A few weeks ago we stopped in at this Aubuchon Hardware to rent a rototiller for my father’s garden.
When we called on the phone they told us that the self driven rototiller we wanted was in stock. When we arrived to pick it up, they let us know that it was in stock but not operational. This was frustrating but we ended up renting another non driven model.
Once we paid for the rental we went out back to acquire it and ended up waiting 20 minutes for a rototiller that worked property. The employee was polite but had to move 10 other pieces of equipment until he found one that worked. This dug into our four hour rental since we had to head back to Falmouth.
In the end, the staff here was nice enough but between the disconnect about the rental, the wait to find a working rototiller and the fact that it took a while to rent it because of the fact this place was slammed, we would probably rent from another company in the future.

Why hassle with the big box stores when these guys are Close by which saves gas, have a frequent shopper reward program&are always very helpful. when I need something I know its there. Easy!

I cannot say these chains are poor businesses, just pricy. Very pricy.
The stores are clean and well stocked with normal hardware store stuff (buy lumber at Botellos not here) but again way too pricy.
