The UPS Store

If you plan to come here to print an enlarged photo… be very clear of what you’re asking for!
To keep it short, it took multiple wrong prints and what I thought would be a ~15 min run ended up being about 40 min.
Although there was a clear miscommunication, the worker ultimately put the customer first and only charged me for the final enlarged colored photo that I originally requested. This experience taught me that 1) be 200% clear next time; 2) not everyone who works somewhere is an expertise, so be patient, be kind, and if you really can’t stand their services, go somewhere else!

Sometimes you don’t have too many choices and you’re forced to bring your business somewhere. Unfortunately, today was the day we needed to ship something out. The lady working was on the phone as we walked in and remained on the phone throughout our exchange. Really?! No greeting, no direct communication, no thank you, no customer service. Just some hand gestures and we were on our way. Good thing we didn’t have any questions about our transaction.

These people understand customer service. It was pretty busy today, but every person working there was paying close attention to the people walking in and making sure everyone was taken care of. It was pretty awesome. I’ll be back.

As a notary public myself, I was quite impressed with this particular UPS Store. I watched these women acurately notarize documents tactfully, assist other customers, and I waited in line for no more than 3 seconds. Multi-​taskers at their best! And so friendly!

If you have the time to visit another UPS store, please do yourself the favor of doing so. This place is beyond unwelcoming and rude. I was on my way to Philz’s for a study session with a friend, but decided to stop by to return a jacket from H&M. After walked into the store, the indian lady was working with another customer. That’s fine, I was going to pick out a bag to fit my jacket in anyways. However, as soon as she saw me, she asked me to «place the book over there for returns WHILE working with a customer. She did not even consider asking me what I needed in the first place. She then continued to help me and that other customer at once. While she was ringing me up for the return, another customer walked in. She quickly went to help that customer instead, which made the whole situation that much worse. After my friend swiped his card, we were just standing there and talking and the indian lady then asked us to «acknowledge and verify the payment». Uh no girl. YOU had to acknowledge and complete the transaction. YOU had to check his ID. Please do not come, even if it is convenient. You will leave feeling disgusted.

The Indian woman who works there that helped me was horrible! Super rude and it seemed like I bothered her. I asked if I could sit at the desk with the computer for customers for use and she said no because she’s working on her person documents! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will never come back to this ups store

Nice staff but they charge for everything. Their boxes are expensive and while they do offer to package professionally, the tab really adds up ($ 20+ to pack a super small box and that excludes the actual shipping cost). It basically costed $ 37+ to send out a pair of Loubs since I had to purchase a box, popcorn and tape. Yeah, they won’t let you borrow tape.

I’m not sure if I had perfect timing (lunchtime but no line), but I had to give props when it’s due.
Walked in with a medium size box, one of workers gave me quick/​easy instructions to ship it. Was in and out of there in 5 minutes.
Considering all the other horrible UPS store experiences in peninsula, this was a huge improvement. Thank you UPS karma police.

This UPS Store is TERRIBLE.
My parents got lunch close by and my dad needed some documents scanned just today. He had noted that they were open on a Saturday, so he brought what he needed done, which was just 3 pages to be saved onto his thumb drive.
We walked in and there was only one customer at their counter getting some paperwork notarized, so we waited in line for them to finish. While we waited a white couple came into the store and lined up behind us. The Indian lady at the counter, Bonnie (I asked for her name later), finished up with the one customer and so my dad walked up as he was next. He told her that he needed the document scanned. She didn’t understand at first and then he explained again. She asked how many pages and he answered three. Then she looks at the white couple next in line and says we had to wait so she could notarize something for them. At that point, me, my dad and mom all spoke up. How are you going to have us wait, ask what we need done and then serve the people after us? That was not going to happen. She seemed to know the white couple behind us and greeted them, but we spoke up saying that we were there first and should be served first. There is a reason people stay in line to get service done. She said it would take a while to scan the documents, but we pushed that we get our service done first. She seemed angry about it, but the white couple behind us said she should serve us first. It took her around 5 minutes to scan the documents and place them on my dad’s thumb drive. She was just being lazy because it meant she had to walk out from behind the counter to scan the documents. We paid for the scanning and I got the owners card and her name. After we were done I heard her apologize to the white couple (who she knew personally and that’s probably why she was trying to serve them first) for the wait, but she was never considerate of our time. The 3 pages of scanning cost $ 5.00. What a rip off.
Don’t go to this UPS Store. As you can see from the other reviews, the service is horrid and I now experienced it firsthand. With so many options with other UPS Stores and FedEx Kinko’s, there is no reason to go here and experience bad and overpriced service. I regularly go to FexEx Kinko’s in Colma and they get things done a lot faster and with a better attitude.

