Alright… since I live close by, I would very much like to see this place succeed, so I wanted to leave some positive criticism. The staff was friendly and attentive, so great job. The pizza was ok… Pieology is definitely better… but here’s why… 1) I actually like the crust better here than at Pieology. It’s crunchy and has a nice bite. However, by crust, I mean only the outer edge of the pizza uncovered by toppings. The center of the pizza doesn’t hold the same texture, and comes out almost paper thin. Since all the weight of the pizze centers around the middle, this ruins the structural integrity of what could have been, a perfect slice. What happens is, the tip of the slice just flops over when you are holding it, which results in all the cheese and toppings sliding right off. That just isn’t a pleasant dining experience for pizza. 2) The pizza was not sliced uniformly, and was not sliced all the way through. I had slices that were about 1⁄3 of the pizza, and other slices that represented about 2⁄3 of the pizza. I needed a fork and knife to cut the slices myself. Pizza is supposed to be one of those foods that is easy to eat without utensils. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen here. 3) Topping options are not as abundant as Blaze or Pieology, but that doesn’t matter to me, because as long as they have the 4 basic food groups(pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and bacon), I’m happy. Howver, someone that’s slightly more fufu than me might complain. 4) The sauce… everyone has their own preferences, and their sauce tasted fresh and tangy just like true tomato sauce should… and I didn’t quite like it. A little bit of sugar to offset the tanginess would have helped round it out a bit. Thats it. I’d still come back… more because I’d rather support businesses that are in my neighborhood… but the food could be better.

Horrible. Everything falls off the crust when you grab a slice. Service was alright. The place was packed for the game but there was no line wait.

When im feeling hawngry and craving for pizza this is my go to pizzeria. I am a foodie but aways try to ensure i dont fall off my healthy eating streak so take one pizza’s gluten free pizza definitely satisfies my pizza cravings and did i mention they are guilt free? I always personalize my pizza and spoil myself with their unlimited toppings. Occassionally, they have promotions where it is buy one get one free. The crew here always takes their time to perfect every pizza they make. Cant wait to visit them again on my next pizza binge ;)

Really good so I ate the whole thing with no shame cause one size fits all. But I mean, if you don’t eat it all that’s fine; just invite me and I’ll eat the rest for you.

Really solid artisan pizza. I can’t believe I called it that, but that’s what it is! Well worth it. I ate the whole thing and refused to share. The Snowcap(?) had sundried tomatoes and alfredo sauce. So good.

This is a order your toppings and pick up when it is ready place. The pizza was good and toppings were fresh. But in comparison to blaze I think blaze is better. The pizza comes out fast and 2 pizzas can feed 3 people. I like to customize my pizza so I pretty more order everything. I live very close by so my pizza cravings will always suffice.

Don’t ever come here… The most burnt pizza I ever ate. It’s cheap, but wow.

Last night we ordered their for the first time. We ordered over the phone for a pick up. Pizza was ready by the time we got there. Pizza was very good. Not going with the best I ever had but so far because we are new here it was really pretty good pizza, and price was very reasonable. I thought the guy behind the counter was very helpful, because I did ask him for a few extra things for A salad that I also ordered. I would get pizza from here again.

Consistent with greetings, and the pizza never failed me. Just leaving a review more towards a shocker, and I hope a manager can see this. It was a slow day at Take One; just me and another lady waiting for our orders. What bothered me was that all of the workers were walking around, pulling out their phones, and eating on the job. I understand that the store was pretty empty, but it seemed so unsanitary that they were all in the back eating on the prep tables(in clear view) while one guy handled the pizzas in the oven. I understand that usually when the employees are on breaks, they dine at the tables and I would have very much rather had them doing that while on the clock, than what I saw. I am positive that nobody was on their break, and it disturbed me to see them feasting right next to where our pizzas were being prepared.

