Please say the rumors aren’t so… Rumor is that Paradise Chinese Restaurant will be closing and may not be back after the renovation of this small square. I really do hope they stay open as long as they can and come back once this renovation of the Westborough Square is finished. This Chinese restaurant is one that fulfills my Chinese food cravings and it’s really good. The prices are decent especially if you dine-in and choose one of their«family dinner combos». I am a fan of the Lemon Chicken-probably because I like the crispiness of the chicken batter and the flavor of the lemon sauce they add on top of the chicken. Though I’m also a fan of the Pan-Fried Noodles. The food is good. The service is good and fast. The prices are decent. This place should stick around so support this restaurant so it can afford a spot in the upcoming renovated square!

Having grown up in the Westborough area of SSF, I was practically raised on a healthy diet of Paradise Chinese Food. Some of my fondest childhood celebrations were spent here over a table of delicious chinese food. The service is fast and attentive. Although it may feel rushed at times, it’s hard to complain when your scarfing down the most amazing chinese food. I have never had a bad dish here and the prices are great. With the new renovation going on at Westborough Square, I really hope it is able to stay. The restaurant is definitely my favorite for chinese food and true SSF neighborhood gem.

When the s/o and I made the move to the Peninsula, we sadly had to leave our go-to Chinese restaurant in the South Bay. Everyone has a go-to Chinese restaurant and I’m not talking about Panda Express. While searching Unilocal,we came across Paradise so we tried it out. When we got there, the restaurant was packed, mind you this was late on a Sunday night, not to mention, their phone was ringing off the hook for take out orders. This was a good sign and we were getting excited. The menu offerings were pretty standard and the prices were decent. We started with the Chinese Chicken Salad, which was really good. It had a sesame-soy dressing, topped with piping hot pieces of fried chicken, mmm… it was more like Chinese Fried Chicken Salad, doesn’t that sound hella good?!? For dinner, we went with their set dinner menu, we choose dinner A, which was about $ 10 per person and came with Won Ton Soup, Eggrolls, two entrees and rice. The food came out fast, served piping hot and tasted pretty good. Our dinner for two came out to just under $ 30, not bad at all. I heard that they were going to close, probably for the renovation of the plaza. Not sure if this has happened yet but, I hope they open back up and not raise the prices, as that’s usually the case. Overall, if you’re looking for some decent, legit, Chinese food in SSF, check out Paradise!

I have been coming here since I was a little girl. My family and I lvoe this place and really sad to hear it will be closing in August for the new renovations. I hope they come back since I love this place! Everything on their menu is delicious. You can’t go wrong! We usually order tomato beef chow fun, sizzling beef tendon clay pot and gai lawn. I don’t live in the area so whenever I come back home I ask my parents to get me food from here!

Finally found my new Chinese Restaurant! The Chicken Chow Mein was the best I’ve ever had. The pork chops were delicious. I didn’t care for the sweetness of the lemon chicken, but the fiancé said it was pretty good. Will definitely be coming back here.

My favorite Chinese Restaurant in SSF for the following reasons: The best salt and pepper fried anything youll have. Thats right. Salt and Pepper fried tofu, spare ribs, and squid… no one beats Paradise’s. 24 bucks for a Peking Duck! The duck itself is really good The absolute best chicken and fish fried rice. Just the right amount of salt, with a bit of kick from the pieces of fish. The chicken helps neutralize some of the salitness when eating the fish, but I honestly would be satisfied if there was no chicken. Still, the balance is really good. Garlic ginger string beans are amazingly delicious! Garlicky with no real ginger taste unless you get one of the young ginger strands. The string beans are perfectly cooked, and have a nice pop and crunch. The portions are huge and the price is great. You can feed 3 people for maybe 20 bucks if you get specials and still come home with left overs. They have daily specials, and some of the items mentioned above are covered. This is seriously a good default place for chinese food without having to drive to SF. I am sad that they will be closing due to the remodeling of Westborough square, however.

AMAZEBALLS. I’m writing this review as I finish the last bite of my Hong Kong Style Chicken Chow Mein. I ordered an order and I pretty much almost ate HALF! And trust, the portion size of ONE order is PLENTIFUL. DONTJUDGEME! I already knew that my lunch hour was going to be ‘challenging’; I have to find a gift for my grandmother’s bday dinner tonight and still manage to fulfill my chow mein craving. I went to Nordstrom Rack in Colma and as I got in my car, called in to place a pick up. Upon my arrival, I was pleasantly greeted with a smile by the lady at the register. Picked up my order and my entire 8 mile drive to work was me thinking«Should I take a bite now or wait till I get to my desk and eat it. Dammit, it smells so good.» It took everything in me to wait and as I said, pretty sure i cleared half of this food alone. I’ll definately be coming back to try the Honey Walnut Prawns because it’s an all time favorite dish. Price, Portion, Flavor, Quality and Service all in one place. You can’t go wrong here.