I just dropped off an Amazon return. I hadn’t packaged anything, taped the box, or attached the label. The lady scanned the return label, printed out a receipt for me, and said «thank you». That’s it! She packaged, everything, tapped it, and attached the label. In an out in less than a minute. That lady was awesome.

I came here after getting a Philz coffee so I was in a good mood. Then it got ruined by the poor customer service here. I was shipping books to Amazon so already had a shipping label and just needed to get a box to ship them in. I have done this before at other UPS locations and the clerks were all nice to me. The clerk behind the counter at this location made it seem like I was bothering her from doing something else than her JOB. I went in and asked if she had a box that could fit my books in. She measured the books and found the right size. Then she asks, «You want packing tape?» «I’m sorry what?» «You want buy packing tape to ship?» «I thought you guys tape it for me.» Her eyes roll and says, «Ya I guess I can do that.» Then she just says the total and has her hand out waiting for my payment. Takes my card and just hands me the receipt without a thank you. You know Banu, you should learn customer service if you want customers to come back to your location. There was literally no one in the store and it was 10 in the morning. So it was not during peak hours for shipping. I will definitely go elsewhere rather than deal with a rude clerk who feels she has something better to do than her own job. Beware of Banu, the rude.

I love having this store here because It’s very convenient being so closely located near my home. One of the reasons is because it allows me to use the fax machine, desktop computer or to send packages freely and easily without any hassle. Second, because having this store open and apart of the newly remodeled Westbourough shopping center, will help tons of people in this area to use its resources. Especially those that may not have the ability to at their own homes. It also helps with the overall look and versatility that the shopping center now offers.
It’s not just about slightly pricier food and coffees shops filled with hipsters. Someone can actually get business done here without being rushed or burdened by the lack of access to a store like this.
I noticed the store attendant that runs this location is very polite and professional. She answer any questions you have without an attitude or that feeling you get that an employee «doesn’t wanna be at work.» Although the prices for some of the products like: fax machine, packages (to use for shipping) etc, are a little over priced. I just see it as when you’re the only location in the area you can charge at a higher rate. Also Another downfall is the parking. This location has had issues with having enough parking since it opened. So be patient! You might have to circle a few times to find a spot for yourself.
All that being said its clean, convenient and helpful. There aren’t a lot of these UPS stores around in the Daly City area, so use their resources of you need too.

I’ve been a customer of this store for several years. It used to be on callan but before it was in the old Westbourough square.
I’ve only had good experiences. The «Indian woman» as everyone refers to on their posts has always been helpful, professional, and courteous. All of their employees have been super nice as well.
The only reason I deducted a star is because of parking! I hate that parking is such a hassle. Other than that everything is great.

Like I said. My own personal experience has been good. I don’t have patience with rude or incompetent staff so obviously that’s not an issue here or I wouldn’t be such a long term customer.
Sucks that other customers had poor experiences but that happens with all business. Can’t please all of the people all of the time.

Third time in a few weeks that I needed a document notarized. This place is conveniently located and has descent hours.
People are reasonable friendly, try to be as helpful as possible. For my needs it has always been a pretty quick in and out process with minimal delays.

Came here to return Amazon purchase and compared to a lot of US stores, the lady by the stool & the front desk both greeted me & attended to me promptly. Now hear me out, it’s very rare to get a smile from UPS store employees but this one had their smiles and courtesy! That’s a big deal, so five stars for kind & quick customer service!