I finally got to try Take One Pizza in South City! I came in on a late afternoon so it wasn’t too busy. Instead of building my own pizza I decided to try one of their menu specialties. I ordered their Chicago Setting pizza and was pretty impressed how fast it came out. Their slogan is «California style pizza in a New York minute» and it was cool to see that they’re pretty true to it. Chicago Setting – sausage, peppers, mushrooms, spicy tomato sauce This is one of their Unedited Cut Pizzas. The spicy tomato sauce in this pizza is no joke. It’s got some serious kick! And it had a balanced amount of toppings on it. Overall it was a great pie. I have to go back to try building my own pizza and experiment with some toppings and sauces before I can find the best combination that suits my tastes. I love how you can customize with anything they have at a set price. The pizzas here are a good size and one is definitely enough to fill you up. Since this the first time I’ve ever been to one of these new wave Chipotle-style pizza joints, I really have nothing to compare it to. After having one of their pizzas though, I’m definitely sold on the concept.

Meh. I like the place on Gellert better. These guys were friendly, but they got one of our pizzas totally wrong and I can’t figure out why. The place wasn’t busy at all, hardly anyone in there actually. Good thing I checked before we left. It seemed we waited quite a while for them to remake it. They were friendly and apologetic, allowed us to keep the wrong one anyway. And then when I got home, I took a slice and noted it had a smoky flavor. Oh, that was because it was quite charred underneath. Dirty fingers, blackened lips. :-( The sauce is tangy and a little spicy. Not sure kids would like it, or they put spicy sauce on mine instead of marinara. I can see pepper flakes. If I’m in the area, I might give them another chance, but I’m not in a hurry to go back.

Lots of options for a customizable personal pizza all under $ 9!!! Salads too for those on a diet! The food tastes great and I love how this is like the chipotle of pizza!

My first time here, I had a great experience! I had a lot of toppings put on my pizza which I loved. I had my pizza togo and it was still delicious when I got home. The second time was more recent and I actually didn’t enjoy it too much. My toppings were very little and it just wasn’t that great. It might have been because I went in when they were closing but I was still sad that it didn’t taste so good. Maybe I will give it another try.

Friendly staff with flexible options making your standard pizza into a customized one in minutes. The idea is pretty straightforward. 1. Queue in line 2. Choose a pre-selected pizza or customize your own 3. Watch your pizza get prepared and into the oven 4. Pay and wait for your pizza(approximately 10 minutes) The pricing structor is customize your own one topping is $ 6.95, unlimited toppings $ 8.45 and pre-selected options for $ 7.95. There’s a cool dough press machine that they use to make those perfect size pizzas. Taste wise, the pizza was okay. It did not satisfy my pizza craving. Good for a freshly prepared lunch. Needs more cheese distribution, IMHO. One person can polish off a single pizza which is almost the equivalent to two slices of pizza from Costco minus the cheese. What you need to know: — They offer organic soft serve ice cream on a cone — There’s a flavor soda machine similar to the ones at Five Guys — Ample seating — Offers pizza of the month suggestion — Utensils, pepper flakes and plates are available for self serve — Gluten Free Crust and Vegan Cheese Available — Single slices are not offered — Beer is also available for purchase

When I first walked in, I was immediately greeted and welcomed by friendly employees into the restaurant. I was excited to build my own pizza with as many toppings as I wanted for $ 8.45 which was a really good price because they do not skimp on toppings at all! Compared to other similar pizza places, Take One definitely has a lot more toppings to choose from and the ingredients look fresher which makes the taste and look overall a lot better. There are a lot of young employees working here and the supervisor does a really good job ensuring that they are well trained and the service are excellent. He makes sure all customers are well taken care of and that there are no problems at all. I’m sure it’s hard to supervise younger employees also. The whole place is very clean including the bathroom which is a plus. Location is in a plaza so there’s also plenty of parking. I’m glad this new location opened up in the Bay Area and I would definitely come back!

These days«Chipotle-style» is catching on QUICK. You can get personalized everything with a healthier glow… and that’s what Take One Pizza is all about. Attended a Unilocal Elite event here on a low-key Tuesday night and it was very similar to #trending pizza places like Pieology or Project Pie. I had a personal pizza that was«BYO» or build your own. The Store Manager that night explained to us that the theme they’re going for is obviously cinematic, but food-wise they’re going for a pizza place with a Chipotle style of serving along with a fresh and clean quality of Subway. I could totally taste what she was talking about! The pizza crust was also delicious – on the thin crust side, but not too thin where it tastes crunchy like toasted bread. The oven-baked pizzas were perfectly toasted, and the toppings were fresh and adequately sprinkled on top. Drinks are typical and well-stocked with sodas, lemonade, and bottled beers – WHOOT! The venue itself echoes if the entire place is full, but that was because we had a pack of hungry Elites camping out in the joint. There are plenty of large tables for big groups and even a barstool section along the formation of the ordering line for smaller parties/solo eaters. The space is bright and well-lit with high ceilings and an open view. Take One Pizza is in a plaza with packed parking, since there are many other stores here like an Asian grocery store and other food places. However, if you happen to be the area and are looking for some pizza… Take One should be your pick!