This place is VERYGOOD!, we usually order to go but once in a while we have a sit down lunch or dinner. This place has been here FOREVER, maybe more than 20 years or so? We have been eating here since I was a teenager, Anyways, you won’t be disappointed with the food, don’t let the size of the restaurant, dimly lit, and lack of décor or so-so service fool you! The food makes up for it and THEPRICE! BIGTIME!!! Recommended Dishes: Peking Duck(Whole), Chicken w/Creamed Corn Soup, House Special Chow Mein, Tomato Beef Chow Mein, Hong Kong Style Pan Fried Noodles, Dry Bean Curd w/Rock Cod Fillet Pot, House Special Chop Suey, Shrimp w/Walnuts, Mongolian Beef, Sweet & Sour Pork, Pepper Salted Pork Chop, Fried Rice w/Chicken & Salted Fish, Lemon Chicken, Calamari, Barbecue Pork and American Broccoli w/Garlic Sauce.

Paradise did not live up to its high esteem, with all the hype and glowing suggestions and ratings others have posted for this place on Unilocal.Although the service was great – waitress was friendly and forthcoming with her answers to our questions – the food was not worth my hard-earned money. Our order of #76 Cashew Nuts w/Chicken, #116 Barbecued Pork Fried Wonton Soup, and #120 House Special Chow Mein Hong Kong Style came out to $ 25. There was nothing special about the Cashew Chicken. The cashews weren’t roasted or salted. Much of this dish was piled with«fillers»: water chestnuts and bamboo shoots that ruined the dish’s flavor and masked the cashews. The gravy this dish was dressed in was watery and didn’t thicken until we ate half of it. I guess this is a good thing if you’re concerned about consuming excessive amounts of corn starch… We shouldn’t have asked for a fried variation of their wonton soup in order to better evaluate the quality of their regular wontons. Plus, anything fried automatically tastes better! In my humble opinion, they should have given us more completely-filled wontons in less numbers than a dozen wontons that were only half-filled. Again, nothing special about this wonton soup because the finely minced barbecued pork was in the soup instead of being the wonton filling. Small cocktail shrimps, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, water chestnuts and bamboo shoots were also in the soup. Their House Special Chow Mein consisted of barbecue pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, squid, baby corn, bok choy, broccoli, carrots and shiitake mushroom mixed with a watery gravy(same as in the Cashew Chicken) that drenched the underlying crispy pan-fried noodles. So, it was pointless to order their chow mein Hong Kong style. Seasoning! This was missing in the Cashew Chicken and House Special Chow Mein. We had to add a little salt and pepper and a small drop of chili sauce to bring life to these dishes because, honestly, the meal was a bit bland! Hmm… forgot to add some soy sauce too… oh well…

I grew up eating at Emmy’s, then when the cooks moved to Happy Palace I went with them. As we migrated farther outside of the city, we searched high and low for a more convenient Emmy’s/Happy Palace. And I’m not even kidding when I say this may be just as good. They have a mean fried noodle dish, salt and pepper shrimp, pork(pre-vegan days), and calamri. And you know the other favorites… those are good, too.

This place is hidden in the corner of a little strip mall in South City. Right next to a bank and Walgreens is closeby. I’ve come here several times, and the food does not disappoint. The day before Christmas eve, my family went here to eat dinner. Our party started with 8, then other family members started dropping in(my mom tends to text other family to come eat out with us). Our party ended up growing to 14, and the lady gladly moved is to the biggest circular table they had. We were shoulder to shoulder, but it was great to be very close to family during the holidays(literally). Food was tasty as usual. Walnut Prawns, wonton soup, korean fried chicken, fish, chow mein, rice, etc. We got the works and everyone was full. What I did notice was there were a lot of people picking up takeout orders, and these were full platters. Seems this place doesn’t have trouble with business. It felt like the scene from«A Christmas Story» when the Ralphie and the fam end up eating at the chinese restaurant. Good times! If you need chinese food around the SSF area, I would definitely recommend this place.

I love Paradise! They are the only place I know that has chow fun with shrimp and egg satay for less than $ 10. Their fried chicken wings and their salt and pepper spare ribs are SOGOOD. Their service isn’t stellar, but that’s because they get super busy and there’s only a few people working at a time. &NOMSG! Yay =)

Everything’s good in Paradise! Lol get it? I’ve been coming/ordering from here for years! Their Chinese food is really good! I haven’t gotten a dish that I have not enjoyed. My favorites are their chow-mein, cashew chicken, walnut prawns, and won ton soup. Their restaurant is small but they’re really fast on making their food.