I don’t know if it’s just me but I had a horrible experience at this location. I’d give a ZERO stars if I could.
I came in wanting to ship my belongings since I would be moving to a different state and I was told by the lady sitting at front that UPS would be cheaper if I shipped my belongings. So I came in and I was rudely greeted by the Chinese guy working there and he had a «I hate my job» expression on his face. Mind you, I was carrying in a 100 pound package and he just sat in his little stool and watched me struggle to carry it in to his register. I proceeded to tell him that I just wanted to ship my package. Customer service? None. He didn’t seem like he wanted to help me like it was forced upon him to even have to help me. Furthermore, he gave me attitude the entire time throughout the transaction. I gave him the shipping and receiving address and at the end he gave me a receipt for the transaction and a tracking number and told me I’d be expecting it within the next week.
Well, it’s been a week and I’ve been tracking my package and it’s been sitting in San Pablo for the past week! No movement whatsoever. So I’ve been frantically trying to call customer service and this location to get answers on the whereabouts of my package. And what do you know, no help at all! I tried one more time to call back this location and finally someone answers. I’m sure it was the same worker that helped me and I told him my concerns and all he said was «I can’t help you but you can call the 1 – 800 number» but the thing is, I’ve called the 1 – 800 number millions of times and all I got was an automated machine.
Finally, I called the 1 – 800 number and reported my problem and for once, I got answers. Turns out, my package had no shipping information on it whatsoever and their was a mysterious sticker placed on it. I surely remember I had put no sticker on it and gave the Chinese guy all my shipping and receiving information and I double checked to see if everything I have him was correct. And to get an answer back from the customer service agent that there was no shipping information frustratingly upset me. How could the worker «lose» my information and incorrectly ship out my package when I gave him all the information needed to ship my package?!
Anyways, I won’t be returning to this location nor would I utilize UPS’s services to ship my belongings or anything anymore.

You see a bunch of 5 stars and a bunch of 1 stars tuat usually tell you something. A bunch of fake 5 star reviews.
Just dropped off 3 packages and needed to tape up the envelope and was charged 1.50.
Needed to print a return label and they told me .15 cents per page. Fine.
Then they charged me closed to 5 dollars because I was using their computer. 3 dollars to hit the damn print button on the computer!?. Arrrrrg!

This Ups store doesn’t even rate a star. I walked in to have an item return to Amazon so I asked for how much to have it packaged?
The price the Indian woman gave me was SO ASTRONOMICAL at a WHOPPING $ 60.00. And this is a return item to Amazon with free shipping. So I was trying to figure out why so much!!! The Indian woman’s response was «we have to packaged it and bubble wrap it.»
So without saying a word I took my package and LEFT. I went over to Office Depot and bought the packaging materials for $ 18.00 and dropped the package over to another UPS location on Hickey and El Camino.
NO WAY was I going to pay the $ 60.00 the Indian woman was charging me to have the return item packaged over UPS Westbourough.
I really don’t give reviews unless it’s really necessary however this is an exception I have to make… I really can’t stand when this particular UPS STORE at Westbourough are trying to rip people off!

I had to drop off a UPS package so I was glad that this new location opened up nearby. At first I was going to just drop off the prepaid package and then head to the US post office to mail my other 2 packages, but since it was raining today, I decided to just mail the packages via UPS. I figured it’d be slightly more expensive, but I was willing to pay for the extra convenience of not having to drive to another location.
When I walked in, I could tell the customer in there was not happy. There was apparently some problem regarding an account number. Two employees were helping her – an older Indian woman who seemed in charge, and a younger 20-​something Chinese guy, who was following her directives.
The guy greeted me and asked how he could help me. He then proceeded to help me on the right hand side of the counter, until the Indian woman told him to go to the left hand side. We then moved over there and then a few seconds later, we were told to go back to the right. I figured maybe the confusion was because the previous customer was still waiting for an account number.
The guy priced out the first package that I needed to send. He asked if the item inside was worth more than $ 100 and I responded, «Yes around $ 150.» (I didn’t realize this would affect the price of the shipment, but soon realized this later. Maybe the guy should have asked how much insurance I wanted on the package, and to let me know that anything over $ 100 would cost extra). I was then quoted $ 17.50 to mail a box of shoes. That seemed a bit pricey so I thanked them and said I would head to the post office to mail it instead.
The Indian woman didn’t seem to want to lose my business, so she said they could calculate the USPS prices on the machine at the back counter. I was impressed that they could send stuff via USPS at the UPS store also. That’d save me a trip! She started calculating the item and the younger guy was getting ready to walk away to do something else when she called him back and told him to stay there because she wanted to show him how to do it. He was CLEARLY annoyed by her. I just stood back and watched the dynamics between the two employees because you could tell that the Indian woman was very bossy and the younger guy hated working under her direction. (Usually employees are better at hiding it in front of customers though).
After calling the young guy to come watch her twice, she finally told me that the lowest cost at USPS would be $ 26. It didn’t seem possible that the lowest price at USPS would be that much more than UPS so I decided (again) to take it to the post office.
At that point, a couple came in and she greeted them and asked how she could help them. They said they were here to pick up a package. The woman gave the customer a look as though she were crazy and then said loudly, «Package??? We don’t have packages here!» The customers and I looked at each other rather puzzled.
Then the employee returned her attention to me and the young employee changed the value of the package from $ 150 down to $ 100, which changed the cost of the package to $ 10.56. That was awesome so I agreed to send it. I paid for the packages and was ready to go.
While this transaction was going on, there were more subtle things going on between employees (I almost wanted to tell the younger guy he needed to get a new job if he disliked his boss so much), as well as the older employee not being very patient with other customers who came later.
But I was happy because I had finally mailed off the packages!
Then after I signed the credit card receipt, the older employee tells me that I was charged incorrectly because the younger employee had not put in the weight correctly. Something about how we had moved the package from one location to the other. I stood there, confused, wondering if I was getting ripped off or something.
She told me that I had paid $ 10.56 but needed to pay $ 4 more because the weight had been put in incorrectly. At no point did she apologize for her employee’s mistake or to at least acknowledge some responsibility on their side. Good customer service skills were clearly lacking.
I looked on the new receipt and the price was $ 14.46. At the very least, shouldn’t she calculate it to the exact amount, instead of having me pay OVER the extra amount?
It was just a really confusing and not pleasant experience at the UPS Store. Had I just dropped off a package, I’m sure I would not have experienced this, but because I had stayed to mail 2 packages, I was able to observe the dynamics of the employees at this location. Newer employees are not trained adequately and those who are in charge of training are lacking in good customer service skills and interpersonal skills. As a result, employees are unhappy and that affects those who walk in. I came in feeling happy, I left feeling irritated and hopeless.
If I return to this location, I will make sure it’s only to drop off packages.