Living in SF, we’re blessed with some of the best restaurants in the nation so I usually cringe at chain restaurants. Ok, I lied… you couldn’t slap the smile off my face when I’m 5 cocktails in and begging to go through the 24⁄7 drive thru at Jack in the Crack at 2 am for two for 99 cent tacos. Shhh, now you know one of my guilty pleasures. Mmmm, mystery meat. With the upcoming holidays, we’ve been«trying» to dine more economically. When I heard that Take One Pizza offers create-your-own artisan pizzas for less than $ 10, I just had to give it a try. Soft opening over the Thanksgiving weekend(grand opening this Sunday, 12⁄14), Take One Pizza is a mini Bay Area chain. This is their second location(San Jose is their first), and they have two other Bay Area locations in the works(Walnut Creek and San Mateo). On the menu, are set topping pizzas for $ 7.95 or you can create-your-own pizza with unlimited toppings for $ 8.45. They have a gluten-free crust option, as well as, vegan options(cheese and sausage). There’s 3 sauces and over 40 toppings available. They also have salads($ 5.25-$ 5.75) and organic soft serve ice cream($ 3) on the menu. Two pizzas, one blue moon, and one freestyle soda(free refills) was only $ 25 including tax. This is a tremendous steal as we normally pay $ 20-$ 25 for one individual, thin crust pizza. The 11″ inch pizzas are made with pre-rolled and pre-cut dough, and then topped with your choice of toppings before being put in their conveyor built, 800 degree oven for 3 minutes. From ordering to receipt of our pizzas, it took about 10 minutes with no line. My Create-Your-Own Pizza: For my pizza, I choose white sauce, mozzarella, parm, roasted garlic, bacon, arugula, and sriracha(they forgot this). The crust was crunchy throughout and held up well(not flimsy) but it was too oily. *blot blot* Next time, I would request that they not not brush my pizza crust with oil. The ingredients were fresh but the bacon tasted very processed(skip this topping) and I would have preferred more arugula to cut through the richness. For the price, it was actually quite decent and satisfied my pizza craving. I heated up my leftovers in a cast iron pan and it was just fine. His Create-Your-Own Pizza: Mr. NSS choose traditional marinara, sausage, pepperoni, bacon, and mushrooms. I had a bite of his pizza and the marinara was on point with a nice tanginess. The sausage was a winner; plump, tender, and flavorful. He said, «I’m not that hungry» but then he inhaled his entire pizza so thumbs up from him(and his wallet). Service was very friendly but it’s obvious that the young staff still needs training. To avoid errors and expedite orders, I think they should adopt Pluto’s procedure and have customers fill out the card with their own orders and toppings. Also, the staff need to practice safe food handling. I saw one of the employees handling and chopping veggies without gloves. Not going to ding them for this because it’s probably their first job but management needs to take note of this. Also, it would benefit Take One Pizza if they better marketed their new business. I go to this shopping plaza every weekend and I didn’t even know they had open until I read on Unilocal.Considering they seem to be fully staffed, they should have one employee pass out flyers outside and take advantage of the customers who don’t want to wait to dine at Bonchon. This is me being nitpicky but they should also fix their typos on their website announcing their grand opening(update 12÷12÷14: they’ve corrected the typos on their website) . If Hollywood Video had a pizza joint, this would be it. They had some cool posters of 80s-90s movies on the wall. There’s seven 4-tops and 1 long communal table. Parking can be a hot mess during peak hours with Paris Baguette, Philz, Bonchon, and Pacific Supermarket in the same shopping plaza. It’s a good thing that I practice defensive driving skills: *puts on welder visor mask*.
