, so this was a real treat and may have to become a tradition when I travel back to the Bay Area for the Holidays. The dancers are very beautiful! The children near me in the audience were extremely engaged during the entire performance, so if you are looking for a family friendly option then this is a great option.
