Charming Charlie – South Windsor

My daughter likes these stores so when we saw this one on our travels we had to stop. This is by far the best of the ones I have been into in Florida. Nice staff and a large selection. My daughter and wife both had fun and I found a chair to chill in. They need some coffee or a TV and I would be set.

Came here with a couple friends after some hibachi at Sakura. I had only heard of the store before and really had no interest in it… until I walked in. The place is spacious, well-​organized (everything is sorted by color), and variety is abound. I’m not usually too into purses and accessories, but I just HAD to buy a lovely brown «bag in a bag» tote for work. It came with a smaller, detachable purse on the inside and a wallet as well. It will definitely come in handy once I start my new job and (hopefully) make me look slightly more sophisticated and not like the awkward geek I really am. :P
The best part about CC, in my opinion, is the price. I automatically assumed right from the get-​go that I’d never be able to afford anything in here, but the merchandise is actually pretty affordable. Sure, it may only *look* like a Gucci/​Coach/​Alexander McQueen bag… but come on, who REALLY wants to drop three thousand on a purse? ;)
The sales associates were also very friendly; we were greeted as we walked in and the lovely young lady who rang me out was very pleasant. Having worked in retail, I truly appreciate this as most retail workers don’t make as much as they should for putting up the public. All of us also got a coupon to use in April… I’m going to have to go back and buy some nice scarves to go with my bag or maybe a nice top.
All in all, I’m very happy to have found this affordable gem in the heart of a (very) expensive shopping center. Will definitely be back to make use of that coupon… probably with my mother, who said she wanted to steal my purse the minute she laid eyes on it.

This Charming Charlie’s blows stores like Francesca’s and Lou Lou’s out of the water. It’s so huge and really well maintained. This is an accessory paradise. You can find everything in any color and style. Want some turquoise in your wardrobe? Not only can you find purses, jewelry, and scarves in that color, but you can find a classic look, modern, chunky, subtle, beaded, cloth, leather — you get the idea.
The prices are really reasonable. They have a loyalty card, too. Good luck getting out of the store without buying at least one thing!

Shopped here on Veterans Day. I had never heard of Charming Charlie’s before. The had tons of scarves, jewerly and other accessories.
They had some great prices on the scarves. I didn’t buy anything myself, but my friends did. I have a habit of loving stuff in the store, and never using. Since I just moved, I realized that I do this to much. So I am more conscious of shopping and buying.
I did see a lot of necklaces and bracelets, that were not too expensive. They were also getting rid of some of there summer stock, so that was also on sale.
I don’t know if I would go back here. Not because I didn’t like the items for sale, but because I could see myself buying things I don’t need.

Love love this store! Super clean and tidy, the staff was very friendly. I was able to keep my typically uncontrollable spending habit in this store to a minimum which was diffucult to say the least. The sale section was a great find though, as one of the staff members informed me it was all BOGO. I will certainly visit again next time I am in Connecticut. :)

This location is by far a step above the rest. I’ve been to a few Charming Charlies, the one in West Hartford quite a few times and I have not seen a location this organized and with this great of a staff.
In West Hartford, the staff do not want to be bothered with you, if nobody is at the register it can easily take them 5 minutes to come up to ring you out. The only thing the West Hartford staff cares about is that you’re not stealing. While here in Windsor they learned that great customer service = less theft because if someone comes up to ask you if you need help finding anything you know your being watched other than just seeing an associate glare over at you every so often.
I had to stop myself last time I was here because even though everything is so cheap I was easily getting to the point of spending too much money. Something I learned is that a lot of the pieces here are rip offs of other designers stuff, which I am ok with because its still not the same as those designs and its cheaper for a reason. I got an awesome clutch bag (Alexander McQueen style) that I will be using for my wedding. Lets be honest, I am not going to go out and spend $ 2,500 on that clutch so the late great Mr. McQueen is not hurting anywhere.
If you are looking for something in a specific color its likely you can find it, some of the stuff they have is a little gaudy but yet I see girls wearing it so I suppose it still sells!

This is a fun place to go shopping for trendy accessories with your girlfriends! But watch out: even though the accessories are categorized by color, it’s still easy to get overwhelmed in this store. I went in looking for a new wallet, and I pretty much had to scour every square foot of the massive store since it’s not like there’s a distinct «wallet section». I knowingly smile to myself every time I see girls and their boyfriends in Charming Charlie. Deer in headlights is a good description. Don’t get me wrong, my dude is patient and likes helping me pick out funky jewelry/​shoes, but Charming Charlie is a LITTLE much for him lol. So I don’t torture him.
I like the fact that I can get a trendy, unique necklace here for around $ 5-​$ 10, but I do find their clothing items overpriced. A simple top (reminiscent of something you’d find for cheap at Forever21) can cost you $ 35-​ish at CC, but the quality isn’t really there. The shoes, on the other hand, are quite low-​priced here.