Growing up around Westborough, this is one of my local Chinese food take out joints. It’s right off of 280 in the Westborough square so there’s always alot of people picking up take out orders. The menu is like 8 pages long, real comprehensive, with nothing really fancy but after trying most of their menu, My favorites always seem to be — Salt and pepper pork chops, — Chicken chow mein, — Chicken wings(probably a ¼ as good as San Tungs) — Salt baked chicken — Salted fish and chicken fried rice. An order like this is good enough to feed a family of 5 – 6 for around $ 35. The portions are good, the prices are cheap, and the food tastes like it how it should. Solid Chinese-American food.

Aside from what’s served in sushi bars, I could probably go months without eating Asian food. Earlier this month, I had a serious Asian food fixation that lasted 2 – 3 weeks(as you can see from the types of places I’ve been reviewing.) The bf & I had lunch at Paradise during that time period when all I would eat was Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai, etc. We shared: –chicken chow mein: so good. thick, soft-ish noodles, super flavorful. — an appetizer that had fried shrimp, fried won tons, chicken in foil, egg rolls: basically fried food overload but it was all tasty & not dripping in oil. More than enough for two people to share. Total: $ 18(not including tip.) Paradise is located in the Westborough Square Shopping Center where Denny’s, Walgreens, Kamameshi House, Pet Club, etc is also housed. Plenty of parking, convenient location & a solid pick in the area for a satisfying, cheap lunch. While we were eating in, several people phoned in or came in for take-out orders – obviously a local favorite. I’d definitely eat here again.

Sitting at home debating what we want for lunch. Mexican? No, just had that the other day, Little Lucas? No, I’m all sammiched out. Phở? No, we just had that last week. So my bf decides to take me somewhere new because he knows I love when I don’t have to pick. We came to Paradise for lunch around 12:30 and boy was this place packed! We had to wait for 15 min for a table, but no biggie because the wait was totally worth it. The first time there I ordered the duck rice plate and my bf ordered the cashew chicken rice plate. Omg, it was so yummy and good! I kept eating his chicken because I couldn’t get enough of it. We both finished our plates and lunch was under $ 20 with tip and two sodas. The ladies there take your order quickly, they bring you tea right away, but let it sit for a while because it is a little weak at first. The food comes out quickly and there’s so much of it. What more can you ask for during lunch? The last time we went I really wanted lemon chicken and rice, but it wasn’t on the menu. I asked our waitress and she said yes, I could order it no problem. Sweet! I need to go to dinner and try out more things, like the wonton soup, noodles, fried rice, and their chicken wings. This is one of my top three fav. Chinese restaurants.

I’ve now eaten here for a few months now and this place has finally made my regular go-to Chinese place. IF you now how to choose, this place can be really excellent. There are also some occasional disappointments. For some reason, dining in has proven to be better than their takeout. Maybe it’s the packing into those little white boxes that mess up the textures. So I’ve not been real impressed with their pre-set combos for take out. Here are some favorites and some tips: 1. Order the House Special Chow Mein upgraded to the pan-fried noodles IN/AT the restaurant. This will get you the thin crispy noodles that are SOMUCH better than the standard thick soft chow mein noodles. Note: If you try this as a take-out, the otherwise crisp pan-fried noodles will be soft and not impressive, so order at the table. 2. Their Beef Chow Fun is one of the best in the area. Not too oily, great hot wok flavor and generously portioned tender beef. One problem: other people like this dish too and there is only so much chow fun to go around, so they have sold out of it twice now when we ordered it for dinner. So order early! 3. They have amazing Honey Walnut Prawns. These preciously crispy, generously proportioned, prawns are in a light sauce that is not just mayo or too sweet, nor does it soften the light crisp batter. Add to this perfectly done honeyed walnuts, and this is a winning dish. It’s one of their higher-priced dishes, but it’s a generous serving of excellent fresh juicy prawns! Don’t miss it. 4. Their perfectly done String Beans with tender Beef has a black-bean-sauce that makes me very happy. Their service is reasonably fast, although sometimes there are simply not enough waitresses to seat, serve and check out all the patrons.

The pork won ton soup definitely surprised me with how delectably sweet it was. I hope and pray that whoever I marry will be open to Peking duck because I’d like Peking to cater for my wedding one day, whenever that is. +++++ Pork won ton soup +++++ Corn & crab meat soup(yummy) +++++ Prawns with walnuts +++++ Beef Chow fun +++++ Peking Duck(non-oily unlike many of its cousins) ++++ Fried Flounder(I don’t eat the fried part but enjoyed the meat) +++ Garlic String Beans +++ Sweet and Sour Pork(the norm) Don’t let the long list of goodies scare you; the check they bring you is going to put you at ease. =)