Located right in Westborough Square, it’s a small UPS store where you’re able to ship things conveniently. Parking is all around in the square so no need to fret over that.
I’ve been here twice now since it opened and I have not had any issues whatsoever. The worker, the Indian lady, was very nice and helpful and gave me some help when I looked confused in here.
Not really much to say. Just glad there’s a close place to ship packages now.

I just had to drop off two boxes, and I’ll be back tomorrow to drop off another box. Used to go to this other place much closer to me but after loosing a package I’m hesitant, so I thought I’d try this on for size.
I thought the woman was really nice and attentive. I asked about general shipping prices. She told me prices for shipping larger boxes and more details, which I thought was nice, and even opened the door for me as I was holding something.
Apparently they were up the street near Goldilocks, but moved down. I got a receipt that things were scanned and I was out the door as quickly as I got in.

Had to ship a return of two sandals to American Apparel and was too lazy to go to the Westlake ups store.
First I walk in and there isn’t a worker there for a good minute or so to help. That worker was on the phone in the back. When the worker (who I later found out was the owner) finally came out to help she did not apologize for being mia or having us wait. Whatever.
When it was time for her to help us, I asked to ship the sandals and she sloppily taped up a box for me. She then told me it was $ 10 for the packaging. What?! $ 10 and she didn’t even tape it neatly? It was seriously one of the worst tape jobs I’ve ever seen. I was the only customer there so why did she have to rush putting the box together? I wasn’t in a hurry. I asked if there was any bag I couldn’t put it in and she said no. Then I was like «oh… Ill look around first» and of course there is a large envelope/​bag which was only $ 3. I asked if it would fit and she said that I could try…
The best part was probably her yelling to me from the back. I was so surprised, how unprofessional! She couldn’t come up front to ask me if I needed anything else?
I usually don’t carry cash around and they apparently don’t let you use your card if it is under $ 10 so make sure you bring cash!
Once I got to the car, I realized that I did not receive a receipt with a tracking number so I had to run back in to the store. Once again, she was in the back on the phone and didnt come out for even longer than the first time. As I was waiting for her, i noticed my package was just on the front counter where anyone could simply just grab it and go since she obviously wasn’t paying attention to people going in and out of the store. By then I was just fed up with the serious lack of customer service. I had to call for her multiple times after her phone call since she could not hear me. When she came out she explained that they do not give receipts with tracking numbers for USPS shipments but that I could take a picture of the slip for my record. My mistake, I had left my phone in the car and had to run and go get it.
When I came back the last time (thank goodness), just like before was in the back and did not come out! I took my picture and waited again to ask when it would be shipped. Can you guess what happened? Yes! I had to call for her again! I asked when it would be shipped and YES she chose to yell it to me from the back.
I am definitely NEVER coming back to this store.
One star for a new and clean store, and for an empty parking lot since many of the other stores are not open yet.

This place is brand new, and all I did was do a drop off. I can add however, that the lady working the front desk, did help me even though she was assisting another lady that was taking a while looking in her purse.
